The May Day meeting of anarchists in Prague on Strelecký Island is approaching.
---- leaflet ---- As we have informed , will be the first of May from 11.00 to
give the traditional with etkání anarchistek and anarchists , and the equally
traditional place - in Prague right on an island. It was here in 1890 that the
first workers' assembly was held in Prague on the occasion of Labor Day, which
was declared on the basis of events connected with the struggle for eight-hour
working hours in 1886 and the judicial murder of several anarchists in Chicago a
year later. ---- The meeting is planned in a picnic style. Refreshments will be
available on site, which will be provided by the Food not Bombs Žižkov team, and
the distribution of anarchist publications produced by AF Publishing House
(including a fresh issue of Existence magazine dedicated to Petr Kropotkin) and
the historical association Zádruha .

However, the question is how the bouquet will be placed at the memorial plaque of
the first May Day workers' manifestation. Lubomír Volný took his place in front
of her for his political agitation. Even though they are constantly trying to
draw attention to themselves, many will probably not know who it is. Volný works
in Ostrava, where he is known as a "poverty trader" for renting overpriced
dilapidated flats, otherwise he is a defector from Okamura's SPD (he did not give
up his parliamentary mandate) and a staunch "anti-sculptor". His agenda is not
significantly different from other nationalists - Islam, the EU, the Roma,
migrants, upside racism, blah blah blah - all wrong. On the other hand, Putin's
Russia is OK, his nuclear weapons would solve enough, Lukashenko is the
legitimate representative of Belarus, blah blah blah. The original was a bit of a
nonsense, that studying abroad is a golden cage and a source of false ideas about
the world. But most recently, he has emerged as a representative of all sorts of
deniers in connection with the covid-19 pandemic.

These deniers, as we call them, do not present any homogeneous attitudes. Some go
so far as to deny the existence of covid-19 and usually see a conspiracy behind
it. Others downplay it, reject anti-antidote measures and refuse to wear veils.
They often call them muzzles to silence us. Others question the meaning of
vaccination. Sure, there would be a lot of other bizarre attitudes, but we don't
want to deal with that.

It is nice for someone to criticize the government and take to the streets with
their criticism. But the sympathies go away with the deniers. The consequences of
their demands and the desire for defiant behavior do not differ in their
antisociality from the decision-making of the government. Neither the government
nor the deniers want to defeat the epidemic as soon as possible. If it were the
government, it would stop industry as well as leisure activities. A few weeks was
enough and it could be over. If it was a matter for the deniers, they would first
have to take their heads out of their butts and become considerate and
responsible to their surroundings.

Both the government and the deniers are a reflection of the values that
neoliberal ideology tore into us for 30 years, the herald of which was especially
Klaus the Elder. She proclaimed that the stronger winners, we compete with each
other, and so we should each look primarily at our own personal interests. It is
no wonder that the weakest pay for the pandemic, while large capital can continue
to produce its profits. And no wonder we see unprotected demonstrators wanting to
drink in public and sitting in a pub.

Irresponsibility and egoism are not an alternative to chaotic and unconceptual
government decisions. Threatening others by rejecting veils or vaccinations is
not a rebellion, but a sign of limitation and ruthlessness and, last but not
least, disrespect for the medical staff who are at the forefront of the pandemic.
And there is always a political entrepreneur who rides such a wave and will feed it.

The alternative, on the other hand, is a responsible approach, solidarity and
mutual assistance. And also the rejection of individuals who build their
political careers and business on the backs of others, as well as the rejection
of alliances of state and capital in order to profit a few at the expense of the
rest of society. We also don't like veils anymore. We also want to go to the pub.
We also want to meet friends and travel indefinitely. But we know that we cannot
do this at the expense of the health and lives of others.

