On Friday, December 3, about 100 people protested at the OPCW (Organization for
the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) in The Hague. They protested against the useof chemical weapons in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) by the Turkish army. The chemical weapons are used against the local population and revolutionaryfighters in the Kurdish mountains. Despite repeated requests for an independentinvestigation into Turkey's use of chemical weapons, the OPCW has remaineddeafeningly silent. ---- Solidarity with the Kurdish protesters! Freedom for thepolitical prisoner! Action week from 02.01 to 09.01.2022!As an act of civil disobedience, around 50 protesters briefly occupied the OPCWbuilding on Friday. The police responded with disproportionate force, with 4people being hospitalized. Police broke one protester's arm and broke another'snose. 44 people were arrested and held for several days. They will all have toappear in court. Someone has also been deported to the country where the personhas an asylum permit.Four of our Kurdish comrades are to date in detention centers spread across theNetherlands. They will sit at least until February 23, the day the trial takesplace. This says everything about the systematic racism of the Dutch state: whiteactivists are generally released quickly after similar actions. We condemn theexcessive police brutality in the name of the Dutch state and oppose theseridiculous lawsuits. The fight against war crimes should be supported by everyoneand certainly not criminalized. Everyone has the right to demonstrate and theremust also be room to be heard. While we're not surprised (the OPCW is funded and overseen by NATO of whichTurkey is a part), the OPCW chooses to ignore human rights violations. But theDutch state and the European Union should also ask themselves whether supportingTurkey is just. Partly because of the geopolitical relations, the Netherlands andthe European Union continue to cooperate with the fascist Turkish state: they useTurkey as a buffer zone. Turkey stops the flow of refugees to the EU and allowsrefugees to live in appalling conditions in camps. We will continue to oppose this!Activists across Europe have already spoken out against the repression of theKurdish protesters by the Dutch state. Protests were held at various Dutchconsulates and embassies, including in London, Brussels, Vienna, Basel andStrasbourg. Solidarity statements and photos have also been shared by activistsfrom Germany, Catalonia, Galicia and the Philippines. We sympathize with everyonewho puts international solidarity into practice. We demand the acquittal of all political prisoners and support the OPCWprotesters' demand for an independent investigation into Turkey's use of chemicalweapons. We call for solidarity in the action week from January 2 to January 9, 2022! Forexample, we want to put pressure on the Dutch state and bring the oppression ofthe Kurdish comrades to public attention. How can you take action?Make a banner and hang it from the window of your student room, squat or othervisible place.Organize a (spontaneous) demonstration in your city or village.Write letters to the political prisoners.Organize a demonstration or action at related bodies such as the OPCW, Turkish orDutch embassies and consulates.Be angry and creative!Send your actions and photos to radical.solidarity@protonmail.com , we will makesure it gets to the comrades and is seen!Radical Solidarity (NL)https://www.vrijebond.org/solidariteit-met-de-koerdische-demonstranten-vrijheid-voor-de-politieke-gevangen-actieweek-van-02-01-tot-09-01-2022/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
