Over a million people demonstrated on 9th June in Hong Kong. They were acting against the
threat of changes to the extradition law that would allow people to be deported to the
People's Republic of China. This could mean those politically opposed to the regime in
Beijing , as well as religious dissidents, could end up on the mainland in prison. ----
There were calls on the demonstration for the resignation of Carrie Lam, the chief
official responsible for the proposed changes. Hong Kong is one of the most class-divided
cities in the world with a few multi-millionaires and many living in appalling conditions.
---- The demonstration surrounded the legislative building for several hours. After
midnight the police attacked the crowd with batons and pepper spray. Other demonstrations
in solidarity with the Hong Kong took place in the capital city of Taiwan, Taipei, and in
Tokyo, Toronto, New York and San Francisco. The huge demonstration was preceded by a vigil
of 180,000 on the anniversary of the Tienanmen Square massacre on June 4th. Three days
after the demonstration, tens of thousands of young people again surrounded the
legislative building, whilst a general strike was called at the same time.
Notable was the fact that the youthful demonstrators carried umbrellas to protect
themselves from gas attacks. In 2014 the Umbrella movement mobilised large numbers of
people for occupations of large parts of the city.
The police again responded with pepper spray and water cannons, followed by tear gas and
rubber bullets. As a result, at least 22 people were injured.
What is important about this movement is that the demonstrators are equally opposed to the
regime in the city and to that in Beijing. The movement must unite the students, workers
and the poor and look for solidarity with workers on the mainland. It must not allow
itself to be used by the USA in its escalating campaign against Beijing.

At this moment, the commons and their management are reappearing. The idea of free and
free access to a good or a service seems to have a new look. However, this idea is not
new. It was at the base of the communist currents and especially at the base of the
libertarian communism defined by Kropotkin. Will today's commons disrupt capitalism? ----
For some time now we have been talking about commons. But what is it exactly? Capitalism
organized the economy by privatizing all material goods and social life. Capital has made
goods, allowing profit, appropriate by the ruling class. Everything then becomes a
commodity, and when things are not profitable, it is we who are the commodity. For
example, the Facebook user can connect to the network for free, but all his actions are
analyzed to create Orwellian databases that allow an ultra-precise targeting of
advertising on each individual.
Faced with this process of capitalist conquest of all spheres of life, the common thinkers
want on the contrary to rehabilitate its opposite: the commons. Indeed, even under the
most unbridled capitalism, the market has not completely triumphed: some goods that are
useful to everyone remain shared and without access restriction: if capitalism could
pollute the air, It is nonetheless unlimited, free and freely accessible.
Acaparation by the ruling class
So it is a whole series of goods that are not yet appropriate: this may be the case of
natural resources, such as a pond or fishing reserves, or even intangible resources. For
example, an encyclopedia like Wikipedia works on the principle that each user can also be
a contributor, use and modify the information as they please. The objective is the pooling
of common knowledge, then freely available to all.
To better understand this principle, it must be remembered that before the development of
the capitalist economy, a large part of the lands, pastures and forests belonged in common
to peasants and villagers. In Britain, the XVI th to the XVIII th century, ownership by
the ruling class of the commons that allows what Marx called primitive accumulation of
capital on the basis of the development of capital standards that know it today (on this
subject, it is possible to read Alain Bihr's book, The First Age of Capitalism ).
The theorists of the commons propose to counter this logic of commodification by launching
the extension of the commons, that is to say, goods that would be freely accessible in
this way. Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval propose the generalization of the commons to
face the barbarism of contemporary capitalism. For them, a common is defined by three
things. The first is a resource to share ; the second, a community that will manage
access, and the third, a set of rules to ensure equitable access.
Reinventing communism ?
For us, the current of the commons is interesting, in the sense that it brings back the
idea of sharing everything and leaving the market economy. At a time when "it is easier to
think the end of the world than the end of capitalism" and where the dominant ideology
would make us believe that there is no alternative (the famous "There is no alternative"
Thatcher) did the same to say that capitalism is not an unsurpassable horizon is refreshing.
Nevertheless, if as libertarians we can only agree with the content and the project of
pooling, we must remember that the theorists of the commons did not invent much. Indeed,
the idea of communism (unlike the state collectivism of the USSR, for example) is very
close to what is developed by the "commons". The idea of communism without a state has
been theorized by many thinkers of the labor movement starting with Marx. It is especially
the anarchist current that has theorized a classless, stateless society where all would be
in common. Rather than Proudhon, who wanted to preserve a form of market and wage labor,
it is on the side of Kropotkin that we can look for the most interesting references on
this subject.
The current of the commons is interesting, in the sense that it brings up to date the idea
of sharing everything.
Repeating the adage "of each according to his means to each according to his needs", he
advocated "taking the pile That is to say, the direct, gratuitous and unconditional
sharing of what was produced, without the mediation of wage labor or money, these basic
elements of capitalism, which he proposed to abolish. Such ideas of direct sharing and
sharing were put into practice during the Spanish Revolution of 1936. In Aragon, some
communities inspired by libertarian communist ideas have thus tried to put everything
directly in common - and things do not happen. did not work any worse in these
communities. If other experiments were less radical in their attempt to implement
libertarian communism, retaining money and wage labor, the whole was clearly in a
perspective of pooling. It will be the fascist armies of Franco that will put a stop to
these very interesting experiences.
And the social revolution in there ?
All this to say that the ideas developed by the current of "common They are simply
resuming the projects of the various non-authoritarian communist currents, be they
libertarian communists or communist councilists, but with a hindsight: the fact of not
thinking directly of the necessity of a social revolution to get there. Indeed, the
thinkers of the commons seem to forget that capitalism is based in the shadow of very
powerful states and that wherever it has imposed itself, it is through violence,
repression and over the years. sword. It is also through oppression and violence that it
is maintained, as we are reminded darkly the exceptional repression suffered by the yellow
vests, while they are only asking for their rights and more social justice. This unthought
of the revolutionary question is therefore a serious limit of the thought of the commons.
Nevertheless, as we have said, in a period when it is difficult to think of any other
system than that of capitalism out of breath, we can only welcome the thinkers of the
"commons", but perhaps they would win to integrate the contribution of the labor movement
and especially of its libertarian communist components.

