We need your help to protect athletes in Japan. From a young age, they are conditioned to believe that enduring abuse and mistreatment is a part of winning. In a survey of Japanese athletes 24 years old and younger, 19% indicated that they had been physically beaten while participating in sports. Many others have also been starved, pushed to train while injured, or have endured emotional abuse. This must stop.
With less than one month until the Olympics, the world’s eyes are on Japan. It is time for us to come together in support of sports free of abuse. Add your voice to our movement toward greater protections for athletes by signing our petition.
We are demanding that Japanese officials, Seiko Hashimoto and Koji Murofushi, commit to the establishment of a Safe Sport Center in Japan. With your help we can create a zero tolerance policy of abuse in sports.
Thank you for standing in solidarity with parents, athletes and supporters in Japan. Together, we can change the game and end athlete abuse in sports.
