Indonesia is our last hope to save these rhinos from extinction.

Sumatran rhinos are extinct everywhere around the world — except for 80 left in Indonesia. That country must act fast to save the species.

Dear friends,
The Sumatran rhino has been extinct in the wild in Malaysia since 2015, but the species is hanging on by a thread thanks to the last ditch efforts of conservationists to breed the last animals in captivity. But the dreams of conservationists in Malaysia were dashed this year when the country's last two captive Sumatran rhinos died.
Rhinos have an extremely low birth rate, which makes it much harder for them them to survive humans gobbling up their habitat and poaching them for their horns. But with help from experts, we can save them. The Javan rhino, another endangered rhino species in Indonesia has rebounded after conservationists intervened. If we do the right thing, we could be celebrating the same success for the Sumatran rhino in a few years.
But with only 80 left, we don't have a minute to lose. As the home of the last rhinos, Indonesia must act. The rest of the world is relying on them.
Thank you,
