On Saturday, July 20, "Yellow Vests" held the next, 36th Saturday "protest day" throughout
France. Among the most significant actions were the internationalist "March for Adam" and
the opening for free passage of checkpoints on toll roads. ---- Various actions of "Yellow
vests" were held in Avignon, Angers, Ancenis, Bandol, Besancon, Belfort, Biarritz,
Bomon-sur-Oise, Bordeaux, Givore, Langon, Lille, Martigues, Montallier-Versier,
Montpellier, Montelimar, Nantes, Paris , Pau, Rennes, Saint-Julien,
Saint-Romain-de-Kolbosk, Saint-Helene-sur-Isere, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Schwendratskheime
... ---- March for Adam ---- The main theme of the 36th "day of protest" was police
violence. Yellow Vests joined the Justice for Adama Traoré movement to organize a joint
protest march to Beaumont Sur Oise. The Justice for Adama movement emerged in 2016 after
Adam Traoré, 24, was arrested by gendarmes during a search of his home in Beaumont Sur
Oise and died in a police station. Railway workers, human rights organizations, Amnesty
International, local youth, residents of the suburbs, etc. also took part in a march on
Saturday in this town. The demonstrators made their first stop at the gendarmerie gate,
where they began to boo and curse the security forces of the capitalist order.

It should be noted that railroad workers took part in the march. "We support them from the
very beginning. Last year, during the railway reform, we were also repressed," said Laura
from the Paris-North region. "We are confronted by the same enemy: those who send forces
of order to injure people, to kill in neighborhoods and overwhelm workers who hold
demonstrations. We have to support each other. "

In the crowd of protesters one could see young people, pensioners, families with children
... Some of them came from afar, such as a group of 19-year-old girls from Burgundy. They
came specifically to participate in this demonstration. "Police violence has been hitting
the neighborhoods for a long time, but only since last year, with the advent of Yellow
Vests, they began to really talk about it," one of them explains. "I didn't even realize
how much of this was happening abnormal. "

"This march, along with the Yellow Vests, is a big step in the fight against police
violence," said Adama's sister, Assa Traore. "We want the march for Adam in 2020, but a
process."

"Today, the 36th act of the Yellow Vests is also taking place; "If you live in Paris,
every day you see how" colored "people are subjected to checks under various pretexts,"
says Antoine, a participant in the Yellow Vests movement from Paris. "We understand them
because we ourselves are victims of repression."

After the march arrived at the stadium in the Bayeenval quarter, as part of a day of
protest against authoritarianism, seminars were organized. Their goal was to gather people
from neighborhoods, activists and members of the Yellow Vests movement to discuss the
organization of new joint activities after the end of the holiday season. "The battle for
Adam went beyond the neighborhoods," one of the "yellow vests" explained. "It shed light
on the repressive system that we all are victims of"

Street battles in Montpellier

The masses of activists of the "yellow vests" and "black bloc" gave battle to the forces
of the capitalist order in Montpellier. A large demonstration was held under the motto
"Let the thunder clap!" ("Ça va péter"). These words were written on the banner, followed
by the protesters. Marsh moved from the Comedy Square, where the demonstrators smashed the
bank windows of the Bank Populer du Midi. Clashes with the police occurred at the
prefecture; The forces of the capitalist order let the gas. Then the object of
confrontation was the quarter of Antigonus. Tram stops, benches, a post office building
and a municipal office building suffered as a result of attacks by demonstrators in
Europe's square. Protesters set fire to garbage containers and erected barricades. Stones
and bottles were thrown at policemen who allowed tear gas.

In other cities

In Nantes, masses of protesters gathered for the rally under the slogan "Where is Steve?".
A lively chain stretched along the embankment of Wilson on the Loire. 24-year-old Steve
Maiya Caniço disappeared during a brutal police attack on a music festival a month ago.
The protesters said they had come to demand the truth about the disappearance of the young
man and to express their solidarity. They blame the police for his disappearance. Among
those who came were activists of the "yellow vests." "It's not normal when children come
to have fun, and as a result lose their lives," explained Jennifer, who came to share with
her husband and 5-year-old daughter (

In Lyon, "yellow vests" gathered on the square of Antonin Ponce and divided into two
groups, which went, respectively, to the hospitals named after E. Herriot and the
"Croix-Russ". Protesters demanded, among other things, the restoration of free parking at
hospitals
(https://www.gj-magazine.com/gj/acte-36-lyon-les-gilets-jaunes-demandent-la-gratuite-des-parkings-des-hopitaux/)

In Toulouse, the "yellow vests" held two demonstrations - against police violence
(gathering at the metro station Jean Jaures) and "demonstration of the suburbs" (gathering
on the square near the metro station in the suburb of Reineri). "We will continue this
fight against police violence and repression against the movement, in support of all those
who were injured and tortured by the police," one participant explained. The fact that the
manifestation began in Rayneri is viewed by "yellow vests" as advancing the idea of
combining with the struggle of the suburbs. Over the past few Saturdays, their activists
have been occupying a roundabout in the Mirai quarter, promoting such a connection. The
call was distributed in social networks: "All our quarters are in yellow vests."

