One hundred years ago, on March 8, 1917, workers in Saint Petersburg (Russia) went on strike, demonstrated to demand bread and peace and
thus initiated a historic revolutionary movement. Today, in more than 50 countries, women are participating in an international strike
movement. ---- We, the women in the world, organize ourselves in a test of strength and in a common cry: the international strike of women.
We stop. We are on strike, We are putting into practice the world in which we want to live" [1]. ---- In 2017, the international call
#NosotrasParamos (# Onarrêtetoutes) in Argentina launched the first international strike by women following the femicide of a 16-year-old
girl Lucià Perez, raped and murdered.
The feminist struggle is international
By going on international strike on March 8, for paid and domestic work, women make it possible to make visible, denounce and confront
social, economic and political violence which cannot be reduced to a private or domestic question[2].
As of 2018, millions of women have gone on strike around the world: in Spain (five to six million on the streets), Argentina, Chile, Poland,
and in more than 50 countries, there were hundreds of thousands.
In 2019, the feminist strike is still gaining ground and affects all continents[3]. In Spain, a thousand meetings have been planned to
demand the end of gender-based violence and equal pay. In Italy, 50,000 demonstrators in Rome and several thousand in Milan, Naples, Genoa,
Bologna or Palermo have gathered. The association Non una di Meno[4]called for a feminist strike on March 8 to fight against all violence
and discrimination (family, work, street, hospitals, schools ...), but also the freedom of women in a context of attacks on abortion and
return to family values.
For the first time, the Belgians were called to a total strike on the occasion of the international day of the rights of the women: strike
of salaried work, care, consumption and studies. The women's movement is the engine of social movements all over the world: everywhere the
women's movement is rising, massing and standing up.
Violence and abortion: decisive subjects
If the international strikes of women were born in Argentina and then throughout Latin America, from the fight against feminicides, they
quickly spread to other continents and other themes: in the United States (Women's March and # MeToo), Iceland (strike for equal pay), Spain
and Poland (right to abortion), Italy (Non Una di Meno).
The recent attacks against abortion (closings of centers for voluntary termination of pregnancy, budget cuts in family planning, media
offensive against anti-abortion) make this a major issue in this strike.
An international situation that resonates in France
A year after #MeToo, the marches organized in France on the occasion of the International Day for Combating Violence Against Women brought
together 50,000 people across the country[5].
In 2019, the mobilizations started in July against feminicides and the date of September 28 for the right to abortion, prepared the historic
mobilizations of November 23 where 150,000 people took to the streets throughout the territory.
The fight against the El Khomri law and the Nights Standing have been tremendous political accelerators for feminism. Many feminist
collectives, women unionists then developed analyzes, lines of demands and specific material for the exploitation and oppression of women,
fight against the impoverishment of women, rejection of the imposed part-time, mental burdens linked domestic work, harassment at work and
analysis carried out on the so-called "female" sectors particularly affected by precariousness.
The uprising of women in the yellow vests movement is also an indicator of this dynamic. A feminist protest platform was born from these
mobilizations from the first assembly of the assemblies of Commercy, denouncing the inequalities of wages, partial times imposed, claiming
aid for situations of handicap, the need for crèches in the workplace, the end impunity for violence.
Today, the movement against pension reform only confirms this large-scale movement and has highlighted the government's instrumentalization
of women's work. This reform harms them, in fact, seriously: lowering survivor's pensions and lowering generalized pensions for women,
abolishing the increase in the duration of insurance, etc.
The battle against pension reform has become a feminist battle denouncing the double exploitation of women: underpaid and precarious, it is
however on them that the life of family cells rests. Across France, mobilizations are being prepared. Joining the call of the collective #
Onarrêtetoutes for the feminist strike, with or without specific calls depending on local realities or sectors, women are mobilizing.
In Rennes, a demonstration focusing on the Sunday work strike (care, sales, personal assistance, etc.) and domestic workers seems to be
taking shape. In Brest and Montpellier, it is a very large inter-organization which is implementing this mobilization, with a resumption of
the national text drawn up by # Onarrêtetoutes, supplemented with local expectations.
