Sign Now Dear friends, It has recently come to light that Amazon employs thousands of people around the world to not only listen to and transcribe recordings made by Alexa but to also watch video made by the Amazon Cloud Cam home security system. If that makes you uncomfortable, then sign to demand legislation against this abuse of privacy. Amazon has been extremely secretive about this, no doubt realizing that many of the millions of Alexa users would be alarmed to know their private moments are being eavesdropped on. What would happen if oppressive governments were to require Amazon to provide them with access to their Alexa recordings and transcripts? What if malicious hackers acquired this data and used it to harass, intimidate or blackmail Alexa users? There is too much at risk with the emerging widespread use of Alexa and other similar voice AI assistants and home security systems.
