The state of emergency in Turkey after the failed coup in July 2016 is in full force. The Erdogan regime is trying to purge its internal
enemies. But apart from his rivals in the ruling camp, he is attacking the social base, the people of Turkey and their organizations.
However, these attacks are not an unprecedented situation for the resistance movement in Turkey. Although Erdogan wants to overcome
Kemalism, he is following his worst traditions of dealing with the left in the country. Part of this attack is the case of the revolutionary
band Grup Yorum and the "People's Advocates". ---- In recent months, three militants have died after a grueling hunger strike. Help Bölek,
singer of Grup Yorum, fell after 288 days of hunger strike. It was followed by fighter Mustafa Koçak after a 297-day hunger strike, with
Grup Yorum bassist rahimbrahim Gökçek being the last to die in 323 days. All of them were imprisoned on false charges and tortured several
times, while the Turkish state tried to force them to eat, a practice that is also considered torture under international conventions. But
none of them bowed. Until the last moment, they remained unwaveringly committed to the cause of the liberation of the working class and the
people of Turkey, not hesitating for a moment to give their lives for this purpose. The Turkish state's stance against them is so great that
it attacked police and paramilitary bastards at their comrades' funerals, and went so far as to seize the body of rahimbrahim Gökçek, so as
not to turn his funeral into a demonstration against the regime. Now all three are symbols of resistance that with their sacrifice inspire
the struggling peoples all over the world.

The hunger strike continues until death. Lawyers Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal, as well as political prisoners Didem Akman and Özgür Karakaya,
are now over 100 days old. Their requests are as follows:

-To accept the requests of Grup Yorum immediately.

- Let the lawyers of the People be released.

- To remove the regime of injustice in political persecution.

-To annul all unjust sentences given as a result of retaliatory trials and remove obstacles to the right to a fair trial, such as covert
witnesses.

We wholeheartedly stand in solidarity with the difficult struggle of our comrades in Turkey. Internationalist solidarity is stepping up
their struggle and could be a stumbling block to Erdogan's plans for the complete annihilation of the movements in Turkey. Our struggle
knows no borders. It is common. When one of us is hit, wherever he is, we are all hit.

This pamphlet goes to the roots of the current pandemic, locating the causes in capitalism, including land use, the way we organise food
production, and what we eat. It starts by looking at zoonotic diseases - those that have moved from animals to humans - and discusses how
capitalism created the environments for lethal human-animal interactions. It moves on to discuss industrial agriculture, its use of
antibiotics, pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, and its impact on health. The pamphlet then continues with a look at food consumption and
the role of capitalism in facilitating not just zoonotic diseases but also non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
Unhealthy diets are discussed in the context of food insecurity, domination by global food corporations and class inequality. The pamphlet
takes a critical look at meat eating in creating a range of health and environmental issues.

Price: £3.50, including postage, for this 44 page pamphlet.

By the Front Syndicalistes Révolutionnaires of UCL Brussels ---- The latest press release from  La santé en Lutte  illustrates the
importance of the balance of power created by the autonomous mobilization of caregivers which forces the government, with the benevolent
contribution of the unions, to reactivate the so-called social concertation to obtain social peace. ---- As this press release very well
concludes, it is essential to remain mobilized in the struggle because only the pressure of workers will force the state to capitulate in
the face of their demands: " Mobilization is the ultimate weapon to obtain victories! Greater achievements are within our reach! We
therefore call on all colleagues in the sector to continue the actions and take advantage of strike notices to maintain the balance of
power. Otherwise, negotiations are unlikely to lead to real progress. "

The events of the past few weeks at STIB and in the public health sector have been instructive on the role of trade unions.

The wildcat strike at STIB illustrated the lack of democracy and fighting spirit of the big unions and their disconnection from the reality
of workers. The attitude of union leaders who do not support grassroots demands by hiding behind an agreement with management - signed
without even consulting the workers - perfectly illustrates their role as employers' partners in place of that of defender of workers' claims.

In the public health sector, strike notice deposits immediately followed by the opening of union negotiations following the government's
"outstretched hand" should not fool us about the role played by unions.