Last year, a series of riots occurred in the poor quarter of Rainieri after the death of
one of the residents at the police station. Riots were crushed with extreme cruelty. The
march from Rayneri to the center of Toulouse gathered hundreds of people and throughout
its journey, residents and approving motorists warmly welcomed it. During the
demonstration, people chanted: "Where is Steve?" and demanded justice for the affairs of
Adama and other victims of police terror. In the city another one joined this column.
Together he came to express his protest at the Palace of Justice, where they encountered
powerful police barriers ...

  Free pass

A typical example of actions, when "yellow vests" occupy checkpoints on toll roads and
free of charge by automakers, was the action on the A7 highway in Montelimar. Those who
went on vacation were no doubt satisfied with this action

In July 2015, 33 revolutionary, killer states and ISIS gangs were killed by the ISIS
gangs, which set out to rebuild Kobanê, a city that was destroyed and plundered by ISIS
gangs. In commemoration of the massacred revolutionaries, in the 4th year of the Suruç
Massacre, commemorations were made in Istanbul Kadiköy and Ankara Kizilay with the call of
Youth Organizations including Anarchist Youth. ---- At the time of the massacre 4 years
ago, commemorations took place at the graves of our comrades who were massacred by the
killer state and ISIS gangs. 33 dream passengers were promised to ask for the account of
what was done to complete the unfinished dreams. ---- All the revolutionaries gathered at
18.00 in Kadiköy, Halitaga Street, Youth Organizations, families of those who lost their
lives in Suruç Massacre and solidarity. The murderer state and ISIS gangs were screamed
that the massacred people lived in the struggle. Throughout the sit-in, the families of
those living on that day and the families of our murdered comrades gave speeches.

The injustice, oppression and violence that have continued since the massacre continued in
Istanbul and Ankara against those gathered to commemorate them.
Following the sit-in in Istanbul, while the march towards the Süreyya Opera House, the
meeting point for the memorial event in Mehmet Ayvalitas Park, the assassin state's
assassin police began their uninterrupted attacks here. Similarly, in Ankara, on the call
of Youth Organizations including Karala, those who came together for action on Sakarya
Street were subjected to police attacks. 8 revolutionary detained. With the ongoing
gatherings in Kizilay after the attack, it was once again shown that it would not step
back against the murderer state. The revolutionaries who did not leave the streets showed
that the struggle for Justice for Suruç could not be ended with attacks.

KADIKÖY IS A BARRIER Those
who forced the revolutionaries to step back with their attacks, detentions and
intimidation policies once again saw that Kadikoy was the barricade of the
revolutionaries. 33 comrades, our friends were fighting in the streets of Kadikoy, where
the fight was shown again in the square. The violence of the police was responded by
narrowing the streets of Kadiköy to those who tried to suppress the anger of the
revolutionaries. It was once again shown that Kadiköy was a field of resistance and
struggle with slogans, barricades and determined police attacks.
Continuing their attacks without interruption, the police detained 20 revolutionaries,
including 3 of our comrades from the Anarchist Youth. From the Chalcedon to Bahariye
Street, barricades were erected on all the streets of Kadiköy.
The fight of the 33 anarchist and socialist revolutionaries killed in Suruç is our fight.
The journey of dream passengers cannot be ended with bombs, attacks, detentions and
intimidation. Their fight, our fight will continue!

Long live the Revolution!
Long live Anarchism!

One of the reasons why anarchists are seen as a self-absorbed bunch is that they do not
trust the idea of political representation. The media and the powers that be create an
illusion that the majority of population are deeply invested in elections and keen to cast
their vote for a candidate or a party that would "defend" their interests. Since there is
a belief that a liberal democracy empowers its citizens through representation, anarchism
is dismissed as an antisocial perspective. This seems to be wrong since it disenfranchises
the electorate and widens a rift between state institutions and the public. While many
people feel compelled to vote, anarchists are vocally skeptical about the naive enthusiasm
around the mindless delegation of power to political elites. Therefore, anarchism is
lambasted as a marginal and counterproductive position when it comes to political
representation. This criticism is demonstrably false.

