This year marks the 4th annual Radical Bookfair in Derry which now forms part of the city's political calendar at the Pilots Row Community
Centre in the heart of the Bogside. ---- Organisers of the Derry Radical Bookfair will once again host the country's largest selection of
independent radical press, book sellers, publishers and distributors from across Ireland with a number of participants taking part from
Scotland, England and Wales. ---- A spokesperson for the Derry Radical Bookfair said "We have seen many participants return time and time
again to the Radical Bookfair after previous successful fairs held in the city. What we are proud of is having a large variety of political
opinions as expressed though the many different forms of radical literature on display. Literature not normally found in mainstream
bookshops and outlets. What we have is a healthy and expanding network of independent booksellers and publishers who have forged links and
new important contacts which the Derry Radical Bookfair is a vital focal point as part of the political calendar.
"The Radical Bookfair has many different political views and radical traditions which makes up the lift of the city. We pride ourselves in
creating a space for books of local, national and international interests including social and labour history as well as themes covering
radical feminism, queer liberation, anarchism, marxism, republicanism and environmentalism. It is also a day in which a number of campaign
groups have the opportunity to table stalls so as to highlight ongoing concerns such as human rights, environmental and social justice issues.
"This year we will be including a speakers corner which will host a number of talks and discussions from Anti-fascism to Anarchism
throughout the day which will again add to the overall community spirit that the book fair has created at Pilots Row. For many the event
ties in well with the week long events as part of the run up to the annual Bloody Sunday March for Justice."

STRUGGLE AGAINST NEW AGREEMENT ON STAY AND EXTENSION OF AMERICAN BASES NO CONSENT TO GREEK GOVERNMENT'S DESIGNS ---- On Thursday, January
30, a new military agreement between the Greek and US states to retain, strengthen and expand bases in Araxos, Alexandroupolis, Larissa,
Andravida, Stefanovikio and Souda is approved by parliament . An agreement that - among other things - allows the US to maintain military
infrastructure within the facilities of the Greek Armed Forces and to utilize the country's civilian military infrastructure, turning Greece
into an endless war base for their imperialist designs. This agreement was initiated by the "left" government of SYRIZA and is implemented
today by the far-right neoliberal government of ND.
About a month ago, the US military attacked Iraqi and Iraqi officials at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq, killing Iranian General
Kassem Suleimani, the leader of the Revolutionary Guards, and seven other Guards. Subsequently, there were attacks (and continue to this
day) by Iranian armed forces on US bases in Iraq and a series of threats to general conflict, diplomatic meetings and dense developments in
a number of countries in the Middle East.
The murderous attack of the American state (spearheaded for decades by a series of imperialist interventions, wars, bombings, overthrow,
civil war) is still an act of war within the fluid geopolitical condition that prevails. A treaty involving geopolitical rearrangements and
rivalries, as the regional conflicts taking place in the wider Middle East, not only do not escalate, but on the contrary, involve almost
all of the imperialist and regional forces within the confines of a widespread war.
Within this period of geopolitical liquidity, the Greek state, as a member of the European Union and NATO, is steadily oriented towards the
aspirations of its dominant political and economic elite as an integral part and feels the need to anchor itself in even more direct and
non-negotiable terms. West chariot and play the role of the gendarmerie and the watchman in the southeastern Mediterranean region ,
especially after the shocks in US-Turkish relations.
It is of particular importance that the Greek state, through the statements of its officials, was one of the few states to congratulate the
US on the killing at Baghdad airport, with the result that the Iranian state is targeting military bases in Greece in the event of an
engagement. . After all, this is yet another thorny example of the Greek state's involvement in the field of competition or even conflict.
We do not forget the bombings in Syria from the Souda base, the sale of military equipment and the planning for deployment of Patriot
special forces and anti-missile systems to Saudi Arabia, enhanced cooperation with a number of neighboring countries and the Tripartite -
Greece - ,
The increasing involvement of the Greek state in the military designs of NATO and its allies highlights the need to mobilize a massive and
militant anti-war movement that will target real-world leaders, putting internationalist solidarity among the peoples as the only choice.
the prospect of a generalized war. As states and bosses redistribute land, sovereigns extend their "spheres of influence", conflicts
escalate for financial and energy resources, EEZs and pipelines and war drums are even stronger, the blood of the people smells. that spills
and will spill for their interests.Peoples and societies, relying on their own strength and far from any aspiring patron, can fight for
their own interests. Struggle for a decent life away from wars, poverty, refugees and destitution. To strive for a better world of equality,
solidarity, justice, self-determination and peaceful coexistence.
Grab the thread of the anti-war mobilizations of earlier times and draw inspiration from them, to build a strong internationalist movement
from below against war, fascism, imperialism and modern totalitarianism.

