Donald Trump appeared to only realize this after signing the bill into law — and now he's pissed. That's why he's just declared "presidential supervision," to avoid himself being supervised. By declaring presidential supervision, Trump is refusing to grant the new government watchdog autonomy or independence. In keeping with that, he recently told reporters "When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total." But circumnavigating this IG is dangerous in a whole new way.