There are strong reasons for anarchists to be wary of political representation.
Furthermore, the Anarchist view of representation is organically woven into the popular
attitudes to politics.

First, elections are open only to eligible voters. To make matters worse, since only a
fraction of the elected representatives assumes control over the government, it is always
a small minority that decides the crucial outcome of any election. In a liberal democracy,
a minority of people elects a tiny group of individuals who run the state. The majority of
population does not participate in elections, and most voices are not heard. Anarchists
are thus in solidarity with most ordinary people.

Secondly, many voters participate in elections to protest against the elites and challenge
the status quo. They see it as an act of resistance and a rebuke to the system. People
comply with its operation in the hope that the candidates they elect will destroy it from
within. Hence more and more anti-establishment candidates enjoy popularity with
disgruntled voters. Anarchists do not disagree that the system needs to change and would
be happy to help dismantle it. However, there is a clear recognition that once inside the
system political actors will inevitably become part of the establishment and serve the
interests of the few to the detriment and subjection of society at large. This has been
proven time and time again.

Finally, many people feel that representation does not work and regard as hypocrites any
politicians who claim to represent them. While some can be hoodwinked into delegating
power and voting in elections, only a tiny minority aspires to become politicians. The
establishment are the real fringe that wields power and runs the state apparatus.

Most of us do not seek to become politicians because we recognize the fraudulent nature of
representation. If you ask why someone does not wish to be a politician, they will most
probably reply that politics is corrupt. Then they might admit they do not think it is a
real job and say they hate hypocrisy in which all politicians eventually engage.

It is not rocket science to understand that political representation is a hoax. Not being
a politician is a matter of common sense and decency. The refusal to represent others in
political institutions is not a rare attitude, but a deep-seated conviction of the vast
majority of people.

Anarchists can reach the wider public if they manage to draw attention to this paradox of
the human condition: perhaps political propaganda has persuaded a plurality of citizens
that voting in elections can be good for them, but the overwhelming majority still
intuitively rejects the prospect of becoming a politician. It is one thing to delegate
power, and quite another to exercise it over others.

Most of us can tolerate some kind and degree of violence, but ultimately refuse to take
responsibility for the brutal oppression of fellow humans. We share the vision that it is
inhumane to subjugate others and do not want to be in charge of an unfair and violent
system. People can be misled to accept tyranny, but humanity cannot be defeated or fully
eradicated - refusing to top the political pyramid is a form of resistance that stems from
common human dignity and freedom. Anarchy thus remains at the heart of being human. Colin
Ward concludes his book "Anarchy in Action" (1973) by saying that "anarchism in all its
guises is an assertion of human dignity and responsibility. It is not a programme for
political change but an act of social self-determination."

In this light, the current populist trend threatens to damage humanity, as more and more
people are drawn into political machinery. For those who have bought into the promise of
changing government institutions from inside, a reality check is just around the corner:
these idealistic contrarians will become the thing they hate - the elite oppressors.
Staying away from politics thus means refusing to be a functional cog in the machine. It
is an Anarchist principle that most people can appreciate and find sensible.

Anarchy is not the exclusive preserve of a slim minority, but the underlying fabric of
society. Ward argues that "an Anarchist society, a society which organizes itself without
authority, is always in existence, like a seed beneath the snow, buried under the weight
of the state and its bureaucracy, capitalism and its waste, privilege and its injustices,
Nationalism and its suicidal loyalties, religious differences and their superstitious
separatism."

At their most humane, people are already kind-hearted Anarchists who do not wish to harm
and oppress each other. If only more of us could see how misguided and injurious political
representation really is. It stifles and constrains our humanity. At the level of
intuition, most humans do actually grasp the perverse influence of representation as they
do not want to become politicians. ?

Department at the University of Freiburg. He comes from Luhansk, Ukraine.

Documents of the Revolutionary Majnovista (1917-1921) ---- To unravel the facts of the
Makhnovist Revolution, we have the chronicles of some of its protagonists in the different
opposing camps, and other, more rare testimonies of people who did not militarize in any
of them. If we add to this the large number of documents such as: periodicals, minutes of
conferences and meetings, manifestos and proclamations, the fundamental basis for the
historical knowledge of that process is complete. From these primary sources, many authors
have undertaken the task of elaborating an account of what happened and reaching an
interpretation of the factors that conditioned it, as well as its influence in the
context, enormously complex, in which it was framed.

