These Poor Bulls Panic as a Crowd Injures, Incapacitates, and Then Attacks Them. Ban This "Sport" Now!

Dear friends,
Though the four-day festival is meant to mark the beginning of the harvest season for crops like rice and sugarcane, part of the event is, instead, focused on tormenting and torturing animals. This is primarily done through the cruel "sport" of Jallikattu.
The goal of Jallikattu is to grab a frightened, agitated bull and jump on its back, hanging on while the distressed bull kicks and twists to get free. That alone would be wrong, but unfortunately, it gets worse. In order to make the challenge more difficult and "fun," humans subject the bulls to all manner of atrocities before the games even begin.
Then, after the bulls have been intoxicated, maimed, and blinded by hot spices, they are released into a horde of men, one at a time. Once in the crowd, they fear for their lives as multiple men grab them simultaneously, all seeking to climb on and dominate them. There is nowhere for them to escape.
This is clearly wrong — that's why the Supreme Court of India has imposed a ban on Jallikattu numerous times. But the prohibitions have never lasted long, with local governments finding loopholes and the courts repeatedly caving to pressure from proponents of the "sport."
To not uphold these bans is cowardice, and the Indian government must do better! Sign the petition today to demand that the Supreme Court of India officially ban Jallikattu once and for all!
Thank you for all that you do,

P.S. In pain, wounded, and confused, these bulls just want to seek safety — but instead, they're thrown into chaos as men attack them from all sides. Tell officials in India to ban this cruel "sport" now!