When women get up, the people advance
In direct connection with the fight against the pension reform project, another national call bringing together unions and feminist
collectives call on March 8 for a "March of the big winners", finally taking up many of the demands proposed by the collective # We stop all.
This feminist strike of March 8 helped create the feminist counter-powers essential to the emergence of an egalitarian and united society,
free from the patriarchal system, the state and its institutional relays, capitalism and racism.

Conspiracy theories, stupidity, and authoritarianism are hampering attempts to deal effectively with the Corona Virus. ---- COVID-19 - known
as the coronavirus - emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan. It's flu-like symptoms enabled the quick spread of the virus within the city. It
also allowed the spread of the disease beyond Wuhan despite the attempts of the Chinese government to curb it by resorting to drastic
measures of arresting and detaining suspected carriers. ---- Now it has spread globally. As of March 5th, 2020, 97,893 people have been
infected worldwide with 7100 cases being regarded as serious. 3353 people have died of whom approximately 3013 were in China and 340 in
other countries. The most serious outbreaks outside China have been in northern Italy, Iran and South Korea. The rates in many countries may
be under-reported because of health officials refusing to test people reporting flu symptoms, especially Japan. The virus has impacted an
estimated 87 countries and territories. 53,786 people have recovered from the virus. (Statistics from various government health agencies as
charted in the webpage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_outbreak_by_country_and_territory) According to the World
Health Organisation (WHO), it takes about five days from exposure before people manifest the symptoms of the coronavirus. Not surprisingly
the elderly, very young children and those with respiratory problems are most at risk.
What is noteworthy about the coronavirus isn't the virus itself. It has been the fear, misinformation and over the top reactions including
panic buying that has occurred in many countries including here in New Zealand where there have been five confirmed cases of the coronavirus
at the time of writing (1 News, 6th March 2020).
Conspiracy theories and misinformation have not only fuelled racism against East Asians, especially the Chinese and Koreans, but it has also
hampered attempts to deal with the virus. Many of the claims being made by conspiracy theorists have included that it is a form of
population control, a bio-weapon unleashed by the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) against various governments currently at odds
with the United States ("China coronavirus: Misinformation spreads online". BBC News Online . 30 January 2020). Alternatively, the
coronavirus was created by the United States government to enable American businesses to make a profit on the vaccines being used to fight
the virus. (Rubio, Marco: "Marco Rubio: Russia, China, and Iran are waging disinformation war over coronavirus". New York Post. 3rd March
2020. Considering Marco Rubin is a Republican Senator and Member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and Committee on Foreign
Relations his comments should be treated with discretion.)
The conspiracy theories surrounding the coronavirus are similar to those that claimed that the Ebola virus, AIDS/HIV and the SARS virus were
all secretly created in labs by the CIA. These conspiracy theories have been peddled by various government agencies in the Middle East and
Russia for many years as well as thoroughly discredited anti-vaccination campaigners, shock jock conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones (of
InfoWars infamy) and various YouTube channels. (Ghaffary, Shirin (31 January 2020). "Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube struggle with
coronavirus hoaxes". Vox .)
Just as disturbing has been the accusations that health authorities have deliberately withheld or downplayed the true numbers of people who
have been infected by the coronavirus. Such claims have surfaced on various social media sites and have even been repeated in many
traditional media outlets in which it has been alleged that Chinese and Taiwanese officials have lied about the true numbers of people
who've been infected by the coronavirus. (BBC online, January 30th, 2020)
Most governments have followed the recommendations of the WHO on their website page Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) advice for the public.
That is, for people who have been to northern Italy, Iran, South Korea, and China to be quarantined for about fourteen days and for people
who think they may have been infected to get tested as soon as possible. To avoid the possible spread of the virus such people are being
encouraged to call their local Health provider rather than turn up in person. People are also being told to be more vigilant about basic
hygiene like washing hands with sanitizer after handling food, using the toilet or coming into contact with people who might have flu-like
symptoms. If people cough or sneeze they should do so into the crook of their elbows rather than their hands. If they have flu-like symptoms
they should wear a surgical mask. People are encouraged to practice social distancing, such as not shaking hands. The taking of such
precautionary measures has helped to slow the rate of infections in some countries.
