Hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children across 60 countries are chained, simply for having a mental health condition.

This happens because of stigma, fear and government failure. Paul, who was chained for five years, told us, "The chain is so heavy. I stay in a small room with 7 men. I’m not allowed to wear clothes, only underwear. It’s not how a human being is supposed to be. A human being should be free.”

Together, we can help end this inhumane practice. We will push governments, institutions, and faith leaders to end chaining of people with mental health conditions.

Sign the #BreakTheChains pledge today, and join a global movement that believes all people should live in dignity.
