But did you know that one of Canada's most beloved brands — which is quickly gaining a foothold in other markets around the world — uses real fur for their trendy coats and jackets? Canada Goose, the legendary outdoor winter apparel company, is making its customers complicit in the slaughter of wild animals for fur. The fur they're using comes from coyotes — one of North America's great predators and symbol of the American West. These animals are trapped in the wild, killed and skinned, and then their fur is added as an accent to some of Canada Goose's most popular products. Canada Goose asks us to respect their "responsible use and ethical sourcing of fur." But how can we respect a brand that participates in the brutal animal fur industry? They say that in some areas "coyotes are considered a pest," but that's not an excuse. Coyotes are living beings. Simply put, animals' fur shouldn't be used to make a fashion statement.
