The Green Anti-Capitalist Front is an alliance of groups and individuals united by a
belief that capitalism is one of the core causes of the environmental crisis threatening
us all, and that if we do not act soon the costs of that crisis will fall on the poor and
powerless. Check out our manifesto here: https://greenanticapitalist.org/ ---- To help
spread an understanding of the need for an anti-capitalist analysis in any environmental
movement we're coming to Brighton to discuss our manifesto, why we started and what we've
got planned. Hopefully, spurring on activity in the area and making our network less
London-centric. ---- This will be a double-header with the Anarchist Federation who will
present one version of what a future society might look like: anarchist communism.
Come for the politics, stay for the Cowley Club's vegan beer and cider festival!

Involvement in the public means DEPRESSION from the elections of delegation,
representation, false hope, supposed change. ---- "Vote for us so that the right does not
come," "vote for them to leave SYRIZA", "vote for them so that the fascists will not be
strengthened", "voted for them to strengthen your voice", " voted for the good for a
better future, "or" with the fascists or with us "," with us to get the place out, ""
privatization or the social state ". ---- Countless pseudo-dilemmas that once again bring
back the bourgeoisie on the occasion of the upcoming elections. Dilemmas that have been
built and served by citizens who are rehearsing for citizens. After the governments of
national unity, the appointed prime ministers, the referendum that re-socialized the
institutions of representation, parliamentary regularity reminds again the brilliant and
bipartite 1980s / 1990s. Artificial polarization around non-existent issues such as
citizen security, favoritism, reform bidding, black promises, blobs, fascist crowns. The
whole spectrum of parliamentarism in election campaign parade.Primary role plays the
media, which is a dominant means of manipulating the bottom. Through spectacle,
propaganda, news, and "events", they serve the interests of power. Its countless
contenders invest time and money in propaganda campaigns calling everyone and all of us to
"participate" in the democracy fest by depositing a piece of paper in a wooden box every
four years. The institution of the elections is presented as the top instrument of
politicization, where voters participate in decision-making and are supposedly co-managers
of power. Participation in the elections is the same as the concept of politics. Voters in
this way become members of the state and the deputies, their representatives on land
...Democracy, or just the celebration of mediation and commissioning!

Election participation is a denial of your own self-management. The vote is suited to
passive consumers, who entrust professionals to "manage everything". Elected
representatives, being elected using every means, ranging from promises and promises to
direct chores, are called upon to legislate and implement policies across all disciplines
defining every aspect of our lives. Election participation acts as a means of legitimizing
and passively supporting the system of exploitation and oppression. Elections are nothing
more than a mechanism of consensus building. The only choice made through the elections is
that of the dynast and the elected, regardless of intent, act as representatives of
capital. It is not at all arbitrary how many professional politicians are involved in
interference scandals with private companies (Siemens, NOVARTIS, AKTOR, THALES, Ellinikos
Xrysos SA, MEVGAL, Deutsche Telekom, some examples), and the phenomena of extreme
enrichment of members of the "National Delegation". Whether small or large the forces that
promote the assignment, they will always cluster and serve the interests of capital. This
is not a Greek accident or an exception, but the essence of parliamentarianism.

The only person competent and able to manage his / her life is himself / herself
oppressed, the exploited. No bureaucratic and hierarchical group hoping for power, either
"conservative" or "progressive", will not take care of the needs of the bottom. As
anarchists, we consider the daily struggle against state and capital to participate in the
elections incompatible. The logic of "our inferior optimal" is alien.Participation in
electoral processes costs ideological consistency, but also political dynamics. Our goal
is not simply to abstain from the elections, but also to re-pursue politics and to
identify it with uninterrupted procedures, with self-organization and anti-command.
Besides, the bottom-up story has shown that sharpening the uninterrupted struggle away
from and against institutional illusions is the only way for oppressed and exploited to
defend their interests and resist capitalist barbarism. The solution for us is not to
"bother them in democracy", but to abstain from their feast and to resist their
imperatives. Against the pseudo-dilemmas,solidarity, self-organized structures,
neighborhood assemblies, political hangouts, grassroots clubs, anti-hierarchical
collectivities, Communists, and the revolution of every day.

Why the election outpouring for us means civic participation.

Self-organized, anti-hierarchical, radical struggles to overthrow state and capitalist
barbarism, anarchy and communism.

CJ Barbers yet again resorted to violence against union members on Thursday as our
campaign to get our member's unpaid wages back continues. ---- In a remarkable
demonstration of aggression, the owner Hamid Karam and the manager Cyrus Shabani smashed
up their own wooden chairs in the middle of the road, wielded the remains at picketers,
pushed and hit multiple people, and choked one member before throwing him across the
street in front of traffic. They also snatched members' phones out of their hands as they
were filming the disgusting behaviour, smashing one phone in the process. --- Fortunately,
none of our members have been seriously hurt. Nobody other than the manager and owner of
CJ Barbers participated in any acts of violence. The incident caused traffic in the street
to be blocked for around fifteen minutes.

In an additionally bizarre escalation, Mr Karam stripped half-naked in front of a bus he
had stopped, bellowing and swearing loudly about his taxes. Both men shouted very loudly
and aggressively and swore, despite entreaties from passers by to stop due to the presence
of children nearby.

This is not the first time our members have been assaulted by Mr Shabani or Mr Karam. Last
week, a female member was grabbed and pushed at a picket, and they have made death threats
against members on previous occasions also. This on top of their attempts to slander and
blacklist the worker, as reported on this site previously.