Autonomous Block composed the act in the General Strike with great participation of the
population. The Block showed the strength of the independent sectors in Florianópolis,
adding in the fight against the pension reform and making the dispute with the
student-union fights and the electoral parties that are articulated to support the reform
of Bolsonaro while using Greve as a platform. Only the combative fight can make the
enemies of the people retreat, build the Autonomous Block! It's no use just walking, if
not stop the reform will pass! General Strike is not the electoral platform!

We're back to normal programming! Police and bourgeois media criminalize protesters! ----
The demonstration of yesterday's general strike in Rio de Janeiro was attended by
thousands of people, representing several categories on strike, as well as various
students and sectors of the working class as a whole against pension reform. However,
around 7:30 pm the act was violently suppressed by the Military Police with bombs of moral
effect and tear gas thrown randomly on the mass of demonstrators in several directions.
---- Police say they have found a backpack with Molotov cocktails (a strapped backpack in
the middle of the street) as if this were proof of something. As if the police themselves,
as it did several times in 2013 (and proved) could not have forged blatant to legitimize
repression.
Let's be alert! Contrary to the media coverage of the massacres against the education cuts
on May 15 and 30, now the bourgeois media, aligned with the bolsonarismo and the financial
market, started their "classic offensive" of criminalization of the demonstrators, since
the "pension reform" concerns these sectors. Your goals are to destroy our retirement and
workers' rights!
112 was the number of people detained during anti-pension reform demonstrations throughout
the country. The goal is clear: to criminalize one sector of the demonstrators and to
justify police repression. The attempt to separate the protesters into "orderly and
peaceful" versus the "infiltrated masked vandals" is intended to intimidate the population
into leaving the streets.
However, in the case of RJ, Globo's own images show a generalized repression that belies
its own narrative. Let's not let the bourgeois media's discourse create divisions within
the workers' movements that are fighting against the attack on the solidarity system of
public welfare.
All solidarity with the workers still in jail and those who will respond to lawsuits!
Our struggle continues! Let's look for information beyond what we are sold! Seek
independent and alternative media! Look for the pages of anarchist organizations and
popular movements. There are great information vehicles from the most varied and most
important: organize yourself in your workplace, study and housing to fight!
Break the siege of bourgeois media lies! Defeating the pension reform!
"It's a barricade, general strike! Direct action that overthrows capital "

The Aéroports de Paris group's proposed sale is increasingly contested. The collection of
signatures for the organization of a referendum on the issue is now an important aspect.
This challenge must be an opportunity to defend all public services and to question the
very principle of ownership of the means of production and exchange. ---- Today, ADP
belongs to the state and not to the entire population. The company remains under the
control of politicians and senior officials, but it is not used to fatten private
monopolies. ---- We say it with force: it is to those who work, to those who make society
turn every day, to decide directions in the production of transport, large industry or
health. The question that is asked is that of socialization and self-management of public
services. Selling them privately is as socially disastrous as it is economically
irrational. But we can only count on ourselves: politicians will never hold a referendum
for this.
As for the recently initiated referendum process, it remains a simulacrum of direct
democracy. A number of 4.7 million signatures is required: it's colossal !
The website used by the organization is not accessible to the greatest number and
publishes the list of signatories ... and the government is not even required to go to the
referendum itself.
We believe, however, that we can seize this moment to launch a wide public debate across
the country on the destruction of public services.
Because it's not just about ADP: it's about closed schools, rail open to competition,
highways that are sold off to capitalist monopolies, and everything the bosses have stolen
from workers over the past decades. .
For the Libyan Communist Union, whether one wishes to take part in the collection of
signatures or not, the essential thing is to be in the fight against the privatization of ADP.
In this sense, we call each and everyone to get involved in the initiatives that the
social and trade union movement can take to defend ADP.
What must be at the heart of the debate is the social reappropriation and self-management
of the major means of production and public services.
Let's fight against all the offensives of the government. Against capitalist looting,
let's organize the resistance !