Let us not allow the world of work to receive another blow ---- Not in the
anti-labor bill Hatzidaki - Vroutsi ---- One year after the onset of the COVID-19
pandemic, the systemic crisis is intensifying, while at the same time
authoritarianism and aggressive policies are being sought to be imposed in all
areas of political, economic and social life. The government, the state and the
employers instrumentalize the management of the pandemic by intensifying our
harsh living conditions, endangering, sacrificing human life, health, the
freedoms of the people, which gives with a sense of responsibility a hard
struggle for survival. Because what else does the provocative political choice of
the government that refuses to take protection measures against a society that
has daily deaths from coronavirus and provocatively insists on destroying the
public health system, not to harm, but to strengthen the interests of the great
clinicians, show? ,

To ostentatiously and criminally ignore the origin of the main outbreaks of
coronavirus, such as mass workplaces and public transport, without taking any
substantial decongestion measures, without testing under the responsibility of
the state and the competent health authorities, except an unprecedented five
months (!) lockdown.

The government, however, in the midst of a generalized health and economic
crisis, declares its readiness through the current Minister K. Hatzidakis to
submit a new anti-labor-anti-union bill, prepared by the former Minister of
Labor, with the aim of sweeping basic labor costs. .

Even before the onset of the health crisis, the abolition of collective
bargaining agreements and the basic principles of collective bargaining, the
freezing of the minimum wage increase, the downgrading and weakening of the
institutions for the labor issues of SEPE and OMED have preceded. Since then,
thousands of workplaces and industries have been involved, including the book
industry and the wider trade sector, intensification, extortionate suspensions
and the fear of the next day, the implementation of the rotating work system, the
teleworking regime, while strengthening their legal arsenal for the release of
the Sunday operation of commercial stores,

All of the above, which they introduced in the midst of quarantine as
precautionary measures, not only consolidate them, but add others to the bill
that they have long wanted to submit. These are, among other things, the
following important issues concerning basic labor rights:

Abolition of the 8-hour period, with the employer now having the right to employ
the employee for up to 10 hours a day, without additional pay, but with a
corresponding reduction of working time to another day or break or additional
leave within the same semester. In this context, it is obvious that they seek to
force employees into individual employment contracts. This extortionate condition
is characterized as a settlement of working hours, when in fact the employees
become slaves to the appetites of the bosses.

· Companies will be able to join the category of those who do not have a Sunday
holiday with a simple process. In fact, they are intensifying the process of its
complete abolition at every opportunity.

· It is directed against the trade union freedoms of the workers, the trade union
action is criminalized, the strike and the strike mobilizations and guards become
not only "illegal and abusive", as has happened in recent years, but criminally
heinous acts.

· Trade unionism is transformed into a digital battle of mechanisms where the
real processes of the assembly are canceled with live peer discussion,
fermentation and exchange of ideas (political and trade union), while electronic
voting is promoted, especially on important decision-making issues such as strike.

· In the matter of dismissals, the employer's right is instituted, in case of
warning, to prohibit the employee from coming to his workplace, thus making it
difficult to defend the injustice done to him.

In essence, this is a constant class attack on the world of work, its labor and
political rights, on the most vulnerable social classes. The government, with its
anti-labor policy, has one goal to accomplish: to transform the landscape for the
next day in favor of capital and private interests, to pursue its anti-social
policy and to remove what is left of the core of labor rights.

For our part, we are called as part of the world of struggle once again in the
most difficult conditions not to allow the devaluation of our work and life and
to defend our labor interests and rights, our needs, our life and our dignity.

We are well aware that the producers of social wealth are the workers, the people
who are increasingly in a precarious work environment, the ones below. In order
to return the wealth produced to society, we need to fight against exploitation
and those who reap our rewards and profit at our expense. Especially today in the
suffocating landscape that is formed on the occasion of the health crisis and the
fact that the rulers leave us exposed and unprotected, we need to fight but also
to protect those around us and ourselves, since only the people can save the people.

We join forces with all the unions that are fighting in a class struggle
direction and we connect our resistance in the workplace against the integration,
fatalism, submission and inaction promoted by the employers' unionism of GSEE.
Against assignment and mediation, the world of work can rely on its own strengths
and organize its struggles from below and effectively.

The anti-union anti-union law Hatzidaki - Vroutsi should not be submitted to the
Parliament. Hands off the unions, the right to strike, collective action.

To take back all the anti-labor arrangements under the pretext of the pandemic
(shift work, suspensions, regulation of working hours, release of the Sunday
operation of commercial stores, gnawing of days of normal leave with special
purpose permits, teleworking, etc.).

Salary / wage increases and Collective Bargaining Agreements according to our
needs. Against undeclared work and non-payment of accrued expenses

Not in elasticity and fixed-term contracts. Prohibition of redundancies.

