Adaura C.’s life has never been easy. She escaped after being trafficked to Libya, where she was repeatedly raped and exploited. She then suffered severe abuse at the hands of ISIS.
Now, back in Nigeria, she is anxious about her uncertain future.
Human trafficking is a large and increasing problem in Nigeria. But few talk about what happens to trafficking survivors once they are repatriated back home, where the government’s efforts to protect and assist women like Adaura too often fail to respect their rights.