Indeed, following the unraveling and breakage of the public health sector set up by the state in recent years, the caregivers, angry,
organized and mobilized in order to create a balance of power with the aim to impose their claims (
https://lasanteenlutte.org/nos-revendications/ ). This movement was strengthened by the support of public opinion, who could only note
during the Covid-19 crisis the catastrophic consequences of this policy of underfunding of the health sector. Under pressure, the government
therefore decided to play the dialogue card by reactivating union consultation with the clear aim of regaining public opinion and obtaining
social peace.

While the balance of power is leaning in favor of workers, the unions have immediately responded positively to this "outstretched hand".
Thus, by making the choice to open negotiations so quickly and suspend the strike notice, they consciously and voluntarily choose to calm
the revolt and the dynamics of the workers. instead of strengthening and hardening the balance of power in their favor - a balance of power
yet necessary in order to impose all of their claims.

Obviously, they play the role of partner of the government and the employers. They settle in a non-combative position of intermediary in the
service of the state instead of defending the interests of the nursing staff. Their own statements perfectly illustrate this role:

" It is unfortunate that we had to arrive at filing notices to be heard and to start a consultation. But the message got through and now
let's turn the page. Let's say chick, we're going to get a revaluation . If we realize that there is no budget and that we are pulled from
the ends of the strings, we will resume our freedom " Yves Hellendorff. (non-market national secretary of the CNE) .

As revolutionary unionists, we condemn this bureaucratic unionism and affirm the need to get out of this form of institutionalized unionism,
cut off from its base and, in fact, at the service of employers.

The spontaneous strike without the support of the unions at STIB and the balance of power created by the mobilization and the autonomous
organization of the nursing staff (forcing the government to retreat), prove that the workers do not need to unions playing the role of
intermediary but combat unions that emanate directly from the base, organized horizontally and rejecting professionalization and union
bureaucracy.

Let's build struggle and self-management unionism!

Despite the fact that on the eve of the French authorities in most major cities banned the holding of any demonstrations of "yellow vests",
the activists still took to the streets, staging small protests and challenging totalitarian bans under the pretext of "quarantine". ---- In
Paris, 10 people took to Republic Square, where they were immediately surrounded by 50 CRS police special forces armed with firearms
(https://www.facebook.com/giletsjaunesinfos/videos/293576868329808/) ---- In Montpellier, dozens of "yellow vests" came, as usual on
Saturdays, to Comedy Square. Having passed between the prefecture and the square, they chanted slogans. The police checked the documents of
several demonstrators, but the case went without arrest
(https://www.midilibre.fr/2020/05/23/montpellier-les-gilets-jaunes-mobilises,8900110.php)

In Lyon, a small group of protesters gathered in Place Bellecour under the supervision of 20 CRS cars. One of the demonstrators, dressed in
a yellow vest, was symbolically surrounded by ribbons
(https://www.leprogres.fr/france-monde/2020/05/23/image-un-gilet-jaune-se-confine-place-bellecour-a-lyon-photo-du-jour)

In Besancon, about a hundred protesters held a standing protest rally on Revolution Square, in the rain. "We want salaries, not poverty,"
they chanted, along with other slogans. The demonstrators kept a fixed distance, but were still determined. "Not a single virus will silence
us," said Frederic Vijom, whose mask was made of a yellow vest. "We keep our distance from each other, but we want to say once again that
the struggle continues and that it is not workers, pensioners or unemployed who should pay for the coronavirus. They never talk about
financiers. This is an unacceptable situation. We are demonstrating here today because it's a breath of fresh air for us. Fundamental right
... "

Andre, who came to the rally from Dole, explains: "We must remain motivated and decisive, but it is clear that people who showed a few weeks
ago are now afraid of police repression. Many of us have been detained in police custody and are still being persecuted according to the
law. But no matter what happens, we will always be there. We are peaceful, and we just want to freely express our opinion. Today we demand a
decent salary for everyone, as well as equipment and investments in hospitals. "

With a few whistles we met a police car, which was driving at low speed on Revolution Square. Demonstrators continued to chant slogans:
"Today they demand money from workers to help healthcare workers," continues Frederic Vijom. "But we cannot allow this. We must take the tax
from those who have money. And in France there is a lot of it." Wanting to continue their demonstrations, no matter what happened, the
yellow vests in Besançon announced their intention to meet again next week, masked and at a distance from each other
(https://france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr/bourgogne-franche-comte/doubs/besancon/gilets-jaunes-rassemblement-besancon-respectant-mesures-distanciation-sociale-1832608.html)

