Donald Trump's visit to Ireland is defined, as you might expect, by cynicism. He seems to
be here mostly in order to promote his hotel in Doonbeg. This is the hotel that rather
famously, despite him being a major climate change denier, perhaps the leading climate
change denier, that he has applied for planning permission to build a seawall to protect
the hotel against rising sea levels! ---- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbiVva8_PDk ----
Another cynical aspect of the trip is that it's fairly obviously aimed to appeal to Irish
American voters and maybe get him some extra votes in 2020. In that context it's very
important that there were significant mobilizations in all Irish cities saying the Trump
was not welcome and that in terms of the media they could only find a handful of people
willing to act the fool down in Doonbeg to welcome Trump and that terrible pint his son
poured.

Of course staying in Doonbeg in Clare also has the big advantage that had meant he was
nowhere near any of these cities so in theory is pretty safe in being sure he wasn't going
to be seen any protesters himself, the hotel being surrounded by police and of course the
American security services that are here. Anyway last night in Dublin a few thousand
people took the opportunity to take to the streets and say that Trump was not welcome here

The reasons the organizers gave for organizing the march, the reasons to stop Trump were
simple enough

He's destroying the planet
He's the world's leading misogynist
He's a racist Islamophobe and apartheid Israel supporter
He's an imperialist war monger
He's a vicious tranphobe
and he represents the 1%.

The Dublin protest at the start saw that rather infamous Trump as a baby balloon brought
over from London for the occasion. Not a huge fan of it,tends to depoliticise opposition to
him and plays into his own game of presenting it simply as being a question of two teams
and picking which side you're on rather thanbasing opposition on the absolutely terrible
politics he holds.

Indeed a problem with the focus on Trump, as terrible as he is is, that he's also much
more of a puppet than a puppet master the people behind him that actually made the
decisions in the Republican Party are the ones who do the real damage and it's fairly
obvious that Trump and his unpopularity will mean that a certain point he will be ditched
and the danger is that the sole focus on Trump as a terrible person is liable to then
diffuse opposition.

There is also a need to acknowledge that many of Trumps terrible policies were there in
weaker forms under the previous administration of Obama. The increasing hostility to
migrants for instance and the stepping up of deportations, the creation of ICE all of
those things happened under the Obama administration Trump no doubt is worse but at the
same time he's part of a trajectory of class rule in the United States that has seen
vulnerable groups being targeted.

Having him in power at the moment with the looming threat of climate change as the 12
years we were given last year become 11, it's obviously a disaster but at the same time
it's very hard to see how the Democratic Party would actually do anything that was
significantly different, certainly not anything even approaching the scale of massive
economic restructuring and collective
decision-making we need.

All of us, all the people on the planet are facing this incredible challenge over the next
11 years if we want to head off climate catastrophe.Essentially we need to restructure the
entire planetary economy. Capitalism is dependent on growth and growth is what's in the
process of killing us, we need to shift to a society that doesn't depend on growth and
that really means a society that's based on the satisfaction of people's needs and not at
all on profits. It's a task for all of us

On June 5 TVP broadcast a "reportage" from the series "Alarm!". According to TVP, it is:
"Reporting TV program on Jedynka, in which journalistic interventions, investigations,
stories about real problems of Poland and Poles appear". This time, Jedynka intervened in
the matter of social activists connected with Rozbrat, who for 25 years have been fighting
against evictions and cleaning houses, terrible working conditions, poverty or social
exclusion. ---- Reportage puts forward the thesis that Poznan is controlled by "leftist
militias" attacking for different views, and in fact blindly even passers-by! As proof of
this, the statements include neo-Nazi Dariusz Pepka. People (which because the previous
sentence is about one?) Those in Poznan have been known for years for Nosto-fascist
activities, and thus, to put it mildly, reluctance towards people with different beliefs,
sexual orientation or skin color. The recurring element of the reportage is a recording
depicting the attack of members of the All-Polish Youth on the anti-nationalist
demonstration in 2017, for which they were sentenced by a final court sentence. According
to TVP, the defeat of the participants of the anti-nationalist demonstration is that they
defended themselves against the brown-haired of the right-wing aggressors. At the said
demonstration, they were gathered together. in. tenant activists, trade unionists,
activists working for the equality of socially excluded people. Below we have links to
media reports from this event.

tvn24.pl

Wielkopolska voice

election newspaper

In the film below, the same "patriots" who attacked the demonstration under the Old
Brewery, assume an attack on the club "Revenge" .

