In the current pension system, women receive an average pension 40% lower than that of men. The counter-reform project risks dramatically
worsening these inequalities. But everywhere, women are taking part in the mobilizations to reject this even more unjust system. ---- It is
now a well known fact: economic inequalities within the couple are the bed of domestic violence. Indeed, financial dependence on her spouse
very often prevents women from fleeing violent situations and keeps them under control. Furthermore, precariousness is, in general, an
aggravating factor for violence against women. That is why any measure that worsens income inequality between men and women are deeply
patriarchal measures.
However, the government's plan to counter-reform pensions will have these effects. By lowering survivors' pensions, taking into account the
entire career and not just the best 25 years, taking less account of pregnancies and childbirths, it is a frontal attack on women's pensions.

Feminist resistances
This is why many women are fighting against this project. In their workplaces, in their general assemblies of strikers, of course. But a
specific feminist mobilization was also born to put forward these subjects.

In many GAs of strikers, women have spoken out to denounce these inequalities and to call to join the fight. They were able to be helped in
this by substantive work carried out by the trade union organizations in November, in particular the CGT and Solidaires. These trade union
organizations provided a square and unassailable argument which gave the intellectual weapons to overthrow this government idea that women
would be "the big winners" of the counter-reform.

But specific exchanges between women are still to be built, even if attempts have been made in several cities, such as in Lyon or Paris.
Because it is not enough to have the arguments, the feminist current needs a strategy, which allows it to pass from arguments to action.
Which allows him, above all, to massify more and more, to be able to accommodate all the workers, the precarious, the unemployed. This would
organize feminist demands, broaden the base and raise these themes high. And for this, unions are a precious tool. These are the structures
that organize the most women. And they are far from talking only about inequalities at work! The idea of a continuum of social and
gender-based violence is accepted by Solidaires as well as by the CGT.

Libertarian feminists will have at heart to build a broad and emancipatory class feminism, taking part in all social mobilizations.

As previously announced, Kia Ora Gaza has been invited to facilitate a volunteer from New Zealand/Aotearoa to join the 2020 Freedom Flotilla
to once again challenge Israel's illegal naval blockade of Gaza, and pressure governments to take action. ---- Kia Ora Gaza is a partner in
the international Freedom Flotilla Coalition, a global citizens initiative, which, at the request of the Palestinians, is currently planning
to sail again to Gaza in May this year - the tenth anniversary of Israel's deadly attack on a six-boat peace flotilla to Gaza in 2010 when
Israeli commandos killed 10 civilians and injured 56 others on the Mavi Marmara in international waters. ---- 2020 is also deeply
significant, as eight years ago the UN predicted that, due to Israel's constant military bombardments, crippling siege and blockade, the
Gaza Strip would become uninhabitable by this year.

We welcome applications to represent our country on this important international mission.

We are seeking a steadfast human rights advocate or journalist with an affinity for indigenous struggles, especially in support of justice
and freedom for the Palestinian people, 2 million of whom remain besieged in impoverished Gaza.

The applicant should be reasonably healthy, and able to set aside about two weeks at the end of May - early June. The mission will include
non-violence and safety training before sailing the Mediterranean towards Gaza, facing risks with the likely illegal capture and then
detention in Israel - followed by deportation and a ten-year ban from entering Israel.

However, if the flotilla manages to break through the blockade (this could be that historic moment - it's got to happen sometime!), expect a
huge, jubilant welcome at the port of Gaza.

NZ reps on previous Gaza Flotillas have included a MaoriTV film crew led by journalist Ruwani Perera in 2015, Green MP Marama Davidson in
2016, and Unite Union National President, Mike Treen in 2018.

We have launched an appeal to cover all the costs for this mission, which will focus on the plight of the one million children and young
people in Gaza, and will carry some humanitarian aid.

Our mission is peaceful, our purpose is humanitarian, with the aim of ending Israel's inhuman blockade as a major step towards peace and
justice in Palestine. For until that day there can be no peace in the Middle East. And without peace in the Middle East, there can be no
world peace. It's that crucial.

