Dear friends For most young athletes, sports are a way to socialize, develop leadership skills, and build confidence. However, for many Japanese children who play, these positives are overshadowed by the specter of abuse. According to our 2020 report, 46% of athletes we surveyed reported experiencing either physical or emotional abuse while training . These athletes were slapped, called names, denied food and water, or forced to play with injuries. This behavior negates the benefits and joy of sport from a child.
