Dear friends –
This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City. All around the world, we're coming together in Pride to celebrate the defiance of these brave activists who sparked the beginning of an incredible movement for equality that changed the world.
Because of their courage, we've seen huge improvements in the lives of millions of LGBT+ people. They paved the way for recent victories like the repeal of the anti-gay law in Botswana and marriage equality in Taiwan and Ecuador.
But the fight is far from over. Every day, LGBT+ people across the globe are still forced to sacrifice their family or freedom, safety or dignity, because of who they are or who they love.
Here at All Out, "Pride" means honoring the legacy of Stonewall and keeping up the fight; to keep pushing for a world where we can all live safely and freely.
But we all have our stories and reasons for joining this movement. Together, our collective voices make a beautiful tapestry that could cover the world with love.
That's why this Pride month we want to know, what does Pride mean to YOU?
Share your #PrideStory and join a global conversation with All Out members from around the world. Here's how:
- Create a short video on Instagram or Facebook Stories and tell us in 15 seconds what Pride means to you.
- Publish your story using the hashtag #PrideStory and tag @weareallout on Instagram or @AllOutOrg on Facebook.
It's as simple as that. We'll select some of our favorite stories to share with All Out members around the world.
