#WORLD #WORLDWIDE #BRAZIL #GAY #LGBT+ #News #Journal #Update - Connecting LGBT+ people to mental health care #🇧🇷

A picture of Carú. They have long, dark hair, a mustache, earrings, and a big smile. The text on the image reads: Help Acolhe LGBT+ save lives in Brazil

Imagine if you, could make a profound difference in the life of an LGBT+ person who is struggling right now?

My name is Carú, I'm a psychologist and I coordinate Acolhe LGBT+ at All Out, which connects LGBT+ people in Brazil with local therapists who volunteer to support them for free.

Acolhe LGBT+ is turning one 🎉 and to celebrate, we launched a campaign to keep the project running for another year. Your donation today will make a difference in the life of an LGBT+ person who can't access the support they need.

This project was born from the generosity of those who donated last year to kickstart it. And in its first year alone, Acolhe LGBT+ has already connected over 1,400 LGBT+ people to therapists in every state of Brazil!

But there are so many more people who we haven't been able to help, waiting to be matched with a therapist, while dealing with the isolation, fear, and anxiety brought on from the last year and a half of the pandemic.

All Out recently collaborated with our partner group Vote LGBT on a survey about the impacts of the pandemic for LGBT+ Brazilians. Our mental health was one of the most impacted areas: more than 55% of respondents said their mental health is worse now than last year. And around 80% of them said they are clinically depressed, compared to about 40% of the general population.

Acolhe LGBT+ is as urgent as ever. Donate €10 to help us keep it going for another year!

Um abraço,
Carú, from All Out
