After weeks of struggle against a "base agreement" which impacted their wages and
working conditions, Transdev Île-de-France employees are gradually returning towork after an end-of-conflict agreement. A great experience that will count forthe future! ---- Transdev's "base agreement" is a consequence of the opening upto competition of public transport in the Ile-de-France region. From 2023, theTransilien lines will be affected; from 2025, it will be the RATP bus networks;from 2030, RATP trams; in 2040 it will be the Paris metro itself! But from 2021,the bus networks of the greater Parisian crown are concerned, and the call fortenders launched by the Île-de-France region has been won by Transdev. This group, which employs 83,000 people and has a turnover of more than 7.6billion, has largely planed the social achievements of employees to gain incompetitiveness. The basic agreement replaces all the agreements previouslysigned, whether they relate to working conditions (scope of services, workingtime, overtime, etc.) or to remuneration (cleaning premium maintained, mealbonus...). The result was a massive strike in various bus depots for almost twomonths. On Tuesday November 2, work resumed on the site of Vulaines-sur-Seine (77), oneof the most combative, where the strike lasted seven weeks. An end-of-conflictagreement was signed, as in the other establishments. In fact, managementunderstood that it was in their interest to play deposit by deposit negotiationsto limit the convergence of strikers. The content of the agreements thereforevaries from one site to another: maintaining certain bonuses or reducing wagecuts, which is not nothing. In addition, these agreements confirm the abandonment of disciplinary proceedingsagainst strikers and the withdrawal of complaints filed for blocking ordegradation. Even if some of these agreements seem disappointing given theintensity of the standoff, the proof is still made that the fight pays off as themanagement has retreated on several points. And above all, what experienceaccumulated for the strikers! This will count for the rest.Privatization will multiply conflictsFuture prospects? Across the country, the vast majority of employees and users ofurban and interurban networks are already penalized by the private management ofthe public transport service. At the beginning of November, for example, Transdev won the call for tenders forthe operation of the Marseille-Toulon-Nice rail line from 2025. New publicservice delegations will be awarded in the coming months, and other employeeswill experience the same attacks as the Transdevs. And there are already manyconflicts in urban and interurban transport: Orleans, Le Mans, Montpellier orGrenoble ... fed up is spreading. It is therefore time to set up a national response, and this is precisely whatall the activists in the sector must do their utmost by provoking generalassemblies, union meetings, to reflect and organize themselves. . Without adoubt, passenger transport will be a hot sector in the coming year.Alexis (UCL Saint-Denis)https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Transports-publics-apres-Transdev-la-conflictualite-ne-peut-que-grimper_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
