During this period, actions are being taken against the commercialization and
looting of the Tritsi Park as well as for the dissemination and opening of aproposal for its socialization. We quote indicative photos and the text-proposalthat is distributed in the areas of Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero, Ilio and tovisitors of the park. ---- To pass Tritsi Park in the hands of the people ----Tritsi Park is the largest park in the Balkans with an area of 2,500 acres. Mostof them are trampled for profit. The fragmentation of the park has led to most ofit being in the hands of private owners (eg Serpieris), shopping malls (seeescape ) as well as looting and exploitation by the municipal authorities. Thelocal community as well as the visitors of the park from all over Attica eitherdo not have access to these places which are closed, or the only one that isallowed is that of the consumer.The part of the park that remains public and free to access (around 1000 acres)from year to year is shrinking, fencing and threatened by continuouscommercialization . It is torn apart by the policies of local and regionalauthorities and indulged in business appetites that intensify its abandonment andturn it into an investment fillet of private interests .But Tritsi Park is not just a big park under looting and constant shrinkage. Itis an invaluable natural resource within the urban fabric. Defending it is thebusiness of all the locals and the people who visit it. The image of the park aswe know it with the destruction of wetlands, the threat of wild and rare fauna,the commercialization and the fencing has nothing to do with what it could andshould have. After all , much of the park that remains closed on behalf of themodern capitalist tsiflikades we have not even known.It is not difficult to imagine how many economic exploitation plans of the parkwill be launched and implemented in the next period, completing its destruction .All these years of economic crisis, of memoranda, of pandemic, we have lost alot. And as time goes on we will lose even more if we do not resist. The placeswe grew up and are growing up change their appearance and become worse than wereceived them . Their development is not development for us who live in them.Along with the transformation of cities into even more boring cement sites, ourliving conditions change: poverty, despair, social exclusion, the crushing of thefuture horizon of the youth.Our proposal for Tritsi Park is identical to our overall political positions andproposals for another organization of society so that we can take matters intoour own hands. No savior and no "progressive government" is going to free us fromsuffering and we do not know if there are people now who believe the oppositewithout being associated with particular interests and not belonging to the smallclass of exploiters. We believe that the people, the working class and the youthcan do without a state and bosses, we can do without powers and bosses. In thiscontext, our proposal for the Tritsi Park is being built: to pass under popularmanagement.What we are proposing is for the park to be socialized by the locals and to getout of the hands of the municipal and regional authorities, the management bodyand the business predators. To take over the management and care of all of us .Our proposal is based on 5 axes and will be further specified in the near future,with the aim of opening up and discussing in the local community and becomingeveryone's business .We propose: the total socialization - land, buildings, infrastructure - to servepopular needs and not for profit. To own the park, to co-configure it and toco-manage it. Tritsi Park belongs to all the people and not to the state, localauthorities and businessmen and the people can really take it into their ownhands here and now.We suggest: the utilization of natural resources by the local community of AgioiAnargyroi, Ilio and Kamatero. To take in our hands the management and care of thevineyards, the wineries, the olives, the peanut trees, all the natural wealth andto share its harvest.