Against job insecurity, for permanent and stable work in public and private sector

Radical reduction of working time without reduction of salary. Against the
perpetuation of teleworking and distance learning

Prohibit redundancies. Measures to protect the unemployed.

Order of the private health sector now, with immediate priority the ICU beds,
without compensation of the clinicians.

That's it! Let us not mourn other victims. Universal, direct and equal access to
health care.

WE INVITE TO AN INTERNET MEETING ON SUNDAY APRIL 18 AT 7 PM.

The outbreak and spread of the covid-19 pandemic worldwide has highlighted in the
most obvious way the criminal nature of the state and the capitalist system.
While more than ten thousand people have lost their lives in the pandemic across
the country, attempts are being made to use it as a tool of anti-social
enforcement of neoliberal management to implement faster and harder conditions
the overall restructuring that is looting the vast majority of society. securing
and expanding the privileges of economic and political elites. From the complete
dissolution of public health, the degradation of public education, the passage of
the new anti-labor bill to the murder of workers in the scams of wage slavery,
the further plunder of the natural world,

135 years after the Chicago workers' uprising, the project of linking partial and
demanding struggles, such as the eight-hour one, with the overall struggle for an
emancipated society, the overthrow of the world of power and the liberal social
transformation based on principles of communal ownership, equality, freedom,
solidarity, always remain relevant.

Governmentalists propagate that there is no other way but to become a slave to
the state; That is, they either blame the government for order or say in a
liberal guise that an evil government is necessary, but if the people know that
this is not the case and the collective power of 82 million people to manage and
lead society is greater than any government in the hands of a minority, then They
do not feel the need for any kind of government, right or left, and they do not
give in to opportunists and ambitious statesmen. ---- The very existence of the
government is the cause of the problem! ---- First, those who run the various
branches of government (ie, politicians, government employees, judges, law
enforcement officers, etc.) together form the ruling class, which seeks its own
interests and exploits the rest of society, especially the working class.

Second, insofar as the government strives (read if it strives) to serve the
public and social interests, the means at its disposal - rules and guidelines
issued from the center and enforced - are not sufficient and effective to achieve
such a goal. According to anarchists, societies are extremely complex beings and
their organization must be turned upside down and the various needs of
individuals and regions must be fully considered.

Third, in revolutions, those who steal the revolution and ride on the revolution
need capital to implement their goals, and capital is in the hands of the
so-called class, so naturally every government is subject to the demands of the
capitalists for its survival and to legislate to ensure The interests of this
class are being served (debt between capital and power), which is naturally one
of the concerns of the capitalists to protect their interests, which was created
by the police to address this concern.

History has shown us that the government, due to the concentration of power and
monopoly, the lack of information of the people about various conditions
affecting their economic situation (monopoly), lack of government oversight, loss
of competition, improper growth of power bases, and finally the transformation of
the economy into a rent system. It was not a good alternative.

Anarchist society is the most democratic and popular form possible; Because
community self-management involves the active social participation of all
residents of a geographical area. After the elimination of the hierarchical whip,
voluntary public participation in various forms will depend on the interests and
commonalities. Therefore, the people of each region can feel a collective
responsibility for their future and destiny, animals and the environment. Poverty
alleviation and ending deprivation in deprived areas will undoubtedly be a
collective priority, and those who do not have the basic necessities of life will
be significantly improved by the collective efforts of all the people of the
geography in question.

Specifically, poor provinces such as Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman and South
Khorasan and other deprived areas with a high unemployment rate will be given
collective priority and special attention and urgency, and poverty and
reconstruction will be quickly and the basic necessities of life. It will be
provided by all the people living in Iran and all the provinces will enjoy the
collective facilities of Iran and will have the same level of welfare.
Undoubtedly, collective happiness and well-being is the guarantor of individual
happiness and well-being.

According to statistics and information dated 11/15/2017: "The poorest areas of
the country (areas with the highest poverty rate) are rural areas of Mehrestan
(Zaboli), Chabahar, Konarak, Zahedan and Nikshahr of Sistan and Baluchestan province.

