On Saturday September 25, the LGBTI + Quazar center is organizing in partnership
with local activist organizations, the Pride d'Angers. Scheduled for spring 2020,it was postponed due to the health context which did not allow it to be organized
as the activists wanted. ---- In recent years, faced with: ---- - attacks and
attempts to intimidate the Alvarium fascists; ---- - the insulting and sometimes
violent gatherings of the Manif pour tous (MPT), the most recent of which was in
early September 2021; ---- - the homophobic attacks by the MPT and other
far-right networks; ---- - to the exclusion imposed by the municipality via an
approach to relocate the LGBTI center which rather resembled a path strewn with
pitfalls, unexplained refusals and other political traps - to the prevention
campaigns on HIV banned by the municipality ...
it is essential to let the LBGTI wave express itself and gain the political
visibility it deserves.
This pride, organized with conviction and force by determined activists is more
than necessary. She comes to remind the municipality, the fascists and other
homophobes, that the question of the rights of LGBTI people is not a debate, or a
discussion of counter but a political struggle on which we will not let go. Even
today, here in Anjou, people are harassed, attacked or threatened with death
because of their sexual orientation, their gender or the family model they have
built. And that without firm opposition from our local elected officials who
prefer to ostrich and support local xenophobes who still think that their
opinions count on the subject of PMA. Except that this is without counting the
Angevin rainbow response which does not weaken, with the Quazar center in the lead,
UCL 49 gives its full support to Quazar as well as to all the comrades who
organize this event or support it with their presence or their donations. We will
also be present to celebrate this new pride march, on Saturday September 25, 2021
at 2 p.m. on the Coeur de Maine esplanade. The LGBTI response will leave no
respite for homophobes, fascists and religious extremists in Angers. We're here
and you won't erase us!
Meeting on Saturday September 25, 2021 at the Esplanade Coeur de Maine in Angers
From 11 a.m. for the LGBTI + Pride Village
Then from 2 p.m. , gathering for the LGBTI + Pride March