There has been one exception to this: the United States. Rather than addressing the virus Trump and other members of his administration have
been spreading misinformation. In an interview with Sean Hannity on March 4th, he claimed the WHO had exaggerated the numbers of people
infected by the virus and that the potential impact of the coronavirus is part of a Democrat plot against him. He has also misled or lied
about the United State's government's ability to deal with the coronavirus by claiming their measures to contain it are airtight and that
the virus is no more serious than the outbreak of the seasonal flu. (Walters, Joanna; Aratani, Lauren (5 March 2020). "Trump calls WHO's
global death rate from coronavirus ‘a false number'". The Guardian .)
As a result, there has been no consistent response from federal agencies. Apart from Trump peddling misinformation about the coronavirus, it
has largely been left up to the various states to decide how to address the problem. The result has been that many people with flu-like
symptoms are getting contradictory information, not being able to undertake any tests unless they have medical insurance and not even
getting told what self-imposed quarantine involves. This means that many people may be spreading the coronavirus without being aware of it
and that the cases that have been reported may be an under-estimate. (The U.S. Response to Coronavirus Is Uneven: It Depends on Where You
Live, Wall Street Journal, March 4th, 2020) .The response of the United States government shows what happens when a so-called democracy is
in the hands of a narcissist who peddles conspiracy theories and is confronted by a crisis as serious as this.
The Chinese government's response to the coronavirus went to the other extreme. The full power of the authoritarian regime was deployed to
deal with the coronavirus epidemic. According to the livescience.com website article, China gets ‘mixed report card' in its coronavirus
response. How will the US do? (March 2nd, 2020) the initial response was to arrest the doctor who first brought the coronavirus to the
attention of the world and to clamp down hard on the reporting of the number of cases and even fudging the criteria of diagnosing cases to
make the figures look lower than was the case. They also dismissed Wuhan authorities who raised the alarm about the impact of the
coronavirus in Wuhan. They also refused to accept assistance from the U.S Centre for Disease Control and the WHO at a point when the
assistance could've made a major difference.
The Chinese government was responsible for "instituting the largest public health experiment in the history of humankind, which is the
quarantine of Wuhan[city]in Hubei province," using methods that included arresting and forcibly detaining people who were suspected of
having the coronavirus in their homes and censoring any criticism of their methods such as its quarantine measures or the facilities that
were rapidly built to isolate and treat people with the coronavirus. Live Science also pointed out that "It's difficult, however, to see how
effective the quarantine is because China hasn't consistently studied the virus' spread among subpopulations... According to a Feb. 28
opinion piece in the journal JAMA, "it appears that the strict measures China took may have ‘bought the world some time' but did not prevent
the global dissemination of SARS-CoV-2," the virus that causes the disease COVID-19." In other words, there's no way of knowing if the
methods used by the Chinese government in Wuhan have worked.
From my perspective, the responses of both the American and Chinese governments have been pretty much the same: pretend that the problem
isn't so bad and that there are systems in place to deal with it, use the epidemic to stomp on basic human rights such as being detained
without trial and freedom of movement and accuse anyone trying to highlight the seriousness of the epidemic of being part of a conspiracy or
plotting to bring down the government. The difference between the Americans and the Chinese is that the Chinese don't pretend to be a
democracy that pays lip service to the notion of being a government "of the people, for the people and by the people".
What people need is accurate, openly available and reliable information about what is going on so that we, as individuals and local
communities, can take the necessary steps to protect each other. That means paying attention to the people who have expert knowledge about
flu epidemics. It means not listening to some ignorant pissant sitting behind their computer peddling the latest piece of crap from the
8chan website, an anti-vaccination website or from a President who thinks the answer to dealing with an epidemic that has killed over 33,000
people worldwide is to hold a prayer meeting and to blame his opponents. It means using science and sense, not stupidity and authoritarianism.