The rural areas of these cities have a poverty census rate of more than 4%. The
next ranks belong to the rural areas of Khash and Sarbaz cities of Sistan and
Baluchestan province, urban areas of Indika city of Khuzestan province, rural
areas of Delgan city and rural and urban areas of Helmand city and then urban
areas of Sarbaz and Mehrestan cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province. Is.

The poverty census rate for Mehrestan city in Sistan and Baluchestan province is
estimated at 4.90 percent.

In general, Sistan and Baluchestan province has the most cities with the highest
poverty rate. After that, urban and rural areas of Kerman and South Khorasan
provinces have high poverty census rates.

On the other hand, the largest number of poor households are present in urban
areas of densely populated cities. Urban areas of Tehran with nearly one hundred
and seventy thousand poor households, 7.5 percent of the total poor households in
the country. The next ranks belong to the urban areas of Mashhad city (one
hundred and twenty thousand poor families) and Tabriz city (seventy nine thousand
poor families).

All households in urban and rural areas of cities with a poverty rate of more
than 50% (rural areas ?? city and urban areas ?? county) that number of these
households is about 426 thousand households (about 2.5% of the total households
in the country, which now after More than 3 years have definitely increased)

Focus on the poor

The cities of Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Zahedan, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Qom, Baharestan,
Shiraz and Kerman have been introduced as the first 8 poorest cities in the
country. "Accordingly, Tehran with 4, Mashhad with 3 and Tabriz with 4,000 poor
families have the highest concentration of the poor."

Which provinces of Iran have 60% of their people unemployed? October 1, 2017:
"According to the results of the 2011 census, twenty cities out of 397 cities in
the country have the highest unemployment rate, of the above twenty cities that
have the highest unemployment rate, eight cities in Khuzestan province, seven
cities in Sistan province And belongs to Balochistan.

The two provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan and Khuzestan in 1390 among the
provinces of the country, had the highest unemployment rate; Therefore, the
cities of the two provinces that have the highest unemployment rate in 2016 are
definitely among the twenty cities with the highest unemployment rate.

"The unemployment rate in the provinces of the country is based on the results of
the 2016 census, which is why, most likely, many of the cities with the highest
unemployment rates are in the two provinces of Kermanshah and Chaharmahal and
Bakhtiari."

How will the system change after the overthrow of the government and how will the
government vacuum be filled?

In the state, the ruling minority rules the majority of society and makes any
decision they want for their lives and public wealth, but in the model of
socialism, the people of society decide for their lives collectively and
professionally.

As soon as the government is destroyed, like the Revolution of 1957, everyone
stays on their jobs, only the army, police, IRGC and Basij, and all government
security and military forces are dissolved, so all means of repression, such as
prisons, police and government courts, are destroyed. With the destruction of the
government, its organs of repression will be destroyed) and the people of the
neighborhood will provide their own security, like 57, and immediately town and
village councils will be formed with the participation of all people and
decisions will be made for all their needs and problems. And they divide the
required tasks temporarily and rotatingly and in turn among themselves.

The secret committees of the people of the neighborhoods must be formed from
today so that if the Islamic Republic is destroyed, they can immediately educate
and coordinate the people.

Councils are also formed immediately in all factories and offices and in all
occupations as well as in all specialized sciences (in all specialized fields all
those who have studied in that field will become members of that council, for
example and all those who are physicists Have studied or are studying, become
members of the Council of Physicists) and take over the management of their
workplace collectively, and in fact the councils do the work of the government
(in relation to their own work) and again in a global form, A congress of
councils performs the functions of the government as a whole, and the
representatives of the councils are elected temporarily and rotatingly for the
general congress, and they carry out the decisions and agreements of their
council, and not their own personal decisions.

All decisions of the councils within the framework of respect for the rights of
all human beings living in it (living alone is sufficient and all rights will be
equal) and in accordance with the rights and interests of human beings, animals
and the environment.

People living in each region will speak and study the language of the people of
that region, and the choice of language for education will be voluntary, and
naturally the priority is with the mother tongue of each region.

