Our regular reading group will next meet on Tuesday, 17th of March 2020, 7-9pm at Freedom Bookshop (84b Whitechapel High St, London E1 7QX).
---- While the last two reading groups were an introduction to Marx and his own writings on economics and the state, we will close this
season (for now), by looking at some of the differences between Anarchism & Marxism, or better between Anarchists & Marxists. We will also
pick up on some of the discussions started at the last reading group. ---- Disclaimer: As always, we do not choose texts that we necessarily
agree with, but that educate and allow debate. ---- Have a read of the below and join the discussion! ---- Anarchist FAQ Section H1-H3: Why
do anarchists oppose state socialism ---- https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/the-anarchist-faq-editorial-collective-an-anarchist-faq-09-17

Some questions to consider:
- What do (some) Anarchists think is the difference between Anarchists and Marxists?
- What do (some) Marxists think is the difference between Anarchists and Marxists?
- Looking back at this season, which aspects of Marx's philosophy are useful for Anarchists?

Denmark in recent years like many other European countries has had a growing diasporic population as a result of ongoing conflict and war in
the Middle East. Unfortunately, there have been deadly clashes that has drawn a heated division. In 2015, a deadly shooting occurred as a
result of ongoing tension from a controversial series of depictions of the prophet Muhammad by Swedish artist Lars Vilks. Since then,
tensions between diasporic communities have risen as the Danish have become increasingly hostile toward them. By demonizing those who don't
learn the language and assimilate into Danish customs, working class refugees are sometimes relegated to ghettos (which is prime conditions
for worsening xenophobia, racism and hate crimes). Xenophobia has even led its way into legislation that is eerily familiar to forced Native
American assimilation. So, it is no surprise to the imagination that Danish director Ulaa Salim, whose parents are Iraqi, would create
2019's Sons of Denmark/Danmarks sønner, which takes place in a dystopic 2025 Denmark.
The setting is Denmark, 2025 but the xenophobic rhetoric from rising politician Martin Nordahl (Rasmus Bjerg) sounds frighteningly familiar
to the current state of politics and alarming rise of fascism. After a terror attack, the country's dormant division catches fire and
unleashes the rise of more vicious contentions between neo-Nazi groups and refugees. Zakaria (breakout star Mohammed Ismail Mohammed), a 19
year old trying to find belonging in a country that constantly rejects him, is caught in the crossfire while maintaining responsibility as
head of the household. The catalyst for radicalization sparks when anti-immigrant hate messages are written on the walls of his apartment
complex with pigs blood (the decapitated heads are left for all to see). This prompts Zakaria to become radicalized with a local group who
is planning to assassinate the public face of the rising fascist movement, Martin Nordahl. Beneath a local cafe is their headquarters, where
they house refugees who are in need of a community, home and escape from the rising attacks against them. Zakaria becomes close with Ali
(Zaki Youssef), who takes Zakaria under his wing to prepare him for the attack. Ali stands in as a surrogate father for Zakaria who lost his
father in Iraq, serving as a role model for his young and impressionable mind going under a life altering, ideological shift.
Simultaneously, Nordahl gains traction as he runs for office positioning himself as a family man and poster boy for a new Denmark. It's as
if Richard Spencer ran for president and charmed people with good looks all while continuing to unabashedly promote his fascist ideals
(contrary to the disheveled current president). Nordahl is the fresh face for a turning point in politics, a rebranded fascism that is more
palatable than a screaming businessman or seasoned politician. His ties to neo-nazi groups are glossed over repeatedly leaving the hands of
police in a legal bind and inevitably drowned in blood.
Martin Nordahl (Rasmus Bjerg)
The feeling of dread crawls into the bloodstream, Sons of Denmark is a raw portrait of our current world, riddled with a constant and
overbearing sense of fear and terror. All across the Europe (and the rest of the world) right-wing leaders and groups have exploited and
propagated fear against the waves of refugees who have escaped war torn countries. Fascism isn't something stupid people disseminate or a
product of irrational thought, it's calculated, manufactured and packaged in a digestible way to target a majority white audience who need a
scapegoat. It's also incredibly dangerous when fascism is given a high platform where it's tentacles seep into government and enact
dangerous policies. From public figure heads to the role of police, fascism provides a cloak that obscures worsening problems under
capitalism and instead pins the blame on a vulnerable target. From political leaders like Donald Trump or groups like the Danish People's
Party have utilized public fear of capitalism in decay and scapegoated it to whomever has a shred of empathy left for others in peril.
Zakaria's anger is rooted in reality, Nordahl's rise to power is the result of mass denial and dismissiveness of the uncontrollable effect
of unchecked and unchallenged fascism and national populism.
Zakaria (right) embraces his mother played by the amazing Asil Mohamad Habib (left)
The community of refugees living in diaspora are harbored in a cultural limbo expected to assimilate and reject a part of their identity
while their homeland is literally being torn apart by European and American militaries. The constant wars in the Middle East have done
irreparable damage to refugees and their children who carry on the unfortunate legacy of unhealed trauma. The relationship between Ali and
Zakaria illustrates the widening distance between generations who have integrated Danish culture in their lives and have almost completely
neglected their roots. The second half of the film explores Ali's identity closely and crescendos into an unforgettable and tragic climax.
Salim has painted a terrifying picture of the future as a wake up call to the present; it serves as bold commentary on current tensions in
Denmark between white and diasporic populations but also on current state of the world. A world in which fascism has unfortunately gained
traction and legitimacy in politics once again with no telling what the future holds if we choose to foolishly ignore it. Zakaria's
radicalization isn't a product blind mob mentality but a response to a legitimate threat as a result of the neglectful and delusional
government. The new fascistic wave of leaders like Nordahl aren't a far cry from charismatic talking heads with glossy language to obscure
their reprehensible disregard for humanity. Sons of Denmark is an incredibly disturbing film that hits incredibly close to home. Denmark is
thousands of miles away from the US but is an uncanny vision of a plausible future. As tensions peak, fascism and national populism is
handled as a product of irrationality rather than a credible threat that has seeped into the pores of the government.
Sons of Denmark is available to rent on Amazon Prime.