Among these works, an essential group is made up of the writings of Soviet historians. The
victory of the Bolsheviks in what was called "Little Civil War" generated attempts to
devise an explanation for the mysterious fact that a revolt in a relatively small area
would have been able to bring the Red Army into check for so long. The conclusions of
these authors are characterized, as we will see, by a gross disfigurement of the movement,
attributing features devoid of documentary basis, but which served to justify what
happened, while disqualifying the enemies and excusing the repression unleashed against them.

The bad news when we try to get closer to this Soviet historiography about the
Makhnovschina is that they are difficult texts to find and that they have hardly been
translated. The good news is that several authors, and mainly Alexander Skirda, present
summaries of these sources in some works that are quoted at the end of this article. My
intention has been only to synthesize the data provided there with the aim of awakening
the interest of readers towards the pages that expose the matter in greater detail.

A problem to approach this synthesis is that the image of the Majnovista Revolution
proposed by the Soviet authors is changing with the vicissitudes of the history of the
USSR, and this makes it necessary to treat separately the publications that correspond to
the different moments of it. We will find ourselves like this, if I am allowed the musical
simile, with a symphony in four movements, in which some main themes are repeated and
intertwined, while the changes we observe in orchestration, rhythm and treatment of the
motifs illustrate us about the evolution of the regime.

First movement: 20s

In Russia and Ukraine, at the time of the revolt, several groups of peasants distinguished
themselves: rich (Kulaki), who exploited the work of others; means (seredniakí); poor
(bedniakí) and hired laborers (batrakí). The primary sources available clearly indicate
that the Makhnovists defended the interests of the poorest through the expropriation of
landlords and kulaks or kulaks, and the formation of self-managed rural communes. However,
a recurrent accusation against them is going to be a supposed character of "kulak
movement". This infundium appears for the first time on June 2, 1919 in an article by
Trotsky, but it will have enormous success in later Soviet historiography.

The works of this first period are valuable, in any case, because they provide a great
amount of hemerographic and documentary data of great interest. The most rigorous and
well-founded work of this period is the one published in 1927 by Mikhail I. Kubanin, a
member of the left opposition who will die in the Stalinist purges, in 1941. He maintains
that the movement acted correctly and defended the interests of the poorer peasants during
1918 (fight against the Austro-German occupation) and 1919 (fight against the whites), and
only went astray by the end of that year, when the influence of the kulaks within him led
to the break with the Soviet state. On the other hand, he admits that until 1920 there is
no evidence of banditry or looting of the Makhnovists, but, on the contrary,

It is Kubanin who also discovers and edits an alleged diary of the wife of Néstor Majnó,
which contains serious accusations of summary executions by the insurgents. These were
rebutted by Batko himself. Subsequently, VN Litvínov in a study on this document made in
1990 concludes that it is probably a falsification concocted by the Cheká.

Second movement: the Stalin era

We have to wait long enough for a new work of some extent to appear on the USSR to deal
with the Makhnovist Revolution. Ye. M. Yaroslavski in his 1937 book on anarchism in
Russia, translated into several languages, recognizes that the movement favored the fight
against reaction at times, but picks up the most serious and unfounded accusations against
him to outline the image of bandits -kulaks hostile to the "Soviet power" that there was
no choice but to exterminate. In any case, Yaroslavski does not cease to lend a hand to
certain currents of anarchism, mainly anarcho-syndicalists, who did not hesitate to
collaborate with the "Soviet power" or, while he was writing, they considered taking on
governmental responsibilities in Spain.

In the wake of this book, the first edition (1938) of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia
defines the Makhnovschina as a "Movement of kulaks, anarchists and white guards (...), who
practiced anti-Semitic pogroms, savage looting and murders of communists." those the years
also in which Trotsky revisits the subject in some of his last texts. The founder of the
Red Army is not able to realize that he himself served at that time the brutal machine
that is now pursuing him and is about to destroy him. Against the slab only the usual
false coins sound: kulaks, reactionaries, bandits, anti-Semites ...