The congress will take place in Santiago de Chile on 22 March 2020 to further the federative process in the region. ---- Given the
historical process that the country is experiencing, and understanding the urgent need that we have to organize ourselves and to be able to
articulate a force with logic and capacity, the Trade Union of various offices calls on all the anarchist sectors of the Chilean region to
organize themselves, to eventually form a national congress with visions of an anarchist federation. Following this guideline, the union
called a congress in the metropolitan region, which would take the form of a general assembly, to be held on January 5, 2020; In parallel to
this call, this instance is replicated in the bio-bio region, specifically in the city of conception. Given the contemporaneity of both
calls, ties are generated immediately.
The call was well received by the comrades, we could say that the first general assembly meant the first step to a network and communication
confluence of anarchic work in the metropolitan region. Comrades from various sectors came, most of the assistants were registered as
individuals, both from Santiago, from regions and even colleagues from other countries; However, the registration of assemblies, groups and
unions was not low either. Being such a heterogeneous space, this first assembly had an introductory and recognition nature, where the
multiplicity and divergences in ideas and forms were immediate, both in how we make decisions, how we organize ourselves, and which ones
could to be our horizons, thinking clearly, in a joint work.
The first agreement that was taken as an assembly, was to decide to generate communication, support and action networks, materializing this
in the creation of commissions and work bodies, and thus begin to generate responses to our needs, both as individuals part of a territory ,
as well as social agitators and militants of spaces or related assemblies, that is, an intersectional work methodology would be applied.
The second assembly had a more practical character, where the various commissions and organs of the assembly would present proposals to be
approved by the general assembly, and thus be able to start working horizontally. Although much remains to be defined, the general assembly
has already begun to be articulated, this translates into the rise of an anarcho-feminist body that is already mobilizing for the days
related to 8M, as well as the historical memory commission that prepares an activity in commemoration of the 100 years of political
persecution that there was in the social movement, especially the anarchists, in Chile in 1920 (judicial process called the "subversives");
An anti-racist and anti-colonial body that will encompass work on immigration and geopolitics; A propaganda commission focused on the
dissemination of our work, as well as on the tension and information of the current historical situation; And the communication commission,
which deals with the internal organizational affairs of the general assembly.
We know that we are in times of work, definition, and articulation, which is why the more forces and sectors we add, the more fruits our
work can yield, we believe that it can be built from differences, as well as having the ability to work from agreements that are taken,
always with a critical and proactive vision to the problems that arise from our individual, territorial, community and social needs.
We invite all the comrades to join the next general assembly to be held on March 22 of this year, each according to their ability to each
according to their need!
Health and anarchism!

COMMON STATEMENT OF APO (Anarchist Political Organization-Federation of Collectives) and DAF (Revolutionary Anarchist Action) ---- AGAINST
WAR, FASCISM AND RACISM ---- SOLIDARITY WITH THE REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS ---- War and fascism are the only "response" the system can give to
its own deep and total crisis, to its own contradictions that result from its basic principle - the oppression and exploitation of one human
being by another. ---- At a global level, the political and economic bosses are attempting an unconditional attack against the people of the
capitalist periphery through war, military operations, subversion of regimes and enforcement of new ones, aiming to control whole areas,
sources of wealth, even whole populations. This is a condition in which millions of people are condemned to poverty, sickness and forced
immigration as a prerequisite for ensuring the over-accumulation of wealth in the hands of global financial elites and for the rearrangement
of geopolitical balance of power in the context of international competitions between global, regional and local powers.
The thousands of refugees and immigrants arriving the last few days in the Greek-Turkish borders with the hope of escaping war and misery,
in search of a better life, are coming against the murderous and racist politics of the EU and the Greek State. Military and police forces
and parastatal groups have blocked their way. They do not hesitate to use even live ammunition to prevent their passage to the interior of
Fortress-Europe.
For the Greek State, adopting the role of the border guard and imposing a modern apartheid in its interior with thousands of refugees and
immigrants being trapped in concentration camps, is another statement of its commitment to the policies of European Union and NATO's war
machine, being an integral part of it, participating actively in the war conflicts by sending military forces, warships and missile systems.