Brighton SolFed utterly and unreservedly condemns this use of violence against workers who
are standing up peacefully for their rights. We call on the friends of CJ Barbers to
pressure them to meet our very reasonable offers of negotiation, which have so far all
been rejected, and not to condone the perpetuation of any further violence.

We held another picket this morning which was very successful, with no acts of violence
from the business. We received a lot of support from local residents, including people who
had seen or heard about the disgusting actions on Thursday. No customers entered the shop
whilst the picket was ongoing.

We will not be intimidated by acts or threats of violence, which have no bearing on the
fact that this business owes its worker over £2800 in unpaid wages.

We will continue to escalate our campaign, things will only get worse for CJ Barbers if
they continue to refuse to pay their worker the minimum wage.

Footage of Thursday's events is to follow.

To close (for now) our ‘season' of anarchist organising reading groups we will look into
the more practical examples of organisation with the following texts. Bearing in mind that
these are not ‘manuals', but require a critical approach: ----
https://archive.org/details/zabalaza_2010_anarchist_reader ----
https://archive.org/details/al_Rob_Sparrow_Anarchist_Politics__Direct_Action_a4 ----
Questions to consider: ---- - What types of power and power relationships are prevalent in
political organising and how can they be utilised? ---- - How does anti-authoritarian
influence work? ---- - How to prepare direct action? ---- We would also encourage everyone
to think of an example of successful or unsuccessful anarchist/anti-authoritarian
organising, contemporary or historical, small- or large-scale, within a movement or as an
autonomous project, which we can discuss applying the theory we have read in the last
couple of months.

On 1 st  November 1954, the uprising broke out in Algeria. Three days later the French
government banned the Movement for the Triumph of Democratic Freedoms (MTLD), the main
Algerian independence party. Its charismatic leader, Messali Hadj, veteran of the
anticolonial cause, was then under house arrest in the Vendée. ---- In reality, the
insurgency had not been fomented by the MTLD but by its "  activist  " fringe , tired of
the party's stagnation, and who saw the taking of arms as a vital shock to revive the
independence struggle. ---- The majority of the party, under the leadership of Messali
Hadj, was to reform under the name of the Algerian National Movement (MNA), while the
activists generated the National Liberation Front (FLN). During the following months and
years, the MNA tried to regain control but, to the amazement of Messali and his followers,
convinced of their historical legitimacy, the FLN continued to gain ground. And blew the
blood to reduce his competitor to silence: assassinated leaders, maquis MNA eliminated by
the FLN, until the complete massacre of 300 villagers messalists ...

This fratricidal war killed nearly 4,000 people and 6,000 wounded until 1962. And the
French state took advantage of it by exploiting certain cadres of the MNA who placed
themselves under his protection.

All of this is relatively well known. What is less so is the political orientations of the
MNA. The historian Nedjib Sidi Moussa studied them in their evolution. The impression that
there is left is that of a political party distraught by its rapid decline, sometimes
adopting positions to break its isolation or to stand out from its hegemonic rival. He
thus focuses on his relations with the Trotskyist PCI (an alliance of "  outsiders  "),
its evolution on the national question (should the new Algeria be restricted to an "
Arab-Muslim  " identity , or be more inclusive), its fluctuations on the Palestinian
question or its timid progress on the emancipation of women, notably through its union
appendix, the Algerian Trade Union of Algerian Workers (USTA).

After independence, the Algerian Republic proscribed the Messengers and erased the MNA
from history books for twenty years. It was not until 1982 that ex-President Ben Bellah,
ostracized after the 1965 putsch, exhumed the memory of Messali Hadj. The memory of
Messiah will then regularly surface, despite government censorship. To recall his memory
was to recall the possibility of pluralism in the Algerian revolution.

Dozens of anarchists invaded the Cathedral of Turin during the celebration of the Corpus
Christi Mass on Thursday night, June 6. Activists entered the church one at a time and
then interrupted Archbishop Cesare Nosiglia's homily by shouting slogans and handing out
pamphlets in solidarity to two anarchist prisoners at the L'Aquila prison on hunger
strike, Silvia Ruggeri and Anna Beniamino. Agents of Digos (General Investigations
Division and Special Operations) and a police patrol intervened to expel the demonstrators
from the cathedral. The group then proceeded to Porta Palazzo and tried to enter the
Central Market, but was blocked. A team from the mobile police department and a Digos
patrol arrived on the scene and identified 30 anarchists, mostly linked to the city's busy
spaces.

The protest

In the pamphlets distributed in the church, one could read:  "Immediately close the
section of the high-security women of the prison of L'Aquila. Neither Anna nor Silvia or
any other prisoner in that tomb! " . The protest refers to the conditions of Silvia and
Anna, detained in L'Aquila prison and who have been on hunger strike for several days to
request the transfer and closure of the disgusting AS2 section of women. Silvia was
arrested on 7 February during the eviction of the former Occupato Asilo on Via Alessandria
in Turin. Anna was arrested on September 6, 2016 as part of the Scripta Manent operation.

My Impression was that if he had said I buried carrie under the floorboards but the police
didn't find her he's have been cheered to the rafters - a rampant and physical misogyny
pervades the audience.........so what is to be done in the next 4 weks'
There is no planned opposition from any of the left so our tiny band of class warriors
after a couple of false starts is organising 2 actions to which all are invited. we have
to put up a fight comrades.
JULY 17th tory leaders hustings in London - don't know where yet - but we need to be there
and July 22nd Boris is declared pm....we need to be there as he drives to thepalace.
An insurrection without a hope of success - the Munich Soviet, The Easter rising- doomed
women and men - BE THERE
