[DEADLINE] Daniel still needs your help

Dear friends from all over  the world –
With your help, young activists like Daniel will be coming together to learn crucial skills on how to advance their fight for equality.
Daniel is an LGBT+ activist living and working in Ethiopia. We're trying to get him and over 20 others living in Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda to Nairobi for a weeklong intensive training.
Throughout the week, they'll work with seasoned activists to learn crucial skills around digital advocacy, fundraising, and safety. When the week is over, they'll be ready to take their own campaigns to the next level back home. They'll also be set up to train other LGBT+ people in their community on how to run campaigns for equality.
But they need your help. Daniel and many other participants don't have the resources to get to Nairobi.
So far, 710 All Out members have chipped in. We need 40 more donations to fully fund this opportunity for all participants by midnight tonight. Please, donate today!
Thanks for going All Out,
Matt Beard

 – Dear friends from all over  the world –v
My name is Daniel* and I'm an LGBT+ rights activist writing to you from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Being gay here is viewed as a "Western disease." A prominent Ethiopian religious figure once said LGBT+ people "have to be dumb, stupid like animals", and "have to be given a lesson."
As an openly gay man living in a very religious country where it's illegal to be gay, I often feel alone and very isolated. There's hardly any visible LGBT+ community here.
But in a few months, I'll have the chance of a lifetime to meet with other young LGBT+ activists from places like Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. Never in my life have I been able to meet and talk openly with other LGBT+ people.
But I need your help to get there. I don't have any resources to get to Nairobi, where the training will take place. So together with All Out, I'm asking for your help to fund my trip.
Help empower the next generation of LGBT+ activists. DONATE
Your donation today will help pay for my airfare, hotel, and food during the training.
With support from All Out, I'll be able to meet and share my story with other LGBT+ activists from Eastern African countries. We'll be trained by seasoned activists around things like digital advocacy, fundraising, and safety. Then they'll help us prepare for campaigns we will run when we return home.
This training will equip me with the tools I need to come back to Ethiopia and start to engage and mobilize our hidden LGBT+ community. And I'll come back home knowing that I'm not alone – that there's a network of queer African activists who have my back.
It's an amazing opportunity that I can't wait to be a part of. But I need your help to get there.
In solidarity,
Daniel