The TVP material also used recordings from the visit to Poznan, the leader of
nationalists, Robert Winnicki, known for his homophobic views and preaching hatred towards
the national minorities present in Poland. Under the premises where the meeting with
Winnicki took place, a demonstration organized by the coalition of Poznan Free of
Nationalism took place. On ul. Shots were also made by counter-demonstrators, extreme
right-wing fans and hooligans shouting racist slogans and inciting to murder their
political enemies. A recording from this event has been preserved on Youtube .

Here is a report from the local information portal

The false information published in the last TVP report from the series "Alarm!" Again
confirms that government media has nothing to do with reliable journalism. Polish
Television focuses more on combating independent social movements than on the transmission
of facts. At the same time, with the help of this type of material, it strengthens the
power of extremely nationalistic groups that promote homophobia, racism, or any other
exclusion aimed at pogroms.

In Marseille, people have been fighting for years against the establishment of the far
right in the neighborhoods. And the police put a spoke in the wheels ... antifascists.
Thanks Macron ! ---- In the Bouches du Rhône, activists French Action (AF) launched the
Social Bastion (BS), a network initiated by the Gud, first in Aix with the opening in
February 2018 of the Bastide. It was then in Marseilles, on March 24, that a hundred
fascists from all over France inaugurated Navarin Street Fort-Notre-Dame, located between
the Old Port and Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. Meanwhile, a thousand protesters marched on the
Canebiere, demanding its ban. ---- This is not a first attempt, the AF has already hosted
a local Navarin street in the district of La Plaine. This time, they hope that it will be
better. Indeed in La Plaine the resistance was quickly organized: local residents and
residents of the local had assembled a collective after threats and racist and sexist
aggression. In this turbulent neighborhood, they had found the support needed to lead a
long-term struggle, victorious after three years: the AF then leaves the Plain for a less
fighting neighborhood where she thinks she can activate without opposition. In memory, she
baptizes her new place by the name of the rue de l'ancien.

500 demonstrators, a little brilliant initiative
In early 2019, the group against the BS revives the mobilization so that the first
anniversary of Navarrese is the last. The announcement by Macron of its dissolution does
not encourage to give up, on the contrary: it is necessary to maintain the pressure so
that the presidential declaration is translated by acts. In the weeks leading up to the
initiative, tugs and signatures of petitions are organized in the neighborhood. On Friday,
March 22, an evening is held in the room of the former printing house of the newspaper La
Marseillaise. It begins with the screening of the first part of Al Jezeera's documentary
"Génération Haine"Shot in hidden camera at the Citadel, the local Lille Identity
Generation. Around 80 people participate in the debate that follows, residents and
residents of Navarin Street are present to talk about their experience.

The mobilization against the Social Bastion had a certain success in March 2018. The same
can not be said of that of March 2019.
The next day is the demonstration. At the starting point, the antifascists mix briefly
with more than a thousand yellow vests (GJ) who had already been demonstrating for several
hours. But when the latter continue on their side, disappointment, we are more than 500,
including forty GJ, unions CGT, FSU, Solidaires and CNT, political organizations including
AL, associations, and anti-fascists, some came to reinforce Paris, Lyon and elsewhere. It
is not brilliant for an initiative carried by forty organizations and prepared for more
than a month ...

The particularly important repressive device is not slow in coming into action. Arrived on
the Canebière, the head of the demonstration is attacked without reason, the demonstrators
and disperse dispersed in disorder. After a flutter, the event is reformed to

I am writing this to dispel a great deal of misinformation spread about me and my public
campaign against CJ Barbers. I am the worker who was exploited by CJ Barbers and I
understand why local businesses are coming out in support of their neighbours. I believe
this comes from a positive place but I think you should know my side of the story before
you come to any conclusions. ---- Before I started working at CJ Barbers I was desperate
for work, desperate to find a stable career and trade I could rely on long-term. I could
not afford private tuition, so to gain experience I was giving out free haircuts for the
homeless on the streets of Brighton. It was while I was promoting this practice on St
James Street that I was approached by a manager at CJ Barbers. After a trial I was told
that they would train me if I worked as an unpaid apprentice for two months and after this
I would be hired officially and paid a full salary. This sort of arrangement is illegal
but is a far too common practice in the barbering trade. Because of the role's illegality
there could not possibly be a contract. I was desperate and overly-trusting, so naively I
agreed.