For the state of Turkey that continues the war operations, aiming to the extermination of the Kurdish people, and escalates the military
intervention and occupation of Northern Syria with the support of Islamist groups, the entrapment of millions of refugees and immigrants in
its territory - as a result of the Turkey-EU agreement- and the promotion of thousands of them in the borders of Evros is another tool to
serve its political agenda in the wider region of the Middle East.
Both the states of Greece and Turkey are promoting nationalism, intolerance and the rhetoric of hatred within the context of their
increasing rivalry. Their target is to spread fear within society, to convince the social majority, which is plundered and brutally
exploited by the state and the bosses, that they share common interests with the political and economic ruling elites.
Fascists in Greece are causing the massacre of the immigrants who manage to reach the islands on the Aegean Sea, by preventing them from
stepping off the boats on the shore; with the support of the Greek police they are torturing the immigrants at the border line along the
Evros river and are sending the immigrants who crossed the river back to the Turkish side of the border. In the same manner, fascists in
Turkey are attacking immigrants from Syria who have taken refuge to Turkey, in the neighborhoods, torturing them and threatening to send
them to Europe by destroying their homes and shops.
As anarchists from both sides of the Aegean Sea, we believe that the prospect of war societies, of poverty and impoverishment, the
resurgence of nationalism and social fascistization will have devastating results to humanity. We are convinced that class and
internationalist solidarity between the people, the organized counterattack of the exploited and the overturn of the world of state and
capitalism at a global level can set the terms for the creation of a society of prosperity, equality, peace and justice without
exploitation, wars and disorienting rivalries.

It can be said that the anarchic rebellion rejects a conception of life based on conservatism, fear, narrowness, mere survival, the paths
already traveled, and it does bet on a development of forces and on creating its own path. The will to live cannot be blocked by certain
material or spiritual conditions, it gives rise to that rebellion, to a fight that either causes the transformation or sees one's life
crushed. ---- There are those who said that the first expression of anarchy is this clash of a vital impulse against the structures that
oppose its deployment, against any constituted authority or power contrary to the development that will come after that impulse. The
rebellion can have a sense of despair, which sometimes leads to an explosion of violence (which is never good or solves anything on its own,
in my opinion, although it is necessary to consider the concentration of forces that the political power always carries out and the ills of
social hierarchy), although it should not be denied that some anarchists have considered it in the face of an inadmissible order. This is
the only way to understand Bakunin's phrase "The joy of destroying is a creative joy", but I strongly recommend, for mental health and for
the preservation of intelligence, not to take to the letter what any author could say and yes try to delve into the reasons that led to
affirm such a thing. I do not believe in the transcendence of any concept, not even, or even less, speaking of revolution or anarchy, so
blindly betting on it may be contrary to libertarian rebellion. In the face of overwhelming and totalizing power, the search for a disorder
that makes the desire for freedom arise again, but only as a desperate resource that promotes popular life and enables its development, may
be an option. so blindly betting on it may be contrary to libertarian rebellion. In the face of overwhelming and totalizing power, the
search for a disorder that makes the desire for freedom arise again, but only as a desperate resource that promotes popular life and enables
its development, may be an option. so blindly betting on it may be contrary to libertarian rebellion. Faced with a crushing and totalizing
power, the search for a disorder that makes the desire for freedom arise again, but only as a desperate resource that promotes popular life
and enables its development, may be an option.
It is not necessary to clarify that the anarchic ideal has nothing to do with disorder and chaos, but rather with the aspiration to a new
order in which social equality is a fact and individual freedom constitutes a supreme value that is not confronted with the collective
organization. Political power tends to be more subtle in liberal-democratic regimes, without underestimating other modes of domination that
hinder the development of thought and consciousness, so the reasons for the lack of proliferation of an anarchic rebellion are worthy of
study. (The plaintive victimhood for a society that is not what we would like, the constant complaints that look for external reasons, the
legitimization of means other than anarchism is no longer worth). I think, a belief that pretends not to be blind, that in every human being
there is a legitimate desire for rebellion and a desire for a better life for himself and others, but awakening the mechanisms that awaken
that consciousness does not seem an easy task (honest propaganda is a drop in the ocean before the tidal wave of inconsistent information).
That long-awaited rebellion would be the explosion of a compressed vital energy, a first movement that will affirm certain values.