With the recent announcements of dates for Liverpool and the Anti-University, our list of anarchist and radical bookfairs across Britain and
Ireland is getting pretty full of events - including Bookfair 2020, the first anarchist showing of its kind in London for three years. ----
It's looking like a good crop this year with Dundee offering a whole new event while the London Radical Bookfair makes a return following
its 2019 hiatus. We've also included in this edition a couple of other notable events which are not technically bookfairs, but fit the
general theme! ---- Most of the regular showings are now declared (impressively well ahead of time in most cases), but we'll keep updating
as we go. ---- March 14th: Dundee ---- Boomerang Community Centre, 10 Kemback St, DD4 6ET
The first event of its kind in recent memory, the Dundee bookfair looks like it'll be well organised, putting on free childcare, free lunch
from 12-2pm from Food Not Bombs Dundee and hot drinks all day for donations. The organisers note: "We're going to showcase some of the
amazing groups doing work in Dundee and have a selection of independent vendors selling literature and zines.
"In the short term, we're actively trying to connect local activists and groups so we can platform them as best we can with the hope that
we'll be able to help them grow and share lessons learned. Our long term aim is to establish an autonomous space in Dundee and we see this
event as a vital part of that process."

The idea is simple: groups or individuals put on their own anarchist events and actions, the programme is then collated and promoted on
anarchist websites and social media. Last year was a success story with events across the country.
DEADLINE ALERT! Please be sure to submit your event by 1st April 2020 for inclusion in the programme. Any event submitted later than this
date will not be included.

