Since September 13, the employees of the Bergams factory have been on strike.
They denounce a collective performance agreement (CPA) passed a year ago. Thisfight dragged on and could switch to the legal field, ending in a liquidationprocedure. ---- Cause and progress of the strike ---- The Bergams plant, locatedin Grigny (91) is part of Norac food company owned by Bruno Caron (347 th fortuneof France). It produces sandwiches and salads for groups like Monoprix, Relay,Air France. It employs employees of around 35 nationalities, 80% of whom arewomen. ---- In September 2020, following the health crisis and a sharp drop inproduction, management proposed a collective performance agreement (CPA). Thismeasure (introduced by the Macron-Pénicaud ordinances of 2017), makes it possibleto reduce wages, increase working hours, no longer count seniority in wages, nolonger count overtime. But all this, on condition that it is signed by a majorityof elected members of the CSE and validated by a referendum. Threatening to closeshop, management convinces its employees and unions and the APC is signed.A year later, production resumed as before the pandemic, the group is making aprofit, but the management does not want to raise the APC (nothing obliges it).The employees then went on strike in massive numbers at the call of their SUDIndustrie, CGT-FNAF and FO local sections, all of which had elected members ofthe CSE. No more production leaves the factory, and a picket line is installed atthe entrance and held night and day by about fifty strikers. The latter areunited and supported by the departmental unions Solidaires 91, CGT 91 and FO 91whose activists come to support them daily on the picket line, provide them withbarnums, a sound system for the GAs and the atmosphere and set up strike funds. The town hall of Grigny also participates in the support by regularly deliveringfood on the picket line, as do local associations. In addition to the stake, many actions are organized. A first demonstration onSeptember 22, then a rally on October 12 in front of the prefecture of Evry whichreceives a delegation of strikers, and finally a return trip to Rennes to makenoise in front of the management of the Norac group, which also receives adelegation . Many leaflets are distributed in Essonne to publicize the struggleand to fuel the strike funds.Real rogue bossesIn this struggle, the strikers are confronted with real rogue bosses who despisetheir employees. They took advantage of the shock due to the first confinement tofool them by blackmailing them into employment to convince them to validate thisAPC, while the parent company of the plant had colossal capital capable ofabsorbing the drop. of profits of a few months. This APC is no longer relevanttoday, but the bosses are in a strong position and do not intend to hear anything. When the strike starts, they go so far as to post messages in their officewindows: " we like it or leave it " or " Strike = Pôle emploi ", a classcontempt to vomit. These posters disappeared when the first journalists arrivedto cover the struggle.Rather than listen to the legitimate demands of the employees, the managementrefuses any negotiation, and twice sues strikers in court, accusing them ofblocking. Twice it is unsuccessful.Towards an epilogue to the commercial courtThe group has now understood that the strikers will go all the way and will notlet go. Rather than negotiating, he is now simply trying to get rid of thisfactory. The strikers have just learned that the management was initiatingcollective proceedings. Several outcomes are possible: that of a buyer makinghimself known, or the liquidation of the company. In this case, it is at theCommercial Court that the terms of the liquidation will be decided. The fight istherefore moving towards the legal field, and the bosses are already in theprocess of maneuvering. . When the strike began, the factory management praisedthat they had enough funds to go months without production. Today, on thecontrary, it claims to have a colossal debt to the parent company, thusjustifying the need for liquidation.!In recent days, the strikers have decided to occupy their company. They don'twant liquidation, but to be able to return to work with decent wages and workinghours! The Libertarian Communist Union gives its full support to the Bergams strikers.Bergams must live!Libertarian Communist Union, November 2, 2021.https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Des-patrons-voyous-et-une-lutte-qui-dure-et-s-intensifie-a-Bergams_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
