We won't let Trump cheat his way into winning or scare us out of voting. Write Your Petition Dear friends, WE HAVE POWER. That's why Trump is so scared. And that's why his friends — the far-right Republican contingent — are amping up voter suppression efforts throughout the country, whether it's with huge flag-waving rallies outside polling locations, spreading hysteria and misinformation, or desperately pleading with courts to throw out voters' ballots. While it's scary to know that anti-democracy fanatics would go to these lengths to keep our voices from being heard, it also should be seen as a sign that we're doing something right. We're voting — and they know that when we vote, we win. In the upcoming weeks, it's likely they will try to push our country into a contested election. In other words, they're going to keep fighting and cheating, claiming that the only "legitimate" outcome is a Trump victory. But even while they're contesting a democratic election, we still have power. That's why we're asking YOU to start your own petition on Care2 to help uphold democracy! It can be as simple as petitioning your local board of elections to count every vote or asking state legislators not to certify the results until all votes are counted and until all instances of suppression, intimidation, or fraud are investigated and remedied. And that's not all. We've also included a handy graphic above with numbers for the Election Protection Hotline. Use them! If you see something that looks or smells like voter intimidation — that is, harassment or threatening activities designed to suppress voter turnout — then PLEASE call these numbers. You've heard over and over again that this election will be one of the most important in our lifetimes. And it's true. You and I are stronger because we're standing together, and we won't let Trump cheat his way into elected office. Remember: by starting your own petition, you can put pressure on your state and local officials to make sure the election isn't over until all votes are counted!
