A group of hooded, black-clad anarchists attacked the United States Embassy in Mexico City with stones and sticks this Friday (06/05) as
part of a protest to demand justice for the case of young Giovanni López, who he lost his life under the "protection" of the police in
Jalisco, as well as the execution of George Floyd in Minneapolis, USA.
In response, from inside the US Embassy, located on Paseo de la Reforma, security personnel released tear gas to disperse the protesters.
On Río Tiber street, protesters attacked capitalist targets, smashing shop windows and banks.

The dramatic events in Bristol yesterday, 7 June, attest to the strength of feeling and organizational prowess of bottom-up movements across
the UK and indeed the world. The statue of Edward Colston, who traded in thousands of African lives in order to bolster his own profits and
those of the city of Bristol, has been cast into the river in a display of indignation that we hope endures in the city. The Home Secretary,
Priti Patel, has called the act of uprooting the ignominious statue and its destruction as "utterly disgraceful" but we think the legacy of
slavery, racial discrimination and constant police harassment of black communities rather more so.
Historians have alluded to our current times as going down in the history books as "Before Coronavirus" and "After Coronovirus" and so much
is probably true. But we also hope that a similar line is once and for all drawn under racism in all its forms and that we can now embrace a
period of "before" and "after" in like terms with an era that can be characterised as "post-racist" swiftly moving up to take the stage.
However, as the ingrained prejudice against People of Colour and BAME people is so deep, we know that this will be a constant battle as the
last weeds of racial discrimination are uprooted.
The coronavirus pandemic has affected BAME people in disproportionate ways as a result of poverty, greater percentages of BAME people
working in frontline jobs in the NHS, transport and the food industry, and we continue to demand better testing, tracing and PPE for all
workers in vulnerable positions. The present demonstrations show that vast swaths of people in Britain and the world refuse to accept the
racist cant that some should have greater access to wealth and health than others. The divisions that the so-called far right wishes to
foster in our society have no place - their vile rhetoric never made sense in the past and the huge demonstrations uniting people of all
cultures and colours have shown that it has no place in the future.
We refuse to go back to the "normal" of pre-virus times. We refuse to accept discrimination on the grounds of race or anything else. We
praise people's self organization. We urge all to join the struggle for a society based on justice, equality and co-operation.

With the motto "Support the Black Lives Matter protests in your locality", the International Labor Confederation (ICL-CIT) showed its
solidarity with the protests that are taking place in the United States over the murder of young George Floyd in Minneapolis because of the
violence racist police officer. The CNT supported the manifesto, which we reproduce below: ---- At this moment there are a number of
unprecedented protests linked to the Black Lives Matter movement (against police brutality and racist murders in the United States). The
protests spread across the country. Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) was founded in 1905 on a program of equality and racial justice.
Today, the Union of Autonomous Journalists continues to support the working class in its courageous struggle to achieve this justice. Our
motto remains: an affront against one, is an affront against all.
If you are interested in participating in calls and activities in your locality, supporting community advocacy initiatives, such as
solidarity funds to pay bail bonds, etc., we encourage you to contact your local IWW section to get more information than you need. can do
in your region. There is a directory of local IWW sections in the United States atiww.org/directory .
If you are a freelance journalist and it is the first time that you have contacted your local IWW section, it may be necessary to confirm
your situation regarding the union, for security reasons in the current situation. If so, you can go to the freelancejournalists@iww.org
section.
We also have evidence that on multiple occasions the police have attacked, detained, or prevented in other ways, journalists who were
reporting from the facts about these historical events. If you need the support of the union, whether in the legal, professional or even
emotional field, do not hesitate to contact us atfreelancejournalists@iww.org .
As the preamble to the IWW constitution says, "we are building a new world on the dead skin of the old".
