Children dragged the young donkey through jagged gravel, LAUGHING AS THEY TORTURED HER!

Please donate now

Dear friends,

It's an EMERGENCY! Please, help us rush vital aid to a battered donkey foal in Israel.

This is so sad, it breaks our hearts…
…but we desperately need your help, so we must tell you about it.
Please donate now

It was in the desert, south of Beersheba, where Israeli soldiers heard the blood-curdling cries of a creature in terrible pain. They rushed to find out what was happening and found a sickening sight

Five Bedouin children had bound a baby donkey with rope and dragged her through jagged gravel, causing horrific wounds. The helpless baby was only a few weeks old. When the soldiers arrived, the children were laughing at the donkey’s agonizing cries.

Can you believe they actually thought it was funny?

The assault caused terrible wounds on the donkey’s neck and body. Too weak from hunger to move, all she could do was cry out in anguish.

Dear friends, can you imagine the awful fear and pain this helpless baby was going through?
Please donate now

Thanks to the soldiers who saved her, this tiny foal's life was spared. They named her Natalie and called our partner, the Starting Over Sanctuary, which sent immediate help.

Natalie suffered from multiple injuries, extreme malnutrition and dehydration. She was so weak when she was rescued that she could not even stand. Judging from her wounds, her torturers had tormented her for a prolonged period.

Dear friends, with our help, Natalie is getting the best possible care, and she is now on the road to recovery. She is so sweet and clever that when she wants help, she brays to attract the attention of our team who treat her. But now there’s another problem. Starting Over has seen an upsurge in cruelty to donkeys and have now got over 100 donkeys to care for … 109 to be exact, which is placing a terrible strain on the small band of dedicated volunteers at the sanctuary. They are in urgent need of more medicine and food.

Dear friends, Natalie is getting better, but she and all the others still need expensive medication and, crucially, they need food. Each donkey eats more than six pounds (2.7 kilos) every day. That works out to more than 700 pounds (317 kilos). Our priority is the continued recovery of Natalie. Please help her and all the others by making an EMERGENCY DONATION TODAY - it is literally lifesaving.

We are deeply concerned about the unspeakable cruelty donkeys suffer in the area. THIS MUST STOP. We, are IMMEDIATELY increasing our efforts and aid to try end the abuse. But working in this part of the world is challenging. COVID-19 seriously restricts our ability to move around. Rest assured we will not give up.

Dear friends, your donations do make a difference, and we value your support. We know that you love animals and will always do everything in our power to help them. But we need your help. We are committed to saving Natalie's life and to stopping the rampant cruelty towards donkeys that is taking place in the Israeli desert. Your donation will go a long way to making this happen.

To the soldiers’ eternal credit, they tried to catch the children who did this to an innocent baby animal, while possibly placing their own lives in danger. We salute them, even though they were unable to apprehend the kids. What happened to Natalie is a crime, and an investigation is underway to try to track down the children's familiesYour donation will help Natalie and other donkeys in harm’s way.