Against the criminal state management of the pandemic and the murderous
capitalist barbarism ---- In these times of crisis and restructuring of the state
and capital in the midst of a pandemic, the political / economic regime, with its
extreme right-wing management of power, reveals in the most horrible way its
criminal "values" and anti-social aims, leading to mass deaths, destructive
conditions of misery, inequality and exclusion, in incalculable environmental
disasters, in fascism, war and enslavement. ---- A speculative public health
system now called upon to manage a gigantic health crisis, leaving virtually
unmet the life and health needs of the weak, with dozens of our fellow human
beings dying every day, with the deaths of Covid-19s reach 9,330 today, with
critically ill patients being intubated outside the ICU in understaffed and
uninhabited hospitals, with their staff working at a devastating rate, with
unpaid on-call time and overtime, in the shadow of an institutionalized workplace
bullying of the crime committed daily at the level of public health.
An authoritarian and bureaucratic system of public education that widens
exclusions, devalues the permanent needs of teachers and staff in educational
structures, degrades the level of learning at all levels, despises the value of
education as a permanent social need, in order to prepare new generations.
consumables in the plans of political and financial bosses.
A murderous anti-immigration policy reflected in modern concentration camps with
the inhumane and extremely dangerous conditions for the life and health of
refugees and migrants especially in the context of the pandemic, deportations,
deportations and deaths at the border, with the recent Afghan refugee
self-immolation, Guinean refugee abandonment to death from peritonitis, and
Kurdish refugee suicide from Turkey at Kara Tepe, Kos and Corinth detention
centers, respectively, are the tip of the iceberg reserved for the untouchables
of Europe-Fortress.
A sharp escalation of the conditions of exploitation in the context of wage
slavery, following the capitalist upheaval that erupted with the economic crisis,
with the workers of dozens of suspended sectors surviving on wages, with workers
in the black economy being exposed suffocation, with workers forced to work
exposed to the pandemic without the necessary self-protection measures, with the
promoted introduction of 10 hours and unpaid overtime, with the spectrum of
unemployment, poverty and destitution widening for more and more people.
A system of dominant propaganda and manipulation, which masks the murderous state
management of the pandemic, the crimes of state officials and prominent
capitalists, the regime of suffocation and misery imposed on the pubic strata of
society, the campaign of terror and intimidation.
A police state that is constantly equipping, expanding and militarizing,
instrumentalizing the pandemic with the aim of reducing social and class
resistance and consolidating social control, by banning demonstrations, traffic
bans, establishing a special police force within universities, widespread police
and police violence, the torture of protesters, the unjustified pre-trial
detention, the brutal persecution of militants, the escalation of control over
prisoners, the housing structures and fireplaces.

A threat that, following the evacuation of Terra Incognita and the police
invasion of Libertatia in Thessaloniki in August, as well as the evacuation of
Rosa Nera in Chania in September, was renewed through the reproduction of
security scripts in the controlled electronic press in November of the occupation
Lela Karagianni 37 in an attempt to create favorable relations for its
repression, through the fascist attack with the assistance of ELAS in the
occupation of the Free Social Space School on March 25, and with the power outage
in the occupation of refugee / immigrant housing 26 on March 30.

Closing 33 years of life and struggle through the occupation of Lelas Karagianni
37, a space liberated from the dominant "values" of profit, hierarchy,
individualization, alongside the collective cinematic ventures that compete with
the culture of exploitation and oppression, we do not have illusions for the
landscaping and alternative management of the rotten and bankrupt political /
economic system of state and capital that plunders and destroys nature and
enslaves society to modern totalitarianism. We accompany the political, social
and class forces from below, which set up embankments in every field of state and
capitalist barbarism. We share the vision of a world of equality, freedom and
solidarity, contrasting the extremely topical issue of meeting the fixed and
vital social needs for health, food, education, housing for all and all, in the
face of the dystopian impasse of perpetuating the world of abysmal social and
class divisions and inequalities. We defend the territorialization of libertarian
projects and the self-organized coverage of the social need for housing,
resisting the ever-threatening repression, as we have always done by defending
the occupation together with friends and supporters, both from repressive
businesses and repressive businesses and gangs. in the face of the dystopian