The question of the independence of Catalonia raises lively debates within the libertarian unions. This is the case of the
anarcho-syndicalist CGT, which has 60,000 members, nearly a third of whom are in Catalonia. ---- In a 2017 interview, Thomas Lanssens gave
the union's position at its " summer " level[federal / Spanish note: " We are for the self-determination of the people, even if it is true
that the referendum does not offer all the necessary guarantees. The CGT has no definite position vis-à-vis independence because its
objective, as a union, is the defense of the rights of all workers.[...]We do not support the Catalan government against that of Madrid. "
[1]. ---- In Catalonia, within the CGT, we were able to observe different positions which seem in part to be conditioned by the social and
cultural circles from which the activists come. If everyone agrees to defend the right to self-determination of the peoples and condemn the
repression which is beating down on the separatists, some do not find justified the militant energy devoted to the movement.
Independence and social regression
In Sabadell, a working city in the northern suburbs of Barcelona, there are 600 members of the cégétistes, and the red and black center is
present in very precarious sectors: cleaning, home care, etc. In the peripheral districts of Sabadell, where both internal and external
Spanish immigration is significant, Catalan independence does not seem to be a popular concern. An activist from the CGT in Sabadell gives
us his position.
For him, reluctance regarding the independence question is clearly in the majority in Barcelona and its suburbs ; the relationship is
reversed in the rest of Catalonia. Mobilizing and calling a strike on separatist issues, he said, keeps workers away from the social question.
For example, the fight against the Aragonès law [2]on the privatization of public services goes into the background behind the events of
October.
He highlights the fact that defending Catalan political figures who are exiled and imprisoned seems inconsistent to him because they have
mostly implemented liberal, repressive and anti-social policies for years. Finally, the Catalan question has become so divisive within
society that it complicates the unity of employees in companies facing employers.
At the level of the CGT Catalonia (where the unions of the whole of Catalonia are federated), the positioning of the union is more to the
reinforcement of the movement of independence within which militant anarcho-syndicalists promote self-managed ideas in s 'based on the
aspirations and practices of the struggling Catalan people.
Some start from the principle that it is first useful to unite against the repression of a Spanish state with Francoist overtones, even if
it means having to fight afterwards against an independent Catalan state. Two positions which have their logic and their relevance but
unfortunately raise fears of deep heartbreak within the CGT both at Catalan and federal level.

2020 marks the 48th anniversary of the 1972 Bloody Sunday in Derry, a day in which 14 innocent people were murdered on the streets of Derry
as the British State who deployedthe notorious Paratroop Regiment in an effort smash a peaceful a civil rights march. ---- Each year,
anarchists in the city support the call for people to attend and support all Bloody Sunday commemorative events throughout the week from
discussions, film screenings and exhibitions and the annual Radical Bookfair. All of which concludes with the annual 'March for Justice' on
Sunday 2nd February. ---- As part of marking this years events the Bloody Sunday March Committee issued its annual statement as a way of
putting this years events into context for the 2020 Bloody Sunday march which read "One of the reasons why we continue to march for the
truth about Bloody Sunday is that we have come too far to stop now.
"Over the course of the 48 years since murder erupted in blood around Rossville Street many have peeled away and pulled out of the campaign.
"People have their lives to live, families to care for, problems of their own. Some lost hope of the rulers of Britain ever allowing light
to fall on the facts. Others came to accept a political argument that the pursuit of truth might endanger peace. But the case for continuing
to march becomes ever stronger with the passing of the years.
"Conservative politicians talk endlessly about "legacy issues" and "dealing with the past." But they don't want their own past laid out for
inspection.
"Inquests are denied, evidence destroyed, witnesses intimidated. Perjury is the native language of all imperialist endeavours.
"The political and military elite rises up in anger at a handful of lower-rank soldiers being charged for offences. But the only injustice
involved lies precisely in the fact that it's the lower ranks being put in the frame. Top-rank killers like General Michael Jackson continue
to walk the streets in the clear light of day.
"All across the world, power plots to tramp truth down. The relentless Israeli slaughter of Palestinians for wanting to live in their own
country, the containment of the Uigar people in Chinese concentration camps, the Saudi/US/UK bomb assault on Yemen - in each of these and
many more, what the officialdom fears most is truth.
"The Bloody Sunday march has always included the bereaved of these atrocities, too, in our remit.
"Political violence is never totally one-sided. But crimes like Bloody Sunday have a singular significance. When the State sends soldiers
out to kill citizens, it must be held to account. Otherwise, what can democracy mean?
"The march is open to everyone, irrespective of politics or any other aspect of life.
We march for justice in the Bogside with everywhere in mind. "An injustice to one is an injustice to all"
For anarchists, socialists, trade unionists or others who claim to have any sense of social justice today, it is vital that we continue to
stand in solidarity with those murdered on Bloody Sunday by the British State. In doing so support the continuing struggle of the relatives
of those murdered and the people by continuing the march for justice. We take a stand with all who defy state terror and exercise the right
to protest, be it here on the streets of Derry or Belfast, in Bagdad, in Ferguson or in Palestine.
