While the nuclear power industry in France is going through a serious crisis between the
disaster of the EPR construction site in Flamanville and dead ends in waste management
aggravated by the abandonment of the Astrid project, the government continues the leak
with its project EDF cut-off sales and preparations for the launch of six additional EPRs.
---- The EPR reactor[1]says "3 th generation" was originally to be connected to the grid
in 2012, and cost about 3.5 billion euros. In practice, it will probably not start until
2023 and the bill has continued to rise to 12.4 billion euros. ---- After the
manufacturing anomalies on the reactor vessel pointed in 2015 by the Nuclear Safety
Authority (ASN), the forging anomalies of the tank cover detected in June 2017, defective
welds on the tank forcing EDF to resume 53 In June 2019, ASN asked EDF to take back eight
more welds located in inaccessible places.

This last episode fell at an extremely problematic time for the future of the nuclear
industry. "Wisdom recommends waiting until the Flamanville EPR is completed before making
decisions," said the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire[2]. A decision on the launch of
new EPRs can not be made before the presidential elections of 2022, which will weigh
heavily on the capacity of the sector to maintain a high level of skills, skills already
largely undergone as shown by the multiplication of anomalies in Flamanville .

The issue of waste
Another unresolved issue is that of waste, especially high and medium-level waste, whose
life span is often in the hundreds of thousands of years. The forecast - in 2020 - of
volume of high and medium level waste[3]to "long life" is 58 500 cubic meters ...

A law - known as the Bataille law - defining waste management methods was adopted on
December 30, 1991. It proposed three axes: the transmutation of long-lived waste, the
storage in deep geological formations in "underground laboratories", the conditioning
long-term waste on the surface.

Transmutation, a sort of Grail of nuclear engineers, was embodied by the Astrid
Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor project[4]. But by the end of August, the Atomic Energy
Commission (CEA) announced that it would stop researching the Astrid prototype by the end
of 2019 because of its high cost and lack of political support[5], signaling the end of
nuclear waste recycling projects.

The deep storage finds its application in the construction of the laboratory called Cigeo
in Bure (Meuse). The latter aroused strong opposition from local populations. As of 2015,
opponents have carried out occupation operations, particularly at Lejuc Woods[6]. This
fight is confronted with a strong police repression and a multiplication of judicial
procedures. But the opponents do not give up!

All turn signals are red ...
And yet! Announced on June 20, 2019 by its management[7], a complete transformation
project would cut EDF on the one hand into a "blue" subsidiary wholly owned by the State
and including nuclear activities, hydroelectric dams and the network of electricity
transmission (RTE) ; and on the other hand, a "green" subsidiary with private equity to
bring together electricity distribution, the commercial branch, renewable energies, the
services subsidiary, and Enedis (formerly ERDF).

As Le Monde wrote , "This major reform, wanted by Emmanuel Macron and now led by the
energy company's management, is presented as a solution allowing it to face the challenge
of nuclear financing. . The French fleet is aging and requires several tens of billions of
euros of investment, while EDF is weighed down by a debt of 33 billion euros" .

This project is designed to allow, on the one hand, 100% nationalization of nuclear power
to boost the development of the nuclear power sector and, on the other hand, the
privatization of the rest, thus enabling it to be financed.

Hello, here is the EPR !
On October 15, 2019, Le Monde raised a new hare: "In a letter sent to the president of
Électricité de France (EDF), September 12[Elisabeth Borne and Bruno Le Maire]give a
precise roadmap to Jean-Bernard Lévy for the construction of six EPR reactors during the
next fifteen years" in contradiction with the public statements of Macron.

The roadmap sent to the CEO of EDF only studies one scenario, the construction of new
EPRs, while logically, a change of energy trajectory based on the development of renewable
energies and energy savings. should be studied as an alternative.

But could a government at the service of the "rich" ignore the decisive weight of the
pro-nuclear lobby within the French bourgeoisie? This observation demonstrates the
strategic nature of the antinuclear struggle in France to move towards an ecological
society, a struggle which, in order to win, must be able to coordinate all local battles
nationally and to take central initiatives.

"Those who have illegally occupied buildings, public or private, are urged to evacuate
them. If they are asylum seekers or third-country nationals, they should be informed that
they will be transferred to inland accommodation structures. For the purpose of travel,
the relevant services of the Ministry of Citizen Protection will contact them. If the
buildings are private, to stay current occupants need to contact the owners and agree to
lease terms. The deadline for evacuation is 15 days after the publication of this press
release. This was the announcement of the Ministry of Citizen Protection published
yesterday 20 November 2019. ---- A statement that comes as a continuation of the
long-running repressive campaign, a deadline whose sole purpose is to blackmail the world
into political ventures and to criminalize solidarity, extinguish, and massively end the
occupations they are housed in. our comrades and companions, either refugees or
immigrants. That deadline didn't come by accident. It has multiple purposes and is
symbolic of them since it expires the day before the anniversary of the assassination of
Alexander Grigoropoulos. But it is also symbolic for us. In this ruthless war that no one
has declared will remain untouched, no one will remain untouched. Everyone is shocked, and
the recent incidents of brutal police violence have proved the worst. Their purpose was
and is to disperse fear, the constant thought that we will live with the boots of
MATZZIDIS on our backs no matter what we fight for. That is why we call on the whole world
of the struggle to unite and create the embankment they believe does not exist, to resist
the brutality and barbarism they want to impose. Students, base unions, colleges, refugees
and immigrant women, all over the world who defied fear and gave their own answer flooding
the streets at the last mass rally on the anniversary of the Technical University. to