If you would like to consider representing NZ/Aotearoa on the 2020 Freedom Flotilla, please contact the Kia Ora Gaza Trust before the end of
February. Email address: office

Or contact the Kia Ora Gaza organiser, Roger Fowler on 0212999491 or at roger.fowler

DAY: Tuesday, February 25 ---- Place: Sepúlveda Street, in front of the Conciliation Service of the Generalitat de Catalunya. ---- TIME:
11.30am ---- The CGT of Catalonia will enter, tomorrow Tuesday, February 25, a general strike notice of 24h. by the 8th of March. ---- The
reasons behind this call are obvious: from inequalities in the workplace to the systemic causes that generate them. ---- In any State, there
will be an interest in relegating women at home, in the most precarious jobs, to undervolting to the tasks that most women do, to caring.
---- To give less value to any occupation that women have historically taken on. And if they are migrant and refugee companions, doubly.
---- That is why there are plenty of reasons to stop production on March 8, but also to build a new world day by day away from the
patriarchal structures that the States suppose.

The CNT union calls for the fight against patriarchy in all its forms, both on the street and at workplaces. ---- The National Labor
Confederation (CNT) in this 8M, Workers' Day, calls for joining forces around the anti-fascist struggle. Feminism will be the spearhead that
puts an end to this weapon of repression, inequality and hatred, which is growing stronger in institutions and in public discourse. In the
face of this, the anarcho-syndicate claims that diversity and transversality are the engine of class and combative feminism , breaking the
circle of uniformity sought by capitalism, patriarchy and fascism. ---- Household workers, migrant women, trans, racialized, pensioners,
workers, skilled or not ... we are all called to a struggle that is for the rights of all but also for a better society. Feminism as a wall
against fascism . Something that has always existed but that, more than ever, it is necessary to remember. We will not stop listening to
speeches on the priorities of one or the other movement, on what separates us, what sets us apart, but we need to be clear that the common
enemy is who he is. He wants us to be retaliated, precarious, without rights and isolated.

That is why this 8M, as in the previous ones, CNT goes out to the streets to claimequality in the workplace, the repeal of labor reforms
that especially attack women workers, denouncing the exploitation and violation of rights, especially in the so-called 'feminized' sectors,
requiring the recognition as a professional disease of diseases that occur in these sectors and are not recognized for affecting women
mostly, claiming the incorporation of domestic work at the same level as other jobs, denouncing the wild unemployment suffered by trans
people, the helplessness in which Immigration Law leaves our migrant companions with the discrimination and stereotyping suffered by
racialized people at work and social, rejecting fallacies such as that of capitalist feminism branded on the Ibex 35 and betting on decent
retirements for both women who have contributed economically and those who work inside the home, giving a face for those who haven't they
have no choice but to survive in the submerged economy.

We will continue on the front line and fight side by side with the rest of the feminist movement so that caring or motherhood are not a
brake on women. We believe that extending maternity and paternity leave is not enough to make life the center of the economy and not the
market. That is why we demand that the market be the one that adapts to life in order to build a society with values. We want real and
effective help for minors in the care, as well as for relatives or dependent people for whom we are responsible. Caring responsibility with
our colleagues, more presence of women in representation places giving us visibility in social organizations, as well as in unions. Starting
with ours.

We want to be the drop that overflows the tide that ends the sexist violence. From workplaces, at home and on the street, against any kind
of harassment or threats that threaten the human rights of more than half the population, with which the CNT is committed as an
anarcho-syndicalist organization, of class, anti-militarist, anti-fascist and feminist we are.

