This is a call to a night of strong solidarity with those incarcerated by the
state. Historically, New Year's Eve is one of the noisiest nights of the year.This year, mostly consumed by a global pandemic, we encourage people to takewhatever steps are necessary to ensure community and individual well-being, inresponse to both the virus and the state, understanding the balance that each ofus has. we crave for ourselves. Given our current reality, on New Year's Eve,bring your group, collective, community, organization, or just yourself togetherto raise an outcry and remind those inside that they are not alone.Internationally, demonstrations of noise in front of prison units are a way ofremembering those who are held in prison by the State and a way of showingsolidarity with imprisoned comrades and their loved ones. We come together tobreak the loneliness and isolation.We know that prison is beyond reform and must be completely abolished. This is arepressive mechanism used by the state to maintain a social order rooted in whitesupremacy, patriarchy and heteronormativity. Uniting in places of repression isalso challenging what they stand for.The logic of state and capital, of punishment and imprisonment, must be replacedby a rejection of oppression and exploitation.
