So there's all this talk of taking to the streets, civil disobedience, riots etc over
Johnston's plan to dissolve Parliament to get his no deal Brexit pushed through... shut
the fuck up, you all know that this isn't going to happen, the people have had more than
plenty chances to show their anger at the shit that's been going on, Bankers stealing our
money, Politicians expenses scandal, Politicians continually lying to us, DWP's Universal
Credit, Government cover up on pedophiles, the list goes on, but what's the most that's
happened? Absolutely fuck all, a few grumbles on Social media about how angry people are
but nothing gets done, most are just happy to go on a Socialist Workers demo, march from A
to B, be good little fellows and follow what the cops tell them to do and end up listening
to a speech by Owen Jones or some other fuck-witted lefty liberal who will tell you to get
angry and write to your MP, then y'all go back to suburbia and write up "what a great day
you had" on social media and think that you are doing something, wake the fuck up, they
are controlling you at every step, do you think they give a fuck about your trendy middle
class organised marches? It means nothing to these cunts, and makes no difference whatsoever.
If your going to take to the streets then fucking do it, no holds barred, go outwith the
organised routes, disobey the cops, make your
own rules.

Remember if the Poll Tax march was organised by these middle class lefty liberals we would
still be paying the fucking Poll Tax.

[ALERT!] What we've been announcing for a month and a half just started this morning
[Monday, 8/26], just before dawn: EXARCHIA UNDER POLICE OCCUPATION ---- Athens' famous
rebel and sympathetic neighborhood is completely surrounded by huge police forces: many
anti-riot buses (MAT), anti-terrorist police jeeps (OPKE), motorized anti-crime police
(DIAS), members of the secret police (Asfalitas), as well as a helicopter and several
drones. ---- A unique place in Europe for its high concentration of Okupas and other
self-managed spaces, but also for its resistance against repression and solidarity with
the precarious and migrant, Exarchia has been on the right wing since its election on July
7. New Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has made it a personal matter, especially since
he was ridiculed in early August for failing to achieve his goal of "cleaning up Exarchia
in a month," as he had announced with great pomp.

This morning, 4 okupas were evacuated: Spirou Trikoupi 17, Transit, Foc Rose and Gare. The
offensive currently concerns the northwestern part of the neighborhood, with the notable
exception of the Notara 26 squat, supposedly better protected and symbolically important
to the neighborhood as the first historic okupa of the "refugee crisis" in Athens city center.

There are currently around a hundred arrests, as well as brutal attacks on people trying
to film. Only the media serving power can cover the event.

In total there are 23 Okupas in Exarchia plus 26 others in the vicinity, making a total of
49 concentrated in a fairly small area to which other types of self-managed places should
be added, some of which are rented (Nosotros Free Social Space, Skoros free store, etc.),
as well as dozens of private villas that bring together groups of activists, usually near
terraces to allow access to the streets.

Of the Okupas located precisely within Exarchia, 12 are refuges for asylum seekers and
migrants, and the other 11 are for anarchist and anti-authoritarian political collectives
(although most migrant okupas are also obviously very political, starting with Notara 26
and Spirou Trikoupi 17 with open assemblies and many links with the rest of the social
movement).

In Spirou 17 and Transito (which the ruthless of power are now attacking), more than 15
children were torn from a peaceful and happy existence to be suddenly sent to the camps.
These sinister camps are unhealthy and overcrowded, migrants are malnourished and suffer
from temperature fluctuations, humiliation and sometimes torture, and Mitsotakis also
demands that everyone be closed and at the same time in the future completely isolated
from the rest of the territory.

The face of Europe is hardening, as it is succeeding in other continents. This
increasingly authoritarian evolution of capitalism leads us to question what heralds the
present era: the offensive against the utopian scholarship coupled with the scapegoating
imprisonment is reminiscent of the dark hours of history.

The whole world is becoming fascist and Greece is once again one of the labs. But
nothing is over.

September is coming. Seasonal works are over. The social movement is gathering and
organizing again. Places like Notara 26 and K * Vox are under high surveillance. Reactions
are preparing, as are several important mobilization events. Autumn will be warm in Athens.

