Don't let Trump pardon Joe Exotic — aka the "Tiger King" — who is a convicted big cat abuser Sign Now Dear friends, Netflix's new series "Tiger King" has brought Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, back into the public awareness. His story is bizarre and includes both human and animal abuse. He is currently serving a 22 year sentence in prison for a slew of crimes, including murder for hire and violating the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Now Trump says he's considering pardoning this horrible man whose disrespect for life includes both human and animal. Joe Exotic operated a zoo in Oklahoma called G.W. Zoo that had tigers, lions, ligers, bears and monkeys. He bred, sold, and toured with these animals, profiting heavily from them while giving them miserable lives. These innocent creatures could never thrive in such unnatural conditions, but Joe took it one step further — active animal abuse. In 2017, he shot 5 tigers, a species protected under the ESA, for no reason. There is video footage of Joe shooting horses for fun. There is an even longer list of horrific stories from witnesses who spent time with Joe. It isn't surprising that Trump is considering pardoning him given that his own sons are trophy hunters themselves. His conviction was a big win for animal rights activists — we can't let Trump undo it with one stroke of his pen. Please sign on to make sure Trump does not pardon this abuser!