In September, the Framasoft association announced the imminent closure of several services that are part of its "Deooglisons Internet"
project. Back on an adventure that UCL supported and approved. ---- In 2014, following the revelations of Edward Snowden [1], Framasoft
tackles a titanic project: making the Internet usable without Google ! Framasoft is thus part of a pragmatic militant thought: what can we
do to counter the all-round surveillance of our lives on the internet ? What practices and tools should be implemented to make the
"Internet[a place]of sharing and independence" ? ---- The word "degoogliser" is however reductive: Framasoft's approach is not limited to
offering libristic imitations of Google tools. "Through the services we deploy, we promote an economic model based on cost sharing, sharing
of resources, and accessibility to the greatest number. This model also has an educational character because we believe that by documenting
the deployment of services, a large number of users will in turn be able to share these resources."
More than four years later, the project has aroused the support, support and enthusiasm of Internet users. It also served as a springboard
for an even more militant project, Mobillizon[2]. This inspiring observation can comfort us about the capacity of activists to initiate
"utopian" actions which may seem impractical at first glance and which nevertheless end up being done and even by convincing widely.
Internet deframasoftisons
But that should not make us forget one of the crucial issues: how to "degooglize" the Internet without falling into a form of centralization
yourself? It is clear that for many of us, the process has become easy: are you looking for a Gafam tool to replace? Go see framatruc!
But it's a fight lost in advance: Framadavid is not the same weight as the GoliAth inFAMe. "[Framasoft]is, and wishes to remain, an
association on a human scale, a group of enthusiasts who experiment to try to change the world (one byte at a time).[...]We hold to our
associative model, we do not want to grow in mode "the start up which wants to be made larger than Google". If we want to keep our identity
without exhausting ourselves[...], and if we want to continue to experience new things, we have to reduce the burden on us." Hence the
desire of restricting association or stop multiple services[3]currently on offer.
The stop will be gradual (2021 at the latest) and Framasoft's wish is that others take over, in order to host, maintain and improve these
tools, while respecting the librarian ethic: decentralization, mutualisation and sharing . We regularly see the obstacle, unconscious and
collective, to self-management that is specialization, one of the facets of which is centralization. Efficiency, displayed as a pretext for
strengthening this specialization of mandates, cannot be held for a single reason. If there is no miracle cure for expanding and making
self-management practices last, Framasoft gives us an answer.
Long live self-management !
As libertarian communists, we salute this humble initiative which must be emulated ... even if it will put us in the dark! We will do our
best to help this decentralization.

Anarchist Youth carried out a banner shaking action from Üsküdar Ünalan Bridge for the members of the Group Comment, which was in a hunger
action. Those who sing the song of the fight and the song of resistance; Hail to those who make their struggle visible with their actions,
with revolutionary solidarity! ---- The text of our comrades from the Anarchist Youth about the action: ---- We greet the hunger action of
Grup Yorum with our banner that we hung on the Üsküdar Ünalan Bridge! ---- Freedom for Group Comment! ---- Ciao Bella. A folk song enslaved
by the peasants who were enslaved in the soil marched with the revolutionaries. In this geography, tens, hundreds of thousands of different
names have been the bearers of the rebellion; in folk, singing and marching struggle.
Riot after centuries, behind the mountains ... Thousands of us who fell in a fight ... Thousands of comrades who walked hand in hand,
shoulder to shoulder, saying that loving is a fight ...
Those who come from all over the place by breaking their chains turn the sprouts into fruits with the songs they sing together.
Freedom to our songs and folk songs!
And not only the "artists" who call them the best, but the group of revolutionary resistance poets in this geography, Freedom for Grup Yorum!
All of them are poets, they are bards who fight each other. Now they are resisting injustice and resisting injuries in prison. Hail to those
who resist! And to all the bards who always fill ourselves with the fire of the fight! Now, with the whistle of a Group Comment song in our
mouth, with the clenched fist in our hands, on the streets and squares for justice. Solidarity is the only liberation of revolutionaries in
every period of oppression and fascism. And we know that if all of us are not free, we are all captured.
As our comrades said in Iberia, where we said our best folk songs against oppression and fascism, everyone is on the barricade for justice
and freedom!
No matter how much the government attacks the power, the more it tries to make it captive, the cells will fall to your head!
Freedom for Group Comment!

