motto: 'Our health must not be a commodity! Class struggle instead of lateralthinking. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for some goodconversations and also one or the other controversial discussion. ---- You canread our appeal, which was also distributed as a leaflet, here. ---- Greetingsand thanks also go to all the people who were back on the streets in Koblenzyesterday and positioned themselves clearly against Nazis, Reich citizens andanti-Semites!https://koblenz.fau.org/2022/01/23/bilder-mahnwache-unsere-gesundheit-darf-keine-ware-sein/-------------------------------------------------- ---------Our health is not a commodity! Class struggle instead of lateral thinkingJanuary 19, 2022 - Categories: GeneralInvitation to the vigil, Saturday 22 January from 1:00 p.m., Südallee cornerJohannes-Müller-StraßeDear friends,we are now in the third year of the pandemic. In the past, it has also becomeclear in this context that neither a 'strong state' nor the supposedly 'marketthat regulates everything' can help us out of the pandemic. Necessary measures, which are clearly in front of us, are not being tackled in any way or are beingput off further under pretense. Our healthcare system should now be in a muchbetter position than it was before - but the measures that are necessary here, such as finally better working conditions for our nursing staff or the release ofvaccine patents, remain unfulfilled demands. The fact that our health continuesto be traded not as a common good but as a commodity is more disturbing than italready is, especially during the pandemic. So instead of working on the reversalof privatizations, our healthcare system is being dismantled piece by piece - asis also shown by the development towards further privatization of the Mittelrheincommunity clinic in our region.Instead of investing in the necessary upgrades in the areas of care and health, there have been massive and far-reaching interventions in people's private livesfor some time - there is no talk of a real shutdown of the economy to minimizethe risk of infection. While large corporations such as amazon or Pfizer are increasing their salesduring the pandemic more than ever before, low earners in particular aresuffering the most from the corona measures - mostly without adequate socialsecurity. The social and economic unequal treatment of people due to their vaccinationstatus, such as the current contact regulations or the continued payment of wagesin the event of quarantine since November 2021, are also unacceptable.Data protection - which used to be taken for granted - has long been out of thequestion. The centralized storage of data (e.g. in the Luca app) is a dangerousbasis for extensive surveillance and further abuse by state authorities.Likewise, the constant monitoring of vaccination status and personal details in awide variety of places is not only unpleasant, but also a clear attack on ourfreedom of movement. The points mentioned are just a few of a whole series of grievances that haveworsened further as a result of the virus and the authoritarian measures taken tocounteract it. The resulting dissatisfaction is understandable and protests aremore than justified. It should have become clear to everyone by now that thenumerous 'walks' cannot be starting points for this. Right-wing extremists,anti-Semites and citizens of the Reich take their inhuman sentiments to thestreets without any visible opposition from those walking along. In order to take up the current events, we call on Saturday, 22.01. from 1 p.m.to a vigil at the corner of Südallee/Johannes-Müller-Straße.https://koblenz.fau.org/2022/01/19/unsere-gesundheit-ist-keine-ware-klassenkampf-statt-querdenken/_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