We are warming up engines for the next fight day of March 8. This year has the peculiarity of falling on Sunday, a day that presents other
peculiarities such as those that want to highlight both the feminist movement and trade unionism. We will update this post with the future
calls that will arrive ---- Murcia ---- CGT Murcia has communicated today to the labor authority GENERAL STRIKE for the days 8 and 9 March
2020, in compliance with the agreement taken at the assembly of affiliates and affiliates held last Wednesday, February 19. ----
Specifically, this strike is called for the following REASONS: ---- Existence of a huge wage gap between men and women that, although it
occurs throughout Spain, in Murcia is singularly high.
Impossibility of reconciling professional and family life, and there are no legislative measures that allow Murcia workers to achieve this
objective without suffering reprisals or postponement of work because they are mothers or face the care of their children, without there
being any legislative measures aimed at encouraging and facilitate such family duties with their spouses.
Existence of a higher unemployment rate among women, the result of the endemic discrimination they suffer, as well as a singular labor
precariousness because they suffer the bulk of temporary contracts and part-time work.
High rates of workplace and sexual harassment, without adequate measures to address it.
Unique discrimination against migrant women, especially in the field, where they suffer from obscene labor exploitation.
Singular precariousness of domestic workers, who lack the necessary support measures to prevent their exploitation and guarantee decent pay
and commensurate with the hours actually worked.
Total helplessness of women who perform family care tasks, because they receive no benefit or protection for such essential work.
Discrimination against employees of the Public Administrations with respect to their peers, both at the remuneration level and at the labor
protection level.
Unprotection of women workers against sexist violence.
Inequality of women workers in the access of basic consumer goods with respect
to men.
Existence of an educational system that promotes patriarchal values and perpetuates discrimination
And the objectives we intend to achieve through it are the following:

The adoption of concrete and immediate measures in companies and autonomous public administrations that end the salary gap between men and
women, and allow the achievement of decent employment, promotion and remuneration working conditions, as well as measures that end
inequality in pensions, and effective control of compliance.
The establishment of social and economic labor policies of the autonomous government that make effective the real reconciliation of work and
personal family life, as well as co-responsibility in care.
The withdrawal of capital policies, laws and actions that lead to discrimination in women's access to employment and the establishment and
promotion of effective measures to reduce the rate of unemployment of women.
The eradication of labor sexual harassment, job precariousness, temporality and the high rate of contracts with partial hours.
The effective material equality of migrant and refugee women, as well as the closure of CIEs and the end of deportations.
The effective and real comparison of Household Employees to the general regime.
The consideration of care tasks as work entitled to remuneration
as well as the right to their independent contributory benefits.
Effective matching between employees and employees at the service of Public Administrations.
The demand of the autonomous government for concrete and effective measures against sexist violence.
The equality of women in access to basic consumer goods and sustainability.
For a non-sexist education. Development of coeducation in non-violent non-competitive values and in equality.
The strike will begin at 0:00 on March 8, 2020, ending at 23:59 on March 9 and extending throughout that time period uninterruptedly.

Secretariat of Feminisms SURM CGT

Catalunya

In coordination with the feminist movement, the 17,200 people of the third union in Catalonia have debated in the 54 territorial assemblies
the advisability or not of calling a general strike on the day of the working woman of this 2020.

The elected delegates have agreed that, for the third consecutive year, the CGT will call a general strike in Catalonia to demand different
demands against the double oppression that capitalism and patriarchy exerts on working-class women.

This year the calendar makes the 8M coincide on Sunday, but it is not a holiday for all people who work shifts, in the hospitality and
commerce sectors, in call centers, in hospitals, in transport, many of these jobs strongly feminized and in generalized situations of job
insecurity.

For all of them we call on the LABOR STRIKE. For all women to take a CARE strike, to attend with determination and firmness to the
neighborhood pickets that will be convened. For all people to make CONSUMPTION strike against the capitalist system, do not buy, do not
consume. For everyone, going outside to express our rejection of patriarchal violence against women, discrimination based on gender or
sexual orientation, against racism and labor exploitation.

Because our liberation as women and class will be possible only by ourselves.

LONG LIVE THE GENERAL STRIKE!

Instead of layoffs: slow down the assembly line and shorten working hours! ---- Why the labor dispute? ---- Working conditions at VW Poznan
continue to deteriorate. The bosses are said to have introduced a number of changes only during the 2008 financial crisis - which make work
and life outside of work more difficult, but which bring higher profits to the company. The recession is long gone, but VW Poznan's
management continues to uphold and even tighten the labor standards introduced during the crisis. The number of pieces is constantly
increasing, while at the same time the number of workers employed at the individual workplaces is falling. Our working week is getting
longer and longer - we even have to come to work on Saturday afternoon. As if that wasn't enough, the company has now announced mass
layoffs. Up to 750 people are to be released.

We do not agree with this illogical and anti-worker approach. We have been working longer and harder than in the German VW factories for a
long time. When the numbers were reduced there and the working hours were shortened, the pressure on us increased. We don't want to be
treated as second class people. We are fed up with the machines running at top speed.

