Dear friends –
We're under attack in Ghana.
Earlier this year, a group of politicians brought forward a bill to criminalize our LGBT+ community and our allies. Anyone suspected of being LGBT+ could face up to 5 years in prison, and simply advocating for LGBT+ rights could mean up to 10 years in prison.
If this bill passes, it would undo the years of community organizing and advocacy that LGBT+ activists and organizations like mine have put in. And so many people's lives would be in imminent danger.
But we have something that they don't have, YOU.
Throughout this year, my organization, LGBT Rights Ghana, partnered with the All Out community to mobilize and fight back. Together, we launched a global petition and over 46,000 All Out members have urged the Ghanian government to reject the bill.
Ghana's anti-LGBT+ bill will likely be voted on in Parliament in 2022 and we need to make sure we have enough support to keep up the fight.

This year has been anything but easy. But it's also shown the power of this movement.
In February, my organization had to close our support center after a police raid. When word got out of what had happened, many of us received death threats because of our work.
Then in May, 21 people participating in a human rights workshop were arrested for "advocating for LGBT+ activities." But All Out members donated enough to help us provide food and other urgent needs to the 21 people detained. Together, we petitioned for their safe release, which finally happened in the months that followed.
We have a lot to fight for and we aren't giving up. I hope you aren't either.
Help support the fight against some of the harshest anti-LGBT+ laws and donate $5 today.
Thanks for going All Out,DavidLGBT Rights Ghana
