Stop Enabling Bad Breeders. Protect Animals Trapped In Puppy Mills! Sign Now Dear friends, There are roughly 10,000 cruel puppy mills in the United States. More than 2 million puppies are bred in these horrific facilities each year. These desperate animals need protection now. Year after year, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which oversees these facilities, has rubber-stamped breeders who have histories of horrific treatment of animals. Now, the agency has proposed a new rule that would help rein in puppy mills and protect animals. Sign and tell the USDA that you support stopping bad puppy mill breeders! The rule would increase standards for veterinary care at facilities that are regulated under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA), and require that dogs and cats constantly have fresh access to potable water. It would also end the practice of automatically renewing licenses for dealers and exhibitors, whether or not they are in compliance of the AWA, meaning that bad actors can't simply keep their licenses year after year.