After beginning work I had a feeling that things weren't right. I was not receiving the
promised education and my time was totally consumed with busy-work. I would be constantly
cleaning the shop and would be assigned P.A. work, such as planning and booking hotels and
flights for the boss's holiday. I mentioned to the managers that I thought that maybe I
should find work elsewhere but I was assured, "Don't give up! Just think - after a few
weeks you'll be on a full salary!" so I persevered.

After two months I approached my boss and enquired about when I would be paid. I was told
that they were pleased with my work and my first pay check would be in two weeks. It was
after this pay day when I only received £100 that I told them I could no longer afford to
work there. I was told there was no hard feelings but when I contacted the following week
for a reference they refused to provide one - despite me working for two months for free
and being told they were pleased with my work. I later found out they also lied about my
progression and ability as a barber. I was told by CJ Barbers that I was nowhere near
ready to cut hair. When I spoke with barbers in other shops I discovered this to be a lie
used to keep me from leaving.

I felt horrible about the whole situation. My trust and my vulnerable situation were
totally exploited. I thought that these people had my best interests at heart but it was
all a facade to use me for free labour until I caught on. This is why I approached SolFed
who informed me of my workers' rights. CJ's did not come close to fulfilling the legal
requirements needed to employ an apprentice or a volunteer - So I was in fact entitled to
minimum wage for this period which would come to £2800. I have evidence to prove I worked
for this entire period.

We gave CJ Barbers plenty to time to respond to our letters and agree to negotiation but
they did not respond so we began our campaign. CJ Barbers have begun to use aggressive and
illegal tactics against us. They have threatened to send my photo out to prevent me ever
working in Sussex again, and they have also expressed interest in using my photo to post
in shops framing me a sexual predator (a completely baseless accusation). They have
approached the local newspapers spreading lies about the nature of our campaign making
verifiably false statements about us. They have even threatened violence against me-
saying they would "sort me out once they find my address".

The reason for this campaign is not just to get the money that I am owed. It is also to
raise awareness and create a precedent to stop these exploitative fake "apprenticeships"
in Brighton and throughout the UK. SolFed has given me the support network and information
I need to begin a larger campaign against these practices. Although CJ Barbers is one of
the worst culprits, the are by no means alone and we aim to use this very public campaign
as a springboard from which to launch our larger mission to end these shady practices in
the UK barbering industry as a whole. A minute step in an ongoing struggle for fairer
treatment for workers across all trades.

On 30 May, in front of the District Court in Warsaw, another meeting was held in the trial
of Rafal Czerski against Poczta Polska. Rafal was dismissed by Poczta Polska for his
involvement in the postmen's protests, including demonstration from April 2017 in which
about 2 thousand participants took part postmen. Rafal demands compensation for
unjustified dismissal and payment of remuneration for free overtime worked. ---- During
the previous meeting, in November 2018, the practices used at the post office in Wolomin
came to light. From the testimonies of the postmen it appeared that each of them had to
pay PLN 40 a month from one of their own employees to sort the list. Not paying this
amount meant that the postman had to sort himself, which in practice prevented all tasks
from being completed within 8 hours of work. After our publication, the post office in
Wolomin created an additional post for a person whose duty is to sort letters for postmen.

During the next hearing, new shortcomings in the organization of work emerged. As the head
of the post and controller showed, no one really checked the real time worked by postmen.
Time mechanics were simply copied to mechanically scheduled times. When asked about the
working time of postmen, the head said that the areas are designated for an eight-hour
work, so real work in the area is 8 hours. The head of post in Wolomin during her
testimony behaved provocatively towards Rafal and pretended that she did not understand
the difference between the work schedule and the work time record.

Of course, the work plans did not take into account the longer working time of postmen
transferred to areas they do not know or to more extensive areas (eg car-operated
cycling). To perform their work in a timely manner, postmen had to work overtime, which
was not paid. From the witnesses' testimony, it also appeared that the correspondence was
not always ready when the postmen were to leave the area, which also made it impossible to
do the work in 8 hours.

The next hearing will take place on December 10, 2019.

