the leaflet below and help us with its distribution! ---- The Ostrava AnarchistFederation (OAF) was established in the autumn of 2016 on the initiative of NorthMoravian anarchists (especially from Ostrava, Frýdek-Místek, Ceský Tešín andOrlová). The main impetus for the establishment of the OAF was the repressionagainst the anarchist movement, which grew into political processes through thePhoenix case. This created a platform for better coordination of anarchistactivities in the region. What did we do in 2021?Solidarity direct actionsIn 2021, the OAF co-organized (or supported) a number of successful campaigns oracts of solidarity. One of the most successful actions of the anarchist movementin the region is the campaign for the arrested comrades from the FNB Minsk, whowere uncomfortable with the Belarusian regime. He called distributing food to thepoor an anti-state activity and imprisoned activists. Solidarity banners werehung in Frýdek-Místek and Ostrava to support the prosecuted; at the beginning ofFebruary, local teams in Ostrava organized the production of solidarity burgers.Proceeds from the sale went to a fine for members of the FNB Minsk, and theymanaged to collect over CZK 11,000. The amount was sufficient to cover the fine.On March International Women's Day, the teams of Cioca Czesia, OAF, FNB and XR inthe center of Ostrava organized a joint happening called Poland is Everywhere.The event, which was attended by several dozen people, was intended to drawattention to the patriarchal oppression facing Polish women. In April,environmental activists sprayed a branch of Ceská sporitelna and Raiffeisen bankto draw attention to the need for carbon neutrality by 2025.In the autumn, the anarchists supported the solidarity happening with refugeesimprisoned on the Polish-Belarusian border, which took place in Ceský Tešín.About a hundred people then demonstrated in front of the Polish consulate as partof a reverential operation for a Polish man murdered by Polish clerical-fascism.In Frýdek-Místek, the OAF also distributed promotional materials to the Workers'Initiative trade union, which is based on anarcho-syndicalism.Publishing activitiesLast year we also regularly informed about events from home and around the worldon our website. We wrote about the cases of imprisoned anarchists, and on May Daywe published an article mapping the course of anarchist May Day events around theworld. In a series of exclusive interviews, this time we interviewed Colombiananarcho-syndicalists from the ULET group. During the autumn elections, we issueda commentary, which, among other things, notes the dangerous rapprochement ofanarchists and political parties.Looking backHistory should be an inspiration to us, especially at a time when the movement isstill trying the same dead ends. We recalled 10 years since the founding of RealDemocracy Ostrava, which showed ordinary people the magic of direct action andhorizontal decision-making. With a reminder of the Mexican Cherán, where theyhave been operating without bosses, politicians and police for 10 years, wewanted to emphasize the viability of anarchist ideas, and with the memory of theParis Commune, Petr Kropotkin and Abel Paz again indicate the theoretical sources.We will be happy to distribute our leaflet, especially in the North Moravianregion.