In Lille, dozens of people staged a demonstration in the city center between Republic Square, Euroville and Grand Place. They didn't go as
much as they did stand-up actions, as, for example, in front of Euro-Lille. Wearing masks and vests, the demonstrators stood at the entrance
a meter away from each other, campaigning for visitors who had come to shop. They called for help from carers and demanded free masks for
everyone. There were also slogans against capitalism and Macron, for the restoration of the tax on large incomes. "We cannot rely on the
government!" - one of the demonstrators shouted to the crowd. Thus, the demonstration passed from one point to another, under the
supervision of the police (https://www.lavoixdunord.fr/756418/article/2020-05-23/lille-le-retour-des-gilets-jaunes-et-autres-manifestants)

In Fleury-les-Obres (Loiret department), the "yellow vests" came to the Tardival massacre. They criticized the hygiene conditions at the
plant and also reiterated their intentions to secure the resignation of President Macron. Quarantine removal measures, protesters said, are
being implemented in a way that benefits large capital. Yellow vests expose the "free-killing" policies of recent months. "Macron's policy
is to count the dead and write fines," one protester said.

"Have you put on your muzzle?" - jokingly asks one of the protesters of the other. "We are rabid dogs, we bite, so we are muzzled." - "We
are always here to tell Macron that we will not allow him to do this," the other summarizes.

"The government announced bonuses for health workers. Under pressure, it extended it to nursing home workers. But what has been done for
home care workers who have been at risk for 2 months daily? For garbage collectors, cashiers?"

Then the protesters marched into the roundabout in front of the Leclerc shopping center
(https://www.larep.fr/fleury-les-aubrais-45400/actualites/les-gilets-jaunes-loiretains-sont-de-retour-devant-l-abattoir-tradival_13791319/#refresh)

In Laval, a small group of protesters gathered under the supervision of two police cars. "We are no longer yellow vests," one of them
declared. "We are angry citizens"

In Toulouse, because of the ban, the "yellow vests" did not call for a manifestation. The authorities announced that no shares in the city
are allowed until July 10!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXt5TcpPoIQ ---- What we experienced on the 18th of May during the wildcat strike of the harvest workers in
Bornheim near Bonn is difficult to put into words. Also this video can only give a small impression of the outstanding character of this
struggle. On the other the inhumane treatment of the workers by the bosses. On the other hand the incredible anger of the workers over these
conditions. The exhaustion after days of struggle, the endless hours under the blazing sun, the tumultuous events, the constantly changing
situation and then the class traitor cops who fulfill their function and through that are on the side of the bosses. This time there is no
analysis, no evaluation, no further considerations and no big words from us - only recognition for the fighting workers and for the comrades
of the FAU for what they achieve in this fight. As well as the hope that the small counter-power from below that is opening up here will
help the demands of the workers to break through, that through this struggle there will be a real material effect for all in the end. The
gained experiences of solidarity and self-empowerment cannot be taken away anyway... UP WITH THOSE WHO FIGHT!

Next Wednesday, May 27, from 6:00 p.m. , we will have the opportunity to chat with Carlos Taibo. The meeting will be broadcast live on CNT's
YouTube channel, under the title The Collapse Next . ---- The coronavirus crisis , and the repressive and social pandemics that accompany
it, have put the discussion about a general collapse of the system that we are suffering at the center of many debates . It makes sense to
reflect on what that collapse means and seek clues that allow us to relate what is happening at this time with a general crisis of
capitalism and its rules. ---- That is why this digital meeting, as a chat and interview, will allow us to know a reflective and critical
point of view on the current scenario we are going through. ---- In the meantime, we encourage you to view this other interview with British
filmmaker Ken Loach ,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-uucoajais who reviewed some key questions about his film Land and Freedom .