On June 2 the Republic celebrates itself with parades and military ceremonies. The
exaltation of the armed forces, the patriotic rhetoric, the celebration of the flag and
the borders are the halls of a narrative that focuses on nationalism, the exclusionary
identity, on which war is hinged to the poor and immigrants. ---- In Turin the military
rite was celebrated in Piazza Castello. There were also antimilitarists. The riot police
have blocked the entrance to Piazza Castello. The non-countries have closed a perimeter
with wires and writings against the borders, blocking via XX Settembre for a short time.
---- The real, tangible borders, but often invisible to most, have become concrete for a
while, so much so that the usual group of digos, who tried without success to seize the
banner "Dead at sea." Salvini and Toninelli assassins ".
The garrison has expanded, putting pressure on chants and slogans. Testimonials about
border violence have been disseminated.
The garrison turned into a procession and reached piazza Castello, where the military
ceremony had just ended. Fumogeni and an antimilitarist draft concluded a day of
information and struggle.

Below is the flyer of the Turin antimilitarist assembly:

"Against all the homelands for a world without borders

Italy is at war. Italian troops are in Afghanistan, Iraq, Val Susa, the Mediterranean and
in the streets of our suburbs, where the enemies are the poor, immigrants, the homeless,
those who oppose a ferocious social order.

Italy is at war. A few steps away from our homes, weapons used in wars everywhere are
being produced and tested. The Italian troops use them in missions of "peace" abroad, the
Italian industries sell them to countries at war. These weapons have killed millions of
people, destroyed towns and villages, irretrievably poisoned entire territories.

Italy is at war. Throughout the country there are military airports, polygons, satellite
control centers, drone launch stations. The general proofs of the conflicts of these years
are made in the bases that occupy the territory everywhere.

Italy is at war. The closed borders of Europe kill men, women and children who flee wars,
poverty, persecution and dictatorships.
People die in the sea, in the desert, in the railway tunnels, on the Alpine passes.

Italy is at war. Whoever promotes wars in the name of humanity pays the butchers of
Tripoli and Ankara so that the refugees are rejected and deported.
Italian ports were closed to NGO ships that saved the shipwrecked, the Italian coast guard
was forbidden to intervene in emergencies at sea. The Libyan coastguard, whose collusion
with the traffickers is well known, sends back to the hell of the migrant prisons people
traveling. In Libyan camps, rape, torture, hunger, blackmail and murder are daily horrors.
The camps are in Libya, those responsible are in government in Italy and in Europe.
The Interior Minister is preparing a new "security" package. Those who give aid to the
shipwrecked, risk very high fines and the withdrawal of the driving license. Seafarers
will have to choose whether to become an accomplice to state killers or lose their boat
and work.

Italy is at war. Every day hundreds of people travel to follow the threads of their lives.
Many try to cross the border with France.
But not everyone arrives. Police and military are themselves a frontier for those who have
no documents, nor will they ever have them. The security package erasing humanitarian
protection has made thousands of people illegal .
The border is a thin line on the maps. Between woods and passes, between the waters of the
Middle Sea, there are no borders: only men in arms that make them true.
The borders between the submerged and the saved are everywhere, far beyond state borders
and customs.
L and borders are almost invisible to those lucky enough to possess a document, to be
white, have citizenship.
For the cardless, every road is a frontier: every day they run the risk of running into a
patrol, of being locked up in CPR or deported thousands of miles away.
A terrible game of the goose: if the dice tell you badly you come back from where you
started years ago, burning your life for a journey that could last a few hours, costing
much less.
The rhetoric on security feeds the identification of the enemy with the poor, aims to
break solidarity among the oppressed, so that they do not become allies against those who
oppress them.

Italy is at war. But everywhere, along the tight frontiers of Europe, there are those who
have decided not to stand idly by and watch the people who die, get lost, sleep in the
street, are driven out by gendarmes and carabinieri.

One day someone might ask us where we were while the children drowned. Where were we when
the government closed the ports? Where were we when the Interior Minister canceled
humanitarian permits for pregnant women, lonely boys, tortured people? Where were we when
racist fury hit the streets?
We would like to be able to answer that we were along the borders that separate, select,
kill. Getting in the middle is possible. It depends on each of us.
If not now, when? If not me, who for me?

Moral revolt is not enough to stop the war, if it does not know how to make itself
concrete resistance.
A no is not enough to stop the war. It is necessary to jam the mechanisms, starting from
our cities, from the territory in which we live, where there are barracks, military bases,
airports, arms factories, armed men patrolling the streets.

Against all armies, against all wars! .
Borders kill. Abbattiamole! "