Third movement: postestalinismo

Certainly, we can not speak of thaw after the death of Stalin for the matter at hand. In
his 1964 work, I. Ya. Trífonov reproduces all the denigratory clichés mentioned, although
he captures the spirit of his own time, proposing for the first time that the Makhnovist
Revolution was inspired and organized by international imperialism. He completes his work
with a ruthless critique of the most positive aspects of the analysis of the already
murdered Kubanin. The writings

In the history of the left-radical movement of Russia at the end of the 20th century, at
least one attempt to "capture" a small town is known. This was the Kasimov Alternative
project for 1998-2002. In 1998-1999, during a campaign of protest against the construction
of a plant for processing non-ferrous metals near the city of Kasimov, Ryazan Region,
radical ecologists from the movement "Rainbow Keepers" met with great public support. ----
More than a thousand local residents gathered for meetings organized by the guardians. A
number of adult activists of the movement acquired two wooden houses on the outskirts of
the city, settled in them, and this place was officially called the headquarters of the
Rainbow Keepers movement. Having settled here, activists immediately entered into a
confrontation with the local administration, which at a certain stage reached the point
that leaflets were sent to Kasimov's mailboxes in which the city administration tried to
explain the destructive nature of the anarchists. It must be said that the actions of the
administration of the city of Kasimov in this case were not very clever. They only made
additional advertising to anarchists. In response, the guardians began to publish the
newspaper Path to Freedom, the name of which was chosen by analogy with the newspaper of
the Rebel Army Makhno, - and also began to go home and shove it in the mailboxes of
citizens. There were at least four issues of this newspaper.

In the left-wing radical movement of Russia, the headquarters of the guardians gradually
began to fulfill the same role as the "bunker" - the headquarters of the NBP in Moscow.
From different cities of Russia, anarchists, social activists and simply party-goers
began to gather in Kasimov from time to time. And although the headquarters was not very
close to large cities, it gradually turned into a place of constant circulation of young
activists. Various kinds of meetings were held on its basis, one of the most complete
archives on the anarchist movement in Russia of the late twentieth century was created,
the Radical News Internet agency was founded. Looking for news on the activities of
various radical and opposition movements, the guardians translated them into Russian and
posted them on a website, the news feed of which was updated regularly. Began to go and
the paper version of "Radical news."

In an alliance with the local Kasimov greens, the guardians attempted to participate in
the elections to the local authorities and, again, as expected, went home, collected
signatures for their candidates, and campaigned. Unfortunately, no one passed from the
custodians to Kasimov representative bodies of local self-government.

Around 2002, the project was completed. This was due to both internal movement problems
and external causes. It can be said quite unequivocally that if the project continued to
exist actively in 2003-2005, the state would do everything possible to destroy it. As is
known, the NBP's "bunker" was repeatedly closed, moved, and eventually was eliminated. The
same thing would have happened with the guardians headquarters - given the increasing role
of the state and special services in Russian society, starting from the 2000s, the project
would simply not be allowed to exist.

Some guardians naively stated that "if we do not have a structure, then we cannot be
liquidated". This was, of course, an illusory view, because representatives of the special
services do not work with the structure, but with specific people. Among the keepers, one
could clearly see the unofficial backbone of the activists on whom everything was held. To
destroy everything is enough to put pressure on the activists.

The bulk of the custodians - it was frankly rave crowd without any obligations and
understanding of the situation. Therefore, the keepers - that is, movement with contacts
in many cities of Russia, gradually ceased to exist. Some time after 2002, the Moscow
group of guardians supported the existence, but it also eventually disappeared.

In a global context favorable to the soldiers, Netanyahu has more than ever the free hand
to carry out his extremist policy. Donald Trump is his most faithful supporter with a "
Century Accord  " project that will deny the legitimacy of all Palestinian demands with
the blessing of Saudi Arabia. ---- You would be Netanyahu, would you change ? No, of
course, since, although Israel does, this rogue state is never punished. His methods of
utter disregard for so-called "  international law  " or "  human rights  " have been
rubbing off. Trump, Mohammed ben Salman, Bolsonaro, Al-Sissi, Orban, Duterte, Modi ...
Netanyahu is far from isolated. ---- It was Trump who, from the beginning of his term,
moved the lines. US Vice President Mike Pence is a "  Zionist Christian  ". These
fundamentalist and anti-Semitic evangelists played a major role in financing colonization.
Their program is of a "  biblical  " simplicity: to bring back all the Jews to the Holy
Land, to drive out the "  evil  ", Armaggeddon (ie the Arabs), to hasten the return of
Christ. Then these Jews will have to convert to the true faith on pain of disappearance.

By setting up the US embassy in Jerusalem, Trump hoped his initiative would spread. It did
not work. Even Bolsonaro realized at the last moment that he risked jeopardizing Brazilian
exports.

Trump, in the wake, acknowledged the annexation of the Golan. This Syrian territory was
conquered in 1967 while Labor was in power, then annexed by a near unanimous vote. Trump
now plans to propose the "  deal of the century  ": the annexation of all settlements, the
disappearance of refugee status, a tip to accept capitulation and a flood of fire in case
of refusal.

