Animal abuse isn't appetizing. Tell NY to ban foie gras!

Ducks are force-fed until they can't stand in order to produce foie gras. Tell New York to ban this cruel food! Sign Now Dear friends, Foie gras — a duck liver paté — is highly revered among foodies for its rich taste and texture. But the process to make foie gras is downright horrific. Ducks are kept in small cages where they are unable to move or escape. Then, farm workers force-feed the animals through a tube, forcing them to gorge themselves with up to 30 pounds of food per week — far more than any duck would naturally consume. Some of the ducks become so painfully swollen they can't even stand up. The practice is so horrifying that several U.S. states have already prohibited the sale of foie gras. But New York, one of the country's most popular culinary destinations, has yet to ban this cruel item from restaurant menus. In fact, the state is even home to Hudson Valley Foie Gras, the nation's largest foie gras farm. The company claims they use best practices and are "concerned" for the animals' welfare but, by its very definition, the production of foie gras is grotesquely inhumane. These animals are tormented, forced to suffer, and all just to be murdered and eaten. Sign the petition and tell New York to ban foie gras! Thank you for all that you do,   Miranda B. This is not right. Tell the state of New York that cruelty isn't a "delicacy." It must ban this torturous practice, now!
