After the magnificent opening concert given by Severin von Eckardstein, it is time to look forward again to the next edition of the Brussels Chopin Days.
It is none less than the Ukrainian virtuoso Alexander Romanovsky that will make his appearance.
At the age of just 17, he won the 1st Prize at the F. Busoni International Piano Competition, and since than the international successes succeed one another.
In the meantime, he performed on the most renowed stages such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Great Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Sala Verdi in Milan,...
and worked with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Antonio Pappano, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Spivakov, James Conlon,...
It is needless to say that Alexander Romanovsky is absolute world class.
It is on Thursday 4 November 2021 that he is coming to Brussels with a varied program entirely dedicated to Frédéric Chopin.
Chopin's Mazurkas aren't played that often on the big concert stages, and it will please many that Alexander Romanovsky made a selection of 12 Mazurkas to start his recital.
After that, he continues with Chopin's masterpiece Ballade No. 1, Op. 23, followed by the last 12 Preludes, Op. 28.
Chopin's preludes are filled with fury, melancholy, passion and poetry.
And may that be the talents of pianist Alexander Romanovsky.