There is much talk of repression in Chile against protesters, but words cannot express the
cruelty that is directed against those who have decided to go out to fight and face the
repressive terror of the Chilean state. The number of dead and mutilated is more eloquent.
According to the Red Cross, the number of murdered reached twenty and almost 5,000
injured. Among the latter, 217 have lost an eye due to the fire of repressive forces. ----
According to the Chilean Ophthalmology Society, so far the Unit has treated 192 patients
with severe eye trauma. Of these, 94 had a severe decrease in vision, 34 had a
'penetrating wound or an eye burst' and 29 totally lost sight of the affected eye. In
addition, they reported 55 more cases in other care centers.

In this regard, the doctor Dennis Cortés, president of said company, acknowledged before
the DD Commission. H H. of the Chilean Senate on November 4 that this is the highest
number of eye injuries with non-lethal weapons in demonstrations or areas of conflict in
the world. A greater number of cases than those recorded in France during the 'yellow
vests' crisis, protests in Hong Kong or in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

For courts, there is no parallel: doing a review of the last 27 years, internationally,
(...) including Israel, Palestine, Gaza, among many others, there were a total of 1,900
injured by pellets and about 300 of them had eye injuries "We - he points out - reached
half that number in two weeks."

"The number of severe traumas is impressive. I've been working in this hospital for 15
years and I have never seen anything like it," said ophthalmologist Rosa Valsec, after
taking out a pellet embedded in the tear to another young man with a diagnosis of "balloon
burst." ocular".

In the opinion of the specialist, the projectiles impact "with great force", possibly due
to the short distance at which they are fired, and generate a "brutal" destruction: "Many
patients will need four or five operations and intense rehabilitation because when loses
an eye you have to relearn distances and spatial orientation, "Valsec acknowledges.

At least 217 people have been injured in the eyes by pellets or rubber pellets fired by
Chilean police since October 18, as denounced by the National Institute of Human Rights of
Chile (INDH).

For many, the high number of fatalities and injuries, mainly those injured by the eyes, is
indicative of the intentionality of the repressive forces to cause as much damage as
possible to those who have dared to sustain the protest.

This was denounced by the rector of the state University of Chile, Ennio Vivaldi. "The
number of eye injuries is such that it makes one think that it is intentional. Those who
receive the pellets are not the ones who cause the fires or those who loot, they are the
ones who manifest peacefully," he said.

In this line, the Director of the NHRI, Yerko Ljubetic, also stated, "what we observe," he
says, "is that the use of riot guns and the launch of tear gas are directed directly at
people and crowds, without distinguishing between peaceful protesters and those who can
really incur criminal situations. "

The current transport system is based on the car and road-building culture. This is one of
the key causes of climate change and pollution, both air and noise. Meanwhile, the public
transport system is overcrowded and expensive in cities and non-existent in rural areas.
With housing increasing in price in the centre of urban areas, people are forced to move
further and further out and end up paying a large portion of their wages and time just to
get to work. And, there is continual pressure to undermine the working conditions and
safety concerns of transport workers. ---- Join us for a discussion of these issues and
help develop a campaign for free public transport for all, building a united movement of
workers and users. ---- Sunday 1st December, 2pm at May Day Rooms, 88 Fleet Street, London

Everyone has become aware of the revolutionary events taking place in Lebanon. This
movement has gone global, and the international media is reporting on it and lauding it
for its uniqueness and success. ---- The KAFEH movement is proud of its participation in
the events of this revolution, and of being at the center of the movements. Wheter in
calls and invites, sit-in, setting tents, confrontations, statements, or permanent
presence and full readiness,, KAFEH has been at the forefront. ---- These protests
represent KAFEH ideologically in every way: ---- First and foremost, this revolution is
without a leader or hierarchy to control it, and automatically rejects whoever tries to
lay claim on it and speak and take decisions on its behalf. This represents the philosophy
of the anarchist and non-authoritarian KAFEH movement; enforcing direct decision by the
people.

It has become clear as well that the rebels are standing in the opposition to the whole
system and all who represent it and defends its legitimacy. The rebels insist on not
stopping until all the symbols of the current regime have been torn down. This attitude is
one of the most essential pillars of anarchism.

Furthermore, the people are showing a clear rejection of sectarianism, racism and
bureaucracy as well as support for the idea of absolute freedom and abolition of all
chains that bind us. And these ways of thought represent Kafeh's anarchist ideology.

Therefore, KAFEH announces its continuous support to this revolution until the achievement
of full victory. We will not tire or stop until the entire regime has fallen. And we will
use all available methods to achieve the people's goals.

Finally, KAFEH salutes all the activists in the streets and squares, and puts itself
completely at the disposal of the people in all activities and urges to not back down or
surrender, but to proceed forward until victory is achieved.