Carlos Taibo has been until 2018 Pro

At the end of the third week of May 2020, a series of protests directed against the current government of the capital began in Calle Nuñez
de Balboa, in the Goya neighborhood of the Salamanca district (one of the highest-income districts of the capital). PSOE and Podemos. Over
the days, attempts have been made to spread these protests to other districts of Madrid and other cities in the state without a clear
objective, beyond demonstrating "until the confinement lasts." ---- These demonstrations, far from his speech that they are of "apolitical
citizens pissed off" by the restrictive policies of the government that try to make us believe, have a deep class background. They take to
the streets to defend their class privileges and power, encouraged by the political parties that represent their interests. These
mobilizations are frequented mostly by businessmen and people who live from the exploitation of private properties, which amounts to
parasites that live on the work and money of others. You will never see them in any mobilization that has to do with a social or labor
demand. Many are part of various economic lobbies, so the government legislates in their favor, and they benefit from anti-worker policies
promoted by political and economic powers.

The government grants them carte blanche to do what they want, so the Government Delegation does not act accordingly against this type of
mobilization. They hardly stop people, they do not ask for cards, they do not impose sanctions or demand that the security distance be kept
due to the state of alarm. They know that they have impunity to do what they want, since any type of economic sanction will not have any
impact on their income, and they act accordingly.

In addition, one of the most important things they have is with the support of the media, which cover them and whitewash their
mobilizations, always with praise for their "peaceful and democratic" status. Meanwhile, the workers of the neighborhood have no choice but
to keep quiet about their arbitrariness.

A very different situation is experienced in the working-class neighborhoods, those with the lowest income in the city of Madrid and those
most affected by the pandemic of the COVID-19 virus and the health crisis due to the years of constant privatization and dismantling of the
health. It is only necessary to see how the emergency centers and many primary and specialty care centers have remained closed, forcing
hospitals to saturate.

Before the pandemic, there was already a large number of unemployed and at risk of social exclusion in the poorest neighborhoods of the
capital. The last EPA of 2019 gave a percentage of unemployed of 10% of the population, which hides the high rate of precarious workers, the
destruction of employment and those people who work mostly in black without hardly contributing to Social Security. Now hundreds of families
are affected by temporary employment regulation (ERTE) records. The State socializes the losses of the employers and pays only 70% of the
salary that the company should pay during the first six months and, of course, late and badly, suffocating hundreds of families. Many others
will be affected by employment regulation records (ERE), losing their job.

The Social Services of the city of Madrid, far from being able to provide a quality service, already saturated until the arrival of the
pandemic, cannot cope with the lack of public investment, and the constant outsourcing and privatizations that have suffered, as well as the
health and other basic services.

The police action has been totally contrary to that developed in the Salamanca district. A multitude of situations of abuse of authority
have been published on social networks and alternative media that have silenced the official media. We have had to witness special racist
harassment against migrant workers. Sanctions in low-income neighborhoods have been much higher than in any high-income district of the capital.
The attitude of the media, unlike the treatment given to the "peaceful democrats" of the Salamanca District, has been one of constant
criminalization and demonization against the population of the humble neighborhoods, especially against Vallekas, Carabanchel, Villaverde or
Centro.

In social networks and the media, they bombard us with messages for and against the government, strengthening the hegemonic discourse that
favors representative institutions, political powers and ultimately an economic power that will benefit from the next cuts. of labor and
social rights.

This dominant discourse silences and hides the multitude of self-organization and mutual support initiatives being carried out by neighbors
and various independent groups in the districts most criminalized by the media and most punished by the pandemic. These initiatives try to
support the people most affected by the crisis and create a social fabric. Furthermore, they are filling the gaps that in theory should be
addressed by State institutions and the Madrid City Council through Social Services. The creation and development of these networks are the
ones that have stood out, for achieving improvements for the population in the periods in which the crises of the capitalist economic system
have led to a greater offensive against workers' rights.

It is clear that the workers can expect absolutely nothing from the institutions or from those who hold political and economic power. The
"revolt" of the "Cayetans" is an example of how the class struggle is sharpening and of a new offensive against workers' rights.
Solidarity is something intrinsic to the nature of the human being and its implementation is increasingly necessary. The collective and
organized against privatization and individualism. The practice of self-organization and mutual support will make us break with the
prevailing hegemonic discourse, and the capitalist economic system that suffocates and drowns us.