Having temporarily suspended for reasons of protection from the pandemic the open
political, social and cultural events, as well as the operation of the playground
"The Other Cloud" in the area of occupation, we propose social solidarity by
organizing collections of basic necessities and their distribution to all those
we can approach and know they lack. We are preparing for the meeting of the games
through the reception of the Zapatistas in the context of their trip to Europe,
promoting international solidarity from Turkey to Palestine and Myanmar, from the
mountains of southern Mexico to the metropolises of Europe and everywhere in the
world. of the struggle clashes with the world of power. We unite our voices and
actions with those who defend the natural world from its speculative looting, in
Acheloos, Agrafa, Parnitha, Skouries, Stagiates, etc., with those who oppose
privatization, the shrinkage, the exclusion of public spaces, such as in the park
of Lelas Karagianni (Cyprus and Patissia) in Kypseli, the hill of Strefi and the
self-managed park of Navarino in Exarchia, etc. Against social cannibalism we
contrast the collectivization of resistances, against gender-based violence we
respond with the struggle against patriarchy, with the camaraderie between the
fighters in the common cause of social and class emancipation.

And until next spring... no nostalgia for this old world that, for a long time
now, belongs to the past. No compromise with the lifeless present that promises
only the worst. No hesitation and fear for the future we want: the social
revolution, anarchy and libertarian communism.

Solidarity with the struggle of health to strengthen public health - Direct
requisition of private health facilities
solidarity to struggling students against educational restructuring exclusion,
repression and subjugation
solidarity with the arrested / eises demonstration in New Smyrna suffered torture
and rape threats in GADA, and the immediate release of pre-trial detainees, whose
persecution is vindictive and aimed at terrorizing those who demonstrate and
fight in the streets.
Everything for everyone! Food, health, education, housing.

Social self-organization, militant resistance, class solidarity everywhere!

Organization and struggle for freedom!

The government's authoritarian Police, Crime Sentencing and Courts Bill may be on
the back burner, but it's only a matter of time before they wheel this out again,
chuck in a few amendments to get "Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition" onside (not
that they actually need them with the current Tory majority) and make this
repressive bill law. Then, none but the most placid, quiet, cap-doffing,
grovelling and ineffectual forms of protest will be permitted by the State: every
picket line will be threatened by the cops; Gypsy, Roma, Traveller people will be
targeted even more than they are now. ---- Long live May Day! The resistance

We need free access to medical care that gives us the ability of choice, of
support, of making our decision, of safe pregnancy, of facilitating a decision to
terminate it and decent conditions in any kind of gynecological examination. For
migrants and locals, towards the self - determination of our bodies. ---- At the
point where the discrimination on the basis of gender intersects with the
oppression of national origin and color, the access to human conditions of
gynecological healthcare becomes significantly difficult. ---- ?ne year since the
pandemic outbreak, the Greek state policies concerning healthcare highlighted the
insufficiency and deficiencies of the national health system; most of which are
being covered by the overwork of an inadequate number of healthcare workers. As
Covid patients are increasing, in the absence of first grade healthcare
infrastructure, a significant number of patients are deprived of access to an
ICU, sheduled surgeries etc. The state decision to not strengthen the national
health system (ESY) constantly produces exclusions of thousands of patients. Even
before the pandemic, migrants have been facing multiple exclusions on healthcare,
as a result of the anti - migrant politics of the greek state.

These exclusions become more obvious, when - in order to have a gynecological
test - a migrant woman faces a racist system that includes the absence of
translators and social workers, the difficulty of booking an appointment and the
indifference of the healthcare personnel. Just to mention an example, a migrant
woman who was about to give birth the following month of the visit to the clinic,
was given and appointment for the necessary ultrasound a month after the birth
date (!).
Apart from that, a racist "segregation" is taking place inside hospitals,
according to which, unexperienced or intern doctors, are testing their skills
(experiment) on non white / non local bodies.

We consider all of the above a result of a double discrimination against women
migrants; against both their gender and their color/origin, since the only way to
get even a simple check, is to be considered an emergency. Migrant women need to
face urgent health problems in order to avoid being dealt with indifference. It
is in this kind of exclusions that the state policy that treats migrants as a
"surplus population". Under this perspective, the needs of migrant women remain
invisible, since they are not giving birth to a "Greek" person. As a result, they
remain excluded from healthcare, either they want to stop or continue a
pregnancy. At the same time in the cities and even more in the camps, migrants
have absolutely no access to contraceptive methods, which means they can obtain
no control of their bodies.