Albert Camus said that consciousness is born with rebellion, in which the human being realizes that he cannot be objectified, that the
inhuman is not tolerable. Thus, the rebel no longer admits that his possibilities of development, choice or rejection, his own
self-determination, is already diminished or denied. It would already be the beginning of a fight in the name of integrity; a demand for
freedom, which would be the essential tension of his being. Camus considered that this rebellion may be confusing at first, but it ends up
awakening a common feeling in all men, a reason for acting based on the solidarity of the oppressed. That is why the rebellion, awakening
the consciousness of oneself and of others, affirming the rupture with what is instituted in the name of superior human values, it gives
rise to a new community in which the oppressor no longer has a place due to his lack of humanity. This new society can and should be
libertarian (although, obviously, all rebellion does not lead to anarchism), since it would be the only one that does not betray its
original sources and that does not deny the possibility of a better horizon. Anarchism relies on that rebellion that concludes that human
existence is meaningless without freedom, but must continue to contribute to affirming reality (social and individual, mutually nourished)
on the basis of that freedom. It is a whole practical philosophy of life: freedom is not real if it is not sustained by daily behavior and
action. It is the great question to ask people, whether our conscience, the absence or not of rebellion,

March for Solidarity with Refugees, Saturday 14/3 at 1:00 pm, Ag. Venizelos ---- To overthrow modern Apartheid ---- The difference between
democracy and fascism is that the former chooses who he wants to guard, while the second chooses who he wants to shield . ---- In recent
days we have seen the application of state barbarism to the bodies of immigrants in the Aegean islands and the "gray zone" of Evros.
Hundreds of immigrants and migrants arrive at the water and land borders with Turkey, as a result of the political domination sought by
EU-NATO and Turkey in the Southeast Mediterranean region. Thousands of refugees and immigrants trying to cross the border in search of a
better life, away from the war and disasters caused by transnational rivalries in the countries of the capitalist periphery, are confronted
with hordes of MATs and the army, who stop their passage, choke them with chemicals, beat them, strip them and humiliate them.In the past
weeks, the government has sent MATs to Chios and Lesvos to bolster the protection of areas they want to establish closed concentration
camps, which has created clashes that have been able to get them out of the islands. The government's defeat on the islands has evolved into
national unity, with a handful of residents side by side with police denying a better life to people trying to escape the horror of war and
dying, trying to earn some of their lives and dignity. it has deprived the barbarism of power whether it throws bombs or builds hellish. The
nationalist frenzy is raging, as in Lesvos and Chios, despite the actions of some anti-fascists,
We see, therefore, that the fortification of the borders for the Greek state does not cease to govern the management of migratory flows, nor
does it exhaust itself in the mounds of Moria and the closed detention centers. The state finds consensus on its strategy on the "chains" of
conservative islands against immigrants, paramilitary groups that send food and go to Evros to stand by the repressive forces. Where
inequalities and exploitation of the individual itself are exacerbated, the most conservative sections of society choose to tackle capital
and the state.
Anti-immigration policy and the conservatism of society are not starting today. The exemption regime as reflected in the concentration camps
and the doctrine of zero tolerance imposed on those who resist constitute the essence of the state and power. The exodus of refugees from
seizures, the killings in Moria, the legal hardship for asylum seekers, anti-abortion campaigns, the announcement of closed detention camps,
the intolerant nationalist rhetoric spreading through the state and their social body its mechanisms cultivate social exclusion, aiming at a
direction of conservatism and total subjugation of the social whole. The right to life and dignity is annihilated for those who are left
over, for the weak,
We stand against war, Europe - fortress and transnational anti-immigration agreements, against the killings of refugees and immigrants, the
fascist Greek state policy, racism, nationalism and intolerance and advocate for solidarity and solidarity and dignity. The frontiers, the
war, and the business of establishing modern totalitarianism are an integral part of a world long gone bankrupt, a world that has nothing to
offer to the oppressed and exploited. Social solidarity between oppressed foreigners or locals is our weapon against the exploiters. We
organize and fight with immigrants for a society of equality and freedom.
