From Brussels with love
Hi there ! After a quiet summer and a first concert in the UK with my trio at the delightful Edinburgh Jazz Festival, I'll be as busy as a prime minister in the coming months...
To stay in a festive and summer mood, September will start with the opening of 2 jam sessions and a duo gig : the first one will take place on Saturday the 7th at my local bar "Chez mon ex" in the afternoon, from 4 PM. Every first Saturday of each month I host a "be-bop and beyond" session there. Good music, great beers, cheese, wine and local stuff : the perfect place to hang out before doing whatever you fancy doing on Saturday nights!
Sunday the 8th I'll play a duo gig with Laurent Barbier at the mythical Archiduc, 5PM.
On Tuesday the 12th, the first official "Jam d'Hortense" will take place from 9:30 PM at ViaVia in the center of Brussels. That session will happen every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and is set to be a highlight of both Brussels jazz life and nightlife ! Info : leslundisdhortense.be

All over Europe (or what's left of it...)
After those warm-up moments, my trio will be back in the game to present the album we released last April.
On September 20th, we'll be at the Jazz Station in Brussels for the opening of the very hip Saint-Jazz Festival ! Very much looking forward for that one, new originals to be premiered.
On September 21st, we'll be driving to Mouscron at the French border to play the same repertoire (or as we say in Thailand "Same, same, but different") !

In October, we'll cross the border and go deep south to play in Toulouse (Le Taquin, October 9th) and Marseille (Le Jam, October 11th).
Next, I'll be in Denmark to play another round of the successful play Baby McBeth... in the country of Hamlet... are you still following me?(Compagnie Gare Centrale, October 25th, 26th and 27th).
On November 1st, Vers l'azur noir will be officially released in the UK. Yes, that's the day of the so-called Brexit, and this album is dedicated to the refugees that dickhead BoJo seems to have trouble with... Winter is coming...
If the world doesn't collapse before winter, you'll be able to see my trio on tour, more jam sessions, more BabyMcBeth, my all-star quintet back in the game and many projects involving music, people and beyond...