The pro-imperialist camp of the Arab world, represented by Saudi Arabia, the other
monarchies of the Gulf, Egypt and Morocco, has no more modesty to display its complicity
with Israel. MBS, the Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia is no longer
content to cut his opponents saw or conduct a genocidal policy in Yemen. He is openly
calling on Palestinians to surrender and seeks to drag all Sunnis into his crusade against
Iran. Another Sudanese soldier in the Arab world, Egyptian dictator Al-Sissi is
effectively participating in the blockade of Gaza.

The fascination of Israel
There are the allies but also the accomplices. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres
buried the report by Richard Falk and Virginia Tilley, which concluded that Israel is an
apartheid state. French diplomacy has issued a single statement in the recent period
accusing Hamas of sending rockets at the people of Israel ! The European Union is silent
when the Israeli government announces that it will resell equipment paid for by Europe,
given to Palestinians and confiscated by Israel. In Germany the Bundestag overwhelmingly
voted a text criminalizing the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions campaign as anti-Semitism.

"  In Israel pushes racism close to Nazism in its infancy  " [1]writes the Israeli
historian Zeev Sternhell, who has not yet broken with Zionism.

Do not be surprised by a very old proximity. Since 1977, with short interruptions, it is
the "  revisionist  " current of Zionism, founded a century ago by Jabotinsky, who is in
power. Jabotinsky was a supporter of the pogromist Petlioura during the Russian Revolution
and then an admirer of Mussolini. His successors, like Yitzhak Shamir, made offers of
collaboration with the Nazis, as part of the fight against the British in Palestine, at
the time of the extermination of Jews in Europe [2].

Today, US anti-Semitic preachers Robert Jeffress and John Hagee are invited to Jerusalem
to inaugurate the new embassy. The ban and backbench of the European far right, including
the vice-chancellor of Austria until last May, Heinz-Christian Strache, from the neo-Nazi
movement, multiply visits to Israel. Bolsonaro comes to the country to explain that the
Nazis were left and the holocaust must be forgiven. Netanyahu strongly supports Orban who
rehabilitates in Hungary the regime of Admiral Horthy who contributed to the extermination
of the Hungarian Jews.

On the domestic front, in Israeli Jewish society, allegiance has become obligatory.
Supporters of the boycott are criminalized, human rights associations are told to unveil
their funding. Against Palestinians and Palestinians, there is no longer any restraint.
Authors - soldiers or settlers - of murders of civilians are not prosecuted. Israel has
become the global laboratory for the confinement and surveillance of populations deemed
dangerous. This country, whose economy is that of a technological start-up, has become the
world leader in these advanced technologies and the most advanced weapons, with the
argument that they have been tested against Palestine. Repressive devices around the world
use its equipment and draw on its effectiveness.

The Israeli elections of April 2019 showed that the moral barriers collapsed. The
electorate clearly approves of occupation, apartheid and supremacism. Netanyahu's main
opponent, General Ganz, who perpetrated war crimes in Gaza in 2014, promised to bring the
territory back to the Stone Age. As for the "  Zionist Left  ", compromised in all crimes
against Palestinians, it no longer exists.

Palestine folds but does not break
Fascists are divided. Between religious who want DNA tests to verify the Jewishness of
immigrants, and Lieberman who wants to impose military service to these religious, there
is no agreement and we will review next fall.

Israeli propaganda tries to silence any criticism by exploiting anti-Semitism and Nazi
genocide. This propaganda works less and less in the United States, where the criticism of
Israel is developing very strongly, including in the Jewish community.

The times the Palestinians live are terrible. Trump tries to asphyxiate UNRWA [3].
Malnutrition adds to the shortages of water and electricity. The wealthy Arab countries do
nothing to relieve the misery that takes place. The two rival Palestinian governments are
quite shameful, repressing any opposition and favoring partisan party interests over any
other considerations.

Yet Palestinians continue to make society and believe in the future by massively educating
their children. They refuse to be assisted and try hard to produce.

International support and the BDS failed to prevent the glitters shit of the Eurovision
Song Contest in Tel Aviv. But the BDS will still have resulted in this attempt to
whitewash apartheid fail. The number of visitors was much lower than usual and many
artists around the world joined the cultural boycott.

A few days before, Netanyahu had bombed Gaza. The famous "  iron dome  " offered to Israel
by the US protector proved less effective than expected and Palestinian rockets inflicted
significant losses on the occupier.

It is up to us that Palestinian Palestinians are holding out as the balance of power
evolves. Nonviolent resistance, armed resistance, resistance is more than a right, it is a
duty.