Saturday 22/2, 12:00, Statue of Venizelos ---- As the political elite, OASTH executives and shareholders squeeze public funds, thousands of
poor diabolicals sail under the miserable regime of urban transport in Thessaloniki. ---- Since 1957 OASTH has been the monopoly of
Thessaloniki's public transport. One of the many paradoxes is that by 2017 the organization, although a legal entity under private law, is
subsidized by the state. This creates a condition of full security for shareholders' funds, as any revenue reductions are covered by state
funds. In 2017 OSTH is nationalized, put into special clearance and a new public body is set up. Today, Thessaloniki public transport is in
the form of a public-private partnership (PPP). ---- OASTH has taken over the transport project along with the KTEL buses, which have
already taken over 6 lines and from January will take 25 rural lines. The following will be lost from this treaty for yet another forum, as
the analog ticket that applies to KTELs is unlikely to apply to the specific lines mainly used by workers in industrial areas (Sindos,
Thermi, Oreokastro).
On the other hand, the situation at the bus hub has reached an impasse. Racist and sexist attacks, whether by passengers or drivers, are a
daily occurrence. Some drivers, on the other hand, had been leading such movements by excluding refugees from the buses before the ND
government excluded them from the hospitals. Also, the frequency of the itineraries is unacceptably low, so we stack up like sardines, until
recently a glass has been broken on the bus due to the suffocating crowd. Of course, those responsible (President of OSTH, Mayor of
Thessaloniki, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport) are hurrying to reassure us that conditions will improve, and that there will be a
competition for fleet purchases. The buses which, however, promise with their thick words they won't go out on the road before 2021! These
leaders urge us to be patient.
Obviously they have time to get on the bus, so to say so easily. For those of us who come to grips with the miserable conditions on OSTH
buses every day, we have to tell them that we are not patient. dozens of buses will be withdrawn due to age limit (20 years). At the same
time, dozens of vehicles are sprawling in the OASTH train station for half a year. Mitsotakis was outrageously cynical anyway when he said
that the situation with the Thessaloniki public transport would get much worse until it got better ... But better for whom? Obviously better
for the individuals who will take on the project, after the big buckwheat continues, with zero transparency of inputs and outputs of the
organization. Today every drone comes out and announces to us with great impudence that we are responsible for the situation of OASTH, the
"downers", the ones below who do not accept a ticket for our journeys. So are the wages coming to us, that is, at a time when constant wage
cuts and job elasticity have forced many of us to fail to pay the basics. They have the audacity and we are shaking our fingers, as the
taxes we pay are financed by OASTH funds, from which shareholders and executives of the organization eat and drink. Furthermore, Ticket
prices are rising rapidly, making it inaccessible on a daily basis for many and many who find it difficult to make ends meet. Ticket prices
are constantly rising, so that shareholders' drivers will not gag. In fact, the state undertakes to pay to OSTH either the full price or the
difference that arises for those who travel with OSTH for free or with a reduced ticket. Consequently, the artificial narrative that those
who fail to validate a ticket are responsible for the bad texts of OSTH constitutes a fairy tale that both the shareholders and executives
of OSTH, as well as the individual state and municipal leadership, in order to renounce the responsibilities they so burden corruption, as
well as their anti-popular policies. Ticket prices are constantly rising, so that shareholders' drivers will not gag. In fact, the state

The question is not whether the new body to be set up will be private, public or partnership of both. We want to have public and free
movement for everyone: workers, students, pensioners, unemployed, immigrants. Each of us is forced to use the bus to go to work, school,
hospital, etc. So you have no requirement to pay a ticket. The fare should be borne by those who benefit from our final destination, the
bosses and the state.
Under the current conditions of the dominant, capitalist social formation, capital has been overwhelmingly colonized over time, directing
every human activity to its reproduction. Even our own movements contribute to the reproduction of capital itself and of the dominant,
capitalist system itself. We move to work, to study (to work), to ride (to get out of work), to consume (our job pay), to go out on a job
search. In short, we move in order to finally move the cogs of the capitalist mechanism. Within this suffocating condition of capitalist
daily life the cost of commuting, among other utilities / services, is passed down from the bourgeoisie to the backs of the devil. Our
exploitation by the bourgeoisie is therefore not limited to our workplaces. Class bleeding extends to every conceivable level of our daily
lives, to every conceivable part of metropolitan tissue.
We call on the vast social majority of the oppressed and exploited to turn to collective treatment of their common problems, precisely
because the material interests of those at the base of the social and productive pyramid are in common. Guilty for the unbearable day-to-day
life we experience, for poverty, poverty, unemployment, social and class exclusion, public service degradation, hunger wages and crumbs
pensions, are those who live parasitically at the expense of the producers, their bosses and their political staff. That is why the world of
social base must erect mounds of resistance to the oppressors who oppress us, recognizing and fighting its true class enemy,
It is imperative in the here and now to try to recapture the stolen from the bourgeois parts of our daily lives. Collectively and in bulk we
do not hit tickets in the city (if we hit a ticket, then, as soon as we get off the city, we deliver it to a passenger), we sabotage the
cancellation machines, we show our solidarity with the passengers we boil down to of capitalist destitution, we do not allow racist and
sexist behavior to be tolerated, we persecute the controllers who play the role of rufian quasi-cops, we collectively erase the fines they
impose on us. We demand decent conditions for our commute, increased itineraries and urban, the necessary standards for the dignified access
of people with disabilities to public transport and, finally, free movement for all. Support the grassroots self-help initiatives related to
the fight for free and dignified movement for everyone.
We call in support of the demonstration against OASH's abominable public transport: Saturday 22/2, 12:00, Statue of Venizelos
NO TOLERANCE TO THE SPORTS OF OASTH MOVEMENTS
STRUGGLE AGAINST STATE AND CAPITAL BARBARITY, OUR SOCIAL EXCLUSIONS AND OUR CLASSIC REVOLUTION FROM DOCUMENT
WHAT THE CAPACITY OF CAPITAL DEPARTMENT IS INTENDED FOR, SO WILL SOCIAL DISPUTE AND PROLITERAL RESISTANCE
WE REQUIRE RISING ROUTES OF URBAN TRANSPORT, FREE AND SAFE MOVEMENTS FOR EVERYONE
WITH CLASS SOLIDARITY, COLLECTION AND SELF-ORGANIZATION WE ARE RESPONSIBLE TO STATE AND BENEFICIAL ATTACKS