The company organization of the Workers' Initiative (Inicjatywa Pracownicza) at VW Poznan, which represents over 500 people in the company,
has therefore entered into a labor dispute with the management.

What does the industrial dispute mean?

The workers organized in the union officially presented their demands to the company (see below). The management has started negotiations to
meet these requirements. In the event that our demands are rejected, we are planning various protest actions and a ballot on a strike to
enforce our demands. Already a week of strikes, ie legal strikes at VW Poznan, would cost the company a lot more than an annual salary for
the 750 people who were to be laid off. After all, this factory only exists because of our hard work. That is why the group must finally
start to respect its workers and improve our working conditions.

How does VW Poznan react to the industrial dispute?

Management hired four external lawyers for the first meeting with representatives of the workers' initiative; these come from the most
expensive law firm in Poland, but it is also the most frequently defeated in court against our union. VW Poznan's lawyers stated that the
demand to slow down the assembly line, an ancient and obvious demand in the world of work, does not fall under the definition of workers'
demands and cannot be the subject of a labor dispute ... We think the company should stop, yet waste more money on expensive lawyers and
just accept our claims instead.

What do we ask?

1. Reduction in quantities
Currently, production targets are increasingly being achieved at the expense of occupational health and safety. The increasing pace of work
ensures high profits for the group, but goes beyond the psychological and physical stress limits of the workers and violates occupational
safety regulations. Instead of using the knowledge and experience of the workers and investing in real increases in efficiency at work,
management charges us the costs, because it is cheaper. That is why we work on jobs that are less well equipped than those in Germany, but
still have to bring higher quantities. This type of work organization is long-term
for wear. We are fed up with the machines running at top speed.

2. Reduction in working hours - end of the duty to work on Saturday afternoon
We cannot work in a constant "state of emergency". Except in real exceptional cases, the working week may not be extended to Saturday
afternoon. Working hours are extended because there is too much work, and at the same time workers are fired as if there is actually too
little work. We are against one working for two so that the group can make higher profits. Our whole life does not belong to the group. We
insist on our right to spend this time with our families.

3. Introduction of a monthly compensation period
In order to survive the 2008 crisis, management extended the compensation period to one year and set up an "overtime bank". This has given
the board the opportunity to create shift plans in which we do not have a day off for months and then spend less time on standby. The crisis
has been over for over ten years, but the company is still using crisis solutions at our expense. We no longer want to work under such
conditions!

4. Equal opportunities for trade union work
The workers' initiative demands equal treatment with the trade union IS-GTU Solidarnosc, which is also represented in the company. Although
workers keep telling us about occupational safety violations, the employer refuses to allow us to sit on the occupational health and safety
committee, does not allow us to speak at company meetings, and makes approval of such banal communication tools as a trade union bulletin
board conditional on us quitting To distribute newspapers and leaflets. We cannot agree to this, the discrimination against our union must stop!

It is born out of their desire for closer collaboration and to add an international dimension to their local work, which will allow them to
coordinate with comrades around the world and make their struggles visible to a global audience. ---- The International Conference of Labor
Unions in the Garment Industry began today in Colombo, Sri Lanka ---- Delegates from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Spain, Germany and Sri Lanka will
discuss common strategies to fight precariousness and allow workers to achieve their demands through mutual support and international
solidarity. ---- 21 February, 2020 in international, Syndicalism ---- The Dabindu Collective, after touring across Europe (where they
visited France, Germany and Spain), organized this meeting of unions in the region, with contributions from the CNT from Spain and the FAU
from Germany. The ICL's representative introduced the confederation's principles and reinforced the idea that rights can only be gained by
fighting for them.

The Federation of Garment Workers Union (FGWU) in Myanmar, together with the Solidarity Center, described difficulties with and violations
of labor union rights. The Garment Workers Trade Union Center (GWTUC) of Bangladesh explained that union members and workers who demand
improvements are arrested, fired and the victims of false allegations.

Today, we see that the model of grassroots unions is expanding all over Asia. All participants explained that their organizations are
independent of political parties. Workers make the decisions in their unions, which are also free of hierarchy. The first day of the
conference closed with a workshop looking at all the actors in the textile production chain. The conference will continue on Saturday with
the same participants and a video feed from Brazil and Argentina.