Pierre Stambul (friend of AL)

Apartheid without limits

Between the Mediterranean and Jordan, there are about 50% Israeli Jews and Jews and 50  %
Palestinian women and men. The first have everything: land, water, political power,
wealth, military power. The others have nothing. We walked for a quarter of a century with
"  the Oslo Accords  ", "  the two states living side by side  ", "  the Palestinian
Authority  ", the "  peace process  " with all its avatars, the "  sheet of road  ", the"
quartet  "... All this verbiage could not hide a pitiless colonial steamroller.

The occupier has fragmented Palestine into as many sub-statuses of domination: nearly 2.5
million Palestinians in the West Bank are encircled by settlers. The West Bank is divided
into three zones (A, B and C) and Netanyahu has campaigned on the outright annexation of
Area C which covers more than 60% of the territory (the settlement blocks, the Jordan
Valley). Palestinians living there are subject to military jurisdiction with all that it
means: confiscated land, ongoing aggression, destruction of infrastructure and villages,
evictions.

In East Jerusalem, the Judaization of the city is accelerating. The goal is to deprive
Palestinians of their resident status. Palestinian neighborhoods are invaded, houses are
confiscated or destroyed.

In the Gaza cage, the return marches have multiplied for a year. The population reminds
the world that the original crime of this war is the premeditated ethnic cleansing of
1948. In the light and knowledge of the "  international community  ", the Israeli army
fired on demonstrators unarmed as at funfair. Nearly 300 dead, thousands of cripples.
Explosive bullets, banned against elephants, are used against Gaza.

The comedy of "  the Jewish and democratic state  ", of pre-1967 Israel, ended in 2018
with the Knesset's passing of the law "  Israel, Nation-State of the Jewish People  ".
This vote formalizes a situation that has existed since 1948. Palestinian and Palestinian
Israel, miraculously miraculously expelled, are today officially foreigners in their own
country. Even the Druze, which Israel tried to make "  collabos  ", is thus marginalized.
In the northern Negev desert, the destruction of Bedouin villages is accelerating,
although Palestinian Bedouins have Israeli citizenship and deeds of property. The " Jewish
National Fund  " plans to install " new Jewish cities  "on their lands. We are now clearly
in the situation of an anti-apartheid struggle in a space that goes from the sea to the river.

Francophone Anarchist Federation Statement ---- We are concerned about our Greek comrades.
---- We are concerned that new Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has decided to
inaugurate his mandate by striking a blow to the "anarchists" and the "hooded". ---- We
are concerned about all these police officers present in the vicinity of Exarchia's rebel
and supportive neighborhood. ---- We are concerned about all these war preparations. ----
We are concerned about all these hateful statements by police ready to attack Exarchia to
confront the "fucking anarchists and motherfuckers." ---- We are concerned about the
rebuilding of the Delta team, very violent outside policemen, most of them from the most
dangerous far right.
We are concerned about the presence of neo-Nazi black shirts eager to assault, to take
revenge for the fall of the Golden Dawn party and simply to break the leftist, the
migrant, the anarchist, among the many policemen who will come to attack, beat, capture in
the neighborhood maze. and its shadowy areas.

We know our Greek comrades determined to defend themselves to the end, as well as the
migrants who live and organize by their side.

We don't forget Alexandros Grigoropoulos, an anarchist high school student who was shot
dead by a policeman on a neighborhood street in December 2008 when he was only 15 and a
half years old.

We don't forget Shehzad Luqman, a Pakistani worker who was tortured and killed by two
neo-Nazis in January 2013.

We don't forget Pavlos Fyssas, an antifascist rapper who died stabbed to death by a Golden
Dawn activist in September 2013.

We are therefore concerned about our anarchist, self-managed and anti-fascist Greek
comrades. We are also concerned about migrants welcomed into Exarchia.

We call for greater vigilance and greater active solidarity.

The 1920s' is a rich vein of material for books and movies. It was a period of extremes of
wealth and with cultural clashes between the old and new in music, dance, and art, etc.
Mostly we have been shown these things in the context of the USA. Think of The Great
Gatsby or a ton of film noir and gangster movies from The Roaring Twenties (1939) onwards.
Lately, other countries have taken an interest in the time period, with the TV series
Babylon Berlin, the most expensive production in German history and Peaky Blinders in
England, being salient examples. On the back of all this comes GunCity/La sombra de la
ley, (2018) a movie set in Barcelona in 1921. ---- Gun City opens with the robbery of a
military train by anarchists. Anibal (Luis Tosar) an out of town policeman joins local
counterparts in their attempt to find the culprits. In classic noir style, we are soon
immersed in a messy and gritty world where nobody is quite what they seem and there are
multiple layers of duplicity and inter-connection between the characters.