The quarterly Casse-roles just released its 10 th issue in November 2019. The "newspaperfeminist and libertarian free prices", written by
volunteers, defends a social feminism that seeks not to separate the feminist struggle of the fight anticapitalist. ---- In August 2017, the
team of nine volunteers, men and women, decided to found Casse- by noting the lack of a widely distributed newspaper for all audiences on
issues of gender and sexist domination. roles. Displaying a desire to anchor in current social struggles, and to be open to all feminist
struggles, the newspaper alternates forms: between conceptual analyzes, historical and current accounts, literary sections, state of
international struggles, pamphlets and feminist current affairs . By wanting to make visible the struggles of women, especially the most
vulnerable or marginalized, but also those that we could describe as "remarkableThrough their actions to improve the situation of women and
men, Casse-Role tries to fill a void in the feminist press.
In children's reading books, the attributes of the feminine and masculine are always the same, to women the apron and the stroller, to the
men the briefcase when they come home from work, then the chair and the glasses to read the newspaper... "Dad reads and mom sews".
The volunteers of the newspaper felt cramped in their social habits, and wanted to shake up preconceptions and break the roles, this is how
the quarterly was born.
A mixed feminism
The editorial team therefore chose as a mascot these discreet heroines of everyday life that we tend to forget, stored on their shelves: the
pans without which we would all be on a dry diet. Contraception, abortion, violence, rape, female genital mutilation, harassment, parity,
unequal wages, domestic work, etc.: the newspaper proposes to draw up an inventory, to inventory what appears on these questions and to give
the floor to anonymous women and men who resist gender stereotypes.
The Casse-Role team is mixed, and defends this posture: "Feminism has to appeal to men in particular... to make them followers of feminism."
Assuming that equality will only be achieved when people become aware of their rule (and therefore their power over women), the newspaper
regularly addresses thematic antipatriarcales which also affects men. From the first issue, an article is devoted to the Zéromacho
collective, a male collective committed against prostitution and for equality, which reflects in particular on the question of "choiceLeft
to prostitutes in a patriarchal society. The February-April 2020 issue promises an impressive dossier on male contraception, but also
articles on pensions, feminicides, sex education in Tunisia ...
"Does Breaking Roles have an editorial" line " ? "Feminist and libertarian" is already a lot !". If the newspaper does not have a rigorously
defined line, it expresses through its editorials a great internal democracy, regularly publishing the divergent opinions within its editors
and editors. Breaking roles has extremely limited means and its future is not assured. At a free price to be accessible to the greatest
number (by giving the possibility of acquiring the same product according to its means and motivations), without advertising to ensure its
independence, it depends exclusively on its readership (both to publicize the newspaper and disseminate it only for its funding). Riddles
can be found in bookstores, activist press tables and by subscription.