  Resistance!

  Notara26: WILL NOT PASS!

  Yannis Youlountas

PS: We rely on your press releases, photos, actions in places that represent the Greek
state abroad... Solidarity is our weapon.

The operation of the hydroelectric dam in Mesochora village (Greece) and the hydroelectric
factory will be responsible for the destruction of Acheloos river, while the diversion of
the river will cause major disasters for both natures and the human communities around
there, as large areas will sink into mud, biotopes will disappear and homes will be
evacuated from PPC so the dam and the factory can be put into operation. ---- Following
the policy of previous governments, the "left" government of SYRIZA continues to promote
the interests of private companies, giving the green light to the operation of the dam.
There is a plan on privatization of the social resources (as the water) and their
exploitation by large companies, and the dam of Acheloos is a part of it, as the state
continuing wastes huge amounts of social wealth for the construction and the maintenance
of dams and factories that have devastating effects on the environment and society and
which will be given to individuals for their own profit.

The case of the diversion of Acheloos is very important for the state, which provides
ongoing founding for that and has announced the immediate operation of the dam. We should
not forget that the political party of SYRIZA (that now is the government) was the one
that for years claimed it was opposed to the construction of hydroelectric dams. It's
members participated in mobilizations against the dam and the diversion, aiming at the
absorption and finally the ending of social struggles, while at the same time they used
their emblem through those struggles to rise to power. It's the same party that now, as
government, promotes "green energy" projects and the operation of dams and mines
devastating for nature and profitable for capitalists.

We, as the Autonomous Struggle Meeting, support the social struggles and the rise of the
local communities that fight for the protection of both the natural world and their homes
and regions. We fight for the sharpening, the radicalization and the broading of the
social struggle from below, and we stand in solidarity with all struggling collectively
against the pillage of nature.

In the trade, there is a Syndicate of the French bookstore (SLF), which represents very
well the interests of the booksellers ... patrons. But here is the creation of a Syndicat
des Libraires d'Ile-de-France (SLI), affiliated to the CGT, which addresses employees.
Perrine Ablain, bookseller at the Urban Genre (Paris 20 th ), is one of its founders. ----
How was the SLI born ? --- Everything started from a specific case: a Parisian bookseller,
faced with harassment, asked for help from the SLF, without any success. She looked
elsewhere ... And it was the CGT-Commerce that answered the call and then accompanied the
creation of the SLI. Independent bookstores are often small structures (generally less
than 11 employees), which complicates the relationship between management and employees,
but also the links between us ! But we quickly realize, in discussion between colleagues,
that we encounter the same problems: low wages, poorly respected legislation (the payment
of overtime is not always ensured for example), sometimes harassment.

What is the strategy in sight ?

First, make yourself known ! And inform about the collective agreement, about our rights,
which are very often poorly known to employees (and even bosses !). We must
decompartmentalize libraries, create links between us. To begin, we will be confined to
the Île-de-France. Our second objective is to denounce our salaries, which are very low in
relation to level of study and workload. This is a recurrent problem in the world of
culture: we are supposed to be passionate ... and therefore give a lot in return for
little. We also want to fight very strongly against the unhealthy situations of
face-to-face confrontation between an authoritarian leader who feels almighty and a small
team frightened by the idea of "  grilling If she defends herself. These situations are
unfortunately very common. Finally, the SLI defends another vision of the profession,
undermined by editorial overproduction. To be a librarian is to take the time to read, to
get the treasures of the catalogs ... not just to put the latest news on shelves.

So how do we do all this ?

To gather booksellers, we created a Facebook page and an email list. The SLI also intends
to hold regular public meetings - we made several memberships from the first, at the end
of March. And at the moment, we are working a lot on the negotiations of branch agreements
; it is a very big issue for all employees, who play in joint committees. But for the
moment, the CGT has only 4 seats, and the other unions present (CFTC, CFDT, UNSA, FO,
CFE-CGC) do not get represented by booksellers. It does not make negotiations easy ! In
the long term, we hope to weigh more in the professional elections, to launch a dynamic
really favorable to the employees of the bookstores.