The main players include The Baron (Manolo Solo), a sleazy cabaret owner with a network of
contacts that run from high society to the lowest. We meet Lola (Adriana Torrebejano), his
main attraction at the club who wants out. There's also the Information Squad, a group of
corrupt, thuggish cops who have a deal with The Baron. The other corner is taken by
Salvador (Paco Tous), an elder statesman (or should that be stateless man?) of the
anarchist movement, his daughter Sara ( Michelle Jenner) and a young militant (Jaime
Lorente). The city is experiencing a wave of strikes. Salvador is a revolutionary but
favours a more gradualist approach of such actions to achieve the end result. The younger
hothead has no patience for this and advocates immediate armed action by affinity groups.
The daughter is caught between these paths.

Into this steps Anibal, the enigmatic outsider. He holds at least partly to Chandler's
description of the Ur noir protagonist "...down these mean streets a man must go who is
not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid". Anibal has to work with the other
cops but sees that their methods are ineffective, he plays the Baron for his own purposes
and intervenes in surprising ways in the struggle the anarchists are having. His
motivations and identity are left murky for most of the film and this aspect is fairly
satisfying dramatically. Which is important, as he is probably the character we are most
expected to identify with. Fortunately, the acting is solid and it's not an easy character
to assay. Too much and you come across as inappropriately rosy, too little and you seem
wooden and unsympathetic. Though it's still possible to find fault with the purpose of
this character. That is by making Anibal ‘us' and centring our attention on his role, it
values individualism and unjustified authority to address problems rather than collective
action and social accountability.

A minor weakness comes in some fairly unconvincing CGI in the aerial establishing shots of
the city. We see the Sagrada Familia being built (so nothing old there of course) and the
Ramblas as locational signifiers, for example. The other slight fault comes in the
unjustifiably neat wrapping up of the plot points at the end in a way that is designed to
satisfy ‘us' rather than being based on likely reality given the cynical world we've been
placed in. The story is also hardly original in its style or twists. However, if you are a
fan of the genre you will probably not care about the lack of originality in the plot and
there are plenty of tasty visuals and camera work you'll like. Likewise, if you want a
change from Chicago or New York there's something fresh for you in Barcelona.

Summing up, this movie should interest anyone interested in crime flicks, the 1920s' as a
period and film noir as a style. It doesn't entirely satisfy politically, but hey...it's a
crazy mixed-up world out there kid, Whataya want?!

On Sunday July 14, 2019 , another Sunday (from the 8th) with the shops open all over
Greece (in the middle of the May-October period with the shops being open every Sunday in
the whole municipality of Athens and other "tourist" "Areas), we proceeded to another
labor-strike mobilization in the center of Athens in the fight against the abolition of
Sunday's holiday. ---- For that day, a strike was launched by the Association of
Bookkeepers - Paper - Digital Media of Attica in the book sector and public stores in the
Prefecture of Attica .[cf. related updates: 1 , 2 , 3] ---- While, as a coordinating
action against the abolition of the Sunday holiday and the "liberated" hours, we had a
public call for a labor gathering at 10 am at the beginning of Ermou (Syntagma) and for
supporting the SYBXSA strike.

From very early on, at 9.30am there was a strike of protest in the Public Constitution
with the participation of the newly established Workers' Union in the Public.

Then, at 10 am, we moved collectively to our labor gathering , at the beginning of Ermou,
making clear to the various police forces that had camped early in that, that they would
have to leave, as they did immediately and ended up monitoring the gathering distance. We
shared banners and distributed in hundreds of copies the announcement of the trade union
workers' meeting - "Welcome to the zone of labor extermination!" , Which was read by a
microphone.

At the same time, there was also a mass excursion in the shops for discussion with
colleagues and sharing of messages.

Our entire mobilization in Ermou and Public Constitution was completed at 2pm.

Finally, in earlier days they made excursions into commercial areas of the workers meeting
in the trade sector - standing and in bookstores and Public stores from SYVCHPSA and
posters in the city center and other neighborhoods of the Coordinating Action .

NO 52, NO 32, NO 8! WE DO NOT CHARGE A SUN!

WE LOOK AT OUR EMPLOYMENT INTERESTS AND NEEDS FRONT!

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUCCESSFULLY WAS FOUNDED, WITH GAMES WE WILL REMOVE IT.
