the AUTh Rector's Office on March 11, 2021 ---- In the early hours of March 11,police forces invaded the occupied rectory of the Aristotle University ofThessaloniki, bringing in dozens of fighters, arresting 16 and carrying outprovocative damage to the premises in order to blame the students and thefighters inside. ---- The uniformed bastards, under the leadership of the thenMinister of Citizen Protection M. Chryschoidis, encroach on the asylum for thesecond time in a few days, in order to suppress the students' struggle againstLaw 4777 and the educational restructuring.A few hours before their invasion, the open assembly of the occupied rectory haddecided to end the occupation, while the information had been leaked andcommunicated to both the rector and the Hellenic Police.This very decision proves the importance of the struggle that was given in thosedays. He proved that squatting as a means of struggle of the students organizedfrom below can be considered a powerful weapon of the student movement. The multi-day occupationof the rectory managed to express the first and most dynamic challenge of the lawof Kerameos - Chrysochoidis. From day one, the intrusion of the security forcesinto the Asylum area and the orgy of repression in which they indulged in theimages of brutal violence and the 36 arrests of students / three and theconscious response of the people who decided to defend the occupation challengedin practice no not only the law but also the lawful state violence of the police.As in every day, the Occupation itself was one step ahead of the struggle.It is no coincidence that the state needed the double invasion of the policeforce in the asylum, the mobilization of every available cop even from othercities, in order to encircle the whole university without taking any action infront of the reflexes and the readiness of the solidarity world. the regularvisits of the former Minister of Defense Chrysochoidis with meetings in GADTH, acoordinated mudslinging by the media and by institutional circles of theuniversity, in order to evacuate the Occupation just a few hours before theannounced end of the Occupations themselves. The crowd of almost 10,000 protesters came the nextday to seal it.
