On October 28, a UCL delegation met comrades from the Catalan CGT (anarcho-syndicalist) in Barcelona, then Embat activists. These meetings
were very warm and gave us information on the situation in Catalonia. ---- Received in the beautiful premises of the Catalan CGT (which has
nearly 20,000 members), we were interviewed for their press organ, Catalunya [1]The questions mainly concerned the process of fusion between
Alternative libertarian and the Coordination anarchist groups which gave birth to UCL, then we discussed the situation in Catalonia. ---- We
then met comrades from Embat, a Catalan libertarian communist organization founded three years ago. Their positions on the Catalan question
are still under discussion, even if a few lines emerge: the comrades are committed to the self-determination of the Catalan people while
criticizing the claims for the creation of an independent state on the bases proposed by the social democratic and pro-European fringe of
the movement. They are committed to suppressing the movement and recent incarceration, but are reluctant to support the release of
politicians who have participated in imposing anti-social and security reforms. mossos ", police force of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
If the independence camp wins, the question of fighting against a local state already arises, opposing a federalist vision, notably through
the reference to the democratic confederalism of Rojava.
For our part, we exposed to Embat, the process which gave birth to UCL, the hopes which we harbor as for our future development in the
hexagonal social and political panorama. We also stressed the importance of building the international Anarkismo network together and
invited them to form an Embat delegation to attend our 2020 Red and Black Summer Days.

The anarcho-syndicalist central asks why CCOO and UGT are sharing arguments with Confebask and Iñigo Urkullu. ---- "These unions are using
fallacious arguments, when they should be calling for a strike across the state," says CNT. ---- This 30E is getting closer and closer, and
those who are against the strike increase their attacks on it, with the aim of undermining it. CCOO and UGT have forgotten the
responsibility of the trade union movement regarding the issues that have been put on the table. They have also forgotten that, although
pensioners do not have a job, they are still working class. ---- It has been criticized that it is a "nationalist" strike, something
absolutely false. Just just review what was said at the press conference on November 26 in Bilbao. Also, it should be noted that the
responsibility of carrying it out throughout the state is not of ELA and LAB, since its scope is Euskal Herria, but of CCOO and UGT.
However, both unions have not wanted to do so. It has also been said that this strike divides the working class: apparently, if it is not
with CCOO and UGT it is "division", something totally torticerous.
Likewise, it has been affirmed from certain sectors that this strike has divided the movement of pensioners, something again false. There
have always been different visions in that movement, and those who disagree have manifested themselves publicly. In any case, we must not
forget that the pensioners movement as such decided to make this strike. This movement remains cohesive and, in fact, more and more
pensioners are mobilizing.
Before the summer of 2019, the pensioners movement made a contact wheel with unions, and none (CCOO included) refused the general strike. In
fact, from CNT the possibility of going beyond a 24-hour strike and of carrying it out throughout the state was raised.
There is also talk of giving the new Spanish government a chance. Since when should the trade union movement be folded to what a government
says? That the government does what it thinks it should do, but the trade union movement should never be subordinated to what a government
says. And less share argument with Confebask and Iñigo Urkullu.
For all this, from CNT we say that there are plenty of reasons to strike this January 30.
