The previous season of the Brussels Chopin Days might perhaps be called the most successful in its history.
Let it be one of the many reasons to look forward to another musical year in which the essence of the series remains: hear the cream of the crop of the young generation of talented pianists, in programs entirely devoted to Frédéric Chopin.
It is on Friday 13 September that the Ukrainian star-pianist Anna Fedorova will open the new season.
Some of her YouTube videos have been viewed several million times, and that is no surprise: the young pianist is rapidly conquering the musical world with her phenomenal interpretations.
Despite her young age of 29, she has already built the career of a world star, and has played in just about every major concert hall in the world: Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Théâtre des Champs Elysees in Paris, Warsaw Philharmonia, the Tonhalle in Zurich,...
Every time she stunned her audience due to her strong personality, her extreme energy and undeniable sense for poetry.
Or as Grammophone Magazine described it: "Fedorova's strongly independent hands create a three-dimensional, textural perspective."
The fact that Fedorova feels totaly at ease in Frédéric Chopin's world has been prooven at a very young age already by winning the Moscow International F. Chopin Competition, and a few years later she achieved great success at the International F. Chopin Competition in Warsaw.
It may not be a surprise that she is coming to Brussels with a varied and highly impressive program.
The season can't be started much more festively: it is with the Grande Valse Brillante, Op. 18 that Anna Fedorova will open her recital.
She proceeds with the two Nocturnes Op. 27, followed by the not so often played Fantaisie, Op. 49.
She concludes the first part with the 3 Waltzes, Op. 34.
The second part can be described as the heart of her recital, in which she offers us a tremendous program: nothing less than Chopin's Complete Ballades.
Without doubt a concert not to miss.

La dernière saison des « Brussels Chopin Days » a probablement été la plus remarquable de son histoire.
C'est une des nombreuses raisons de se réjouir et d'ajouter donc une autre saison dans laquelle l'esprit des séries précédentes demeure bien entendu central, c-à-d. : entendre la crème de la crème de la jeune génération de pianistes de talent, -et ils sont nombreux- avec des programmes entièrement dédiés à Frédéric Chopin.
C'est le 13 septembre prochain que la pianiste vedette ukrainienne, Anna Fedorova, inaugurera la nouvelle saison.
Ses vidéos YouTube ont été visionnées plusieurs millions de fois et ce n'est pas surprenant. En effet, grâce à ses interprétations puissantes et profondes, cette jeune pianiste a conquis rapidement le monde musical.
Malgré son jeune âge (29 ans), elle s'est déjà forgée une carrière de star mondiale et a joué dans presque toutes les grandes salles du monde : Carnegie Hall, le Concertgebouw d'Amsterdam, le Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, le Théâtre des Champs Elysées à Paris, le Warsaw Philharmonic, le Tonhalle de Zurich...
A chaque fois, elle émerveillait le public par sa forte personnalité, sa grande énergie et son indiscutable sens de la poésie. Le Grammophone Magazine l'exprime très bien : "Fedorova's strongly independant hands create a three-dimensional, textural perspective"...
Elle a démontré, très jeune, qu'elle est tout à fait en phase avec l'œuvre de Frédéric Chopin en remportant, notamment, le Concours International F. Chopin de Moscou. Anna Fedorova a également été très appréciée au Concours International F. Chopin à Varsovie.
Elle sera à Bruxelles et présentera un programme vaste et varié.
La saison ne pourra pas être inaugurée de manière plus festive : Anna Federova débutera son récital avec la Grande Valse Brillante, Op.18.
Viendront ensuite les deux Nocturnes, Op.27, puis la Fantaisie, Op.49, rarement jouée.
La première partie se terminera par l'interprétation des 3 Valses, Op.34.
La deuxième partie, quant à elle, peut être littéralement considérée comme le cœur de son récital, le programme est imposant : rien de moins que l'Intégrale des Ballades de Chopin !

Het afgelopen seizoen van de Brussels Chopin Days was misschien wel het meest succesvolle in haar geschiedenis.
Eén van de vele redenen dus om er nog een seizoen tegenaan te gooien waarbij de kern van de serie centraal blijft staan: het neusje van de zalm wat betreft de jonge generatie talentvolle pianisten aan werken horen, in programma's geheel gewijd aan Frédéric Chopin.
Het is op vrijdag 13 september dat de Oekraïense sterpianiste Anna Fedorovahet nieuwe seizoen zal inluiden.
Sommige van haar YouTube-videos zijn ettelijke miljoenen keren bekeken, en dat is niet verwonderlijk: de jonge pianiste verovert in ijltempo de muzikale wereld met haar ijzersterke interpretaties.
Ze heeft ondanks haar jonge leeftijd van 29 jaar al de carrière uitgebouwd van een wereldster, en speelde in zowat alle grote concertzalen ter wereld: Carnegie Hall, het Concertgebouw van Amsterdam, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Théâtre des Champs Elysees in Parijs, Warsaw Philharmonia, de Tonhalle in Zurich,...
Telkens verblufte ze het publiek met haar sterke persoonlijkheid, haar grote energie en onbetwistbare gevoel voor poëzie. Of zoals Grammophone Magazine het omschreef:
"Fedorova's strongly independant hands create a three-dimensional, textural perspective."Dat ze zich helemaal in haar sas voelt in het oeuvre van Frédéric Chopin bewees ze al op jonge leeftijd door de Moscow International F. Chopin Competition te winnen, en ook op de Internationale F. Chopin Wedstrijd te Warschau gooide ze hoge ogen.
Naar Brussel komt ze dan ook met een groots en gevarieerd programma.
Veel feestelijker kan het seizoen niet worden ingeluid: het is met de Grande Valse Brillante, Op. 18 dat Anna Fedorova van start zal gaan.
Daarna volgen de twee Nocturnes, Op. 27, gevolgd door de niet zo vaak gespeelde Fantaisie, Op. 49. Het eerste deel sluit ze af met de 3 Walsen, Op. 34.
Het tweede deel kan omschreven worden als de kern van haar recital, waarin ze ons een dijk van een programma voorstelt: niets minder dan Chopin's Integrale Ballades.