The ongoing war against migrants makes them vulnerable and forms a threatening
condition for their health, as: - chronic health problems remain without
monitoring - people without AMKA are excluded from being prescribed the
medication they need - patients with problems that need surgery do not have
access to care, and that results in their problems getting worse and chronic -
there is no pre-symptomatic screening (mammograms, colonoscopies etc.) for
conditions that are fully treated if diagnosed early and no routine check-ups
-unacceptable living conditions and malnutrition, also of a large number of
children and adolescents among else, are contributing to the growing
deterioration of their health - people with mental health issues remain without
support. All these are added to the fact that the major gynecological practices
are mostly hostile to the female bodies even of local women.

A lot of us have had a series of experiences that include at best embarrassment,
and at worse devaluation of our bodies and abusive behaviours inside the room of
the gynecological examination. Late appointments and indifference in public
hospitals often force us to seek out a private doctor - if there is financial
ability - and all these processes are always done with great stress and fear for
what we may have to deal with each time.

WE DEMAND THE OBVIOUS

We need free access to medical care that gives us the ability of choice, of
support, of making our decision, of safe pregnancy, of facilitating a decision to
terminate it and decent conditions in any kind of gynecological examination.

For migrants and locals, towards the self - determination of our bodies.

Several of us then decided to participate in the rally organized by Rainbow House
and its members. We also wanted to make a comeback, which was delayed, to the
point where we wondered if it was not "a little late to talk about it". ----
Finally, it seemed essential to us to refuse this instinct to prescribe. On the
contrary, it is by continuing to talk about it that we bring our memory to life
and prevent History from forgetting the names of our dead. ---- It is political
to remember that nothing is trivial in the stories of murders, which homophobia
and transphobia have killed and continue to kill. ---- One of our comrades who
was at the said rally was accompanied by a sign "Justice and Police accomplices".
Justice and Police accomplices
Indeed, justice questioned the homophobic nature of the murder, yet objectively
apparent: the suspects had already committed at least two other assaults on
homosexuals and were therefore known to the police. It therefore seems clear to
us that these two institutions once again have a responsibility in the face of
our deaths.

Very quickly, the person was refused entry by the organizers as well as by the
police themselves, who explained to him that "the rally was not political".

We reject this position, and say the opposite: everything about a rally in the
face of murder in our community is, and must be, political.

We see in this a recovery, usual of the violence suffered by our communities, on
the part of the institutions, and we denounce it. If we respect the bereavement
of the family and express our full support for it, this in no way removes the
need to politicize this type of event, which is not foreign to us.

It is our right and duty to take hold of this drama to include it in the
continuity of Queer history, because it is also the history of the members of our
oppressed, marginalized, and killed communities.

It is essential to shout loudly that

SI, this murder is homophobic!
That it is not negligible that the police knew the suspects for other homophobic
assaults but that the murder was still committed.

That the murder of an LGBT person in a municipality that votes 55% for n-va and
vlaams belang is not a simple detail.

That it is not trivial either that this assassination took place during a
pandemic where our usual meeting places between Queer people were torn from us,
pushing us to meet in unsafe places, like the park where David Polfiet was killed.

We refuse to allow institutions to speak for us in a depoliticized way, and we no
longer want to give them the opportunity to do so.

We also want to note that a collective outrage is usually eased when it comes to
dealing with the murder of a cis man; the politicization of his memory should not
overwhelm that of all of our other dead trans, dykes, TDS, racialized,
precarious, and should not promote the sole liberation of male speech.

Finally, it should be noted that it has been barely a month since this crime was
committed and already, we have heard no more about it.

Silence is murderous in that it protects and contributes to this
heteropatriarchal justice that we no longer want.

We will act so that this stops and that our gatherings are proud to be political.

In 2018, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation commissioned
an investigation with the General Inspectorate for Education, Sport and Research
(IGÉSR), after being referred to by the President of the University of Paris
(merger in 2019 of the universities of Paris-Descartes, Paris-Diderot and the
Institut de physique du globe de Paris). ---- The latter followed a movement of
grouped complaints filed a few months earlier by members of the Department of
Psychoanalytic Studies of the UFR Institute Humanities, Sciences and Societies
(IHSS), relating to sexual and moral harassment and implicating several members.
of this department, including the director of the UFR himself. Since then, the
university tries somehow to bury the case. Agathe Keller, member of the
intersyndicale for the National Union of Scientific Research Workers (SNTRS-CGT)
recounts.

Alternative Libertaire: How can you explain the impunity with which the attackers
were able to act within the university for many years ?

Agathe Keller : The stories of blackmail and sexual harassment at the origin of
the investigation by the General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research
(IGÉSR) have existed for a very long time within the university, higher education
and research, as elsewhere in society. According to the testimonies we have
gathered (and which are undoubtedly in the IGESR investigation, but we do not
have access to it), it would seem that the abuses of power were often exercised
on very fragile and isolated, especially foreign students who came to Paris to study.

So the question would probably be the other way around: how is it that in the end
we ended up knowing something? I believe that impunity has made some
enterprising, to the point of attacking not only weakened students but also a
post-doctoral student, a lecturer in post, less inclined to let it go. And then
the gender equality pole of the former Paris-VII University was very active, and
the #MeToo atmosphere must have played a role.

Finally, there was the suicide of a former student of the department, in 2017,
who threw herself into the Seine with her thesis, in front of the university. All
of this seems to have catalyzed the desire to file a criminal complaint, then
testify to the number of abuses that existed in this department - abuse that was
not just sexual, and that the university had known well and for a long time - to
compel the presidency Act.

What explains the inaction of the university and its lack of support for victims ?

Agathe Keller : It's a real question, she keeps asking us questions. To revolt us
too. We can answer in terms of the university's internal policy: that the
successive presidencies have been strongly supported by this department and
therefore have in return protected it, by covering what was happening there. The
stories of sexual assault that have leaked out are just the tip of the iceberg of
a more systemic dysfunction of the department and the laboratory associated with it.

It is a more global system of abuse of power which is also based on a deviation
from university democracy; with questionable operation, particularly in terms of
recruitments. On this scale, perhaps the university could be considered
criminally responsible. She would therefore seek to cover up the affair ...

But when you see the governance of the current presidency, you wonder if in fact,
in truth, it just doesn't care. As long as it doesn't tarnish her image, that we
don't talk about it, we just have the impression that she doesn't care.

How do the students and staff experience the situation ?

Agathe Keller : Very, very badly. The current health situation is obviously not
helping. But nothing, absolutely nothing, despite the recommendations of the
IGESR, has been put in place to help the victims. Those who have had the courage
to testify, to resist, or to speak out in protest are placarded when it comes to
personnel, and have been threatened when it comes to students, who are worried
about being able to secure their diplomas, their scholarships... and to be sued
for defamation.

But since the beginning of the year that has changed a bit, a new collective
legal action has just been launched. The former director of the department has
posted a site where he accuses these colleagues at length and by name of having
lied about him. They decided to sue him for libel together. This union in action
has revived everyone a bit.

What was the action of trade unions and trade unionists in this affair ?

Agathe Keller : First of all historically, one of the harassed was an elected
SNESUP. She was a well-known voice of dissent in the lab. It had already been
followed by elected officials of the university's CHSCT, who had therefore for a
long time alerted and relayed the dysfunctions of this department. I got into the
story after the investigation.

When I had the opportunity to meet a group of students and staff mobilized but
scared by legal proceedings, I thought of an inter-union both as a lever and as a
shield. Leverage so that people outside the UFR and even the university are
interested in this story. Shield, to denounce facts without being afraid of legal
proceedings. Support from the unions took a long time to put in place, but in the
end, the distribution of our leaflet gave us all strength.

In conjunction with the elected officials of the CHSCT, this really gave weight
to the collective's demands. The joint reflection with elected officials and
seasoned activists on the actions to be taken, the demands to be made, has been
invaluable and a source of hope. The stake now is twofold. There is an
institutional part: we have to find a way to break the system, to rebuild the UFR.

We are here at a time of crisis, with a standoff between the presidency of the
university, the directorates of the components, the staff and the students around
the organization of elections ; we have to fight to make the need for democratic
procedures heard from below. On the other hand, it is a matter of supporting
victims who so wish, both in their personal trajectories and in legal
proceedings. In both cases, we would very much like to have the support of the
central unions, to see !
