and would like to offer you some reflections. Beyond what is written onrevisionism and reconciliation, on which we can generally agree, even if it wouldbe necessary to make further investigations, the appeal contains elements that wewant to highlight. ---- Before entering into the merits, it is necessary to makea premise: our movement has always fought against fascism, in its infancy andthroughout the twenty years (Red Biennium, Arditi del Popolo, long anti-fascistexile, attacks on the Duce, Spanish Revolution, autonomous partisan gangs andorganized resistance). In the post-war period he also opposed ChristianDemocratic authoritarianism which often availed itself of the collaboration ofthe Historical Left; the latter, it should not be forgotten, supported Badoglioand the Monarchy, granted amnesty to the fascists (Togliatti) and signed article7 of the Concordat which conferred the Republic's adhesion to the Lateran Pactssigned by Mussolini.We still continue to oppose all authoritarian, fascist and racist demonstrationsby proposing militant anti-fascism as a distinctive element, also and above allintended as a daily opposition to all authoritarianisms.That said, we would like to point out the following.As for the passage in which you write that you welcome the proposals ofparliamentarians to outlaw the neo-fascist parties as stipulated in theConstitution, we believe that it is very difficult, if not impossible, for thestate to ban an instrument that has been used several times for its purposes; buteven if it happened, as in the case of the National Avant-garde and the New Orderin the 1970s, they would immediately reconstitute themselves with another name.Furthermore, the call for a ban (or support for this type of proposal promoted bythe parties) is quite dangerous for all movements of the extra-parliamentaryleft. It is no coincidence that prominent reactionary figures in the Governmenttoday, to the proposal to outlaw the fascist and Nazi movements,In your appeal there are also subtle references to democracy, "born of theResistance", without taking into account that this democracy was built incontinuity with fascism (failure to purge, criminalization of the partisans,reconstruction of the capitalist-state command). Furthermore, with the stablesettlement of American troops in our country, Italy became a country with limitedsovereignty. This explains how democracy allowed, favored and covered themassacres of female workers in the post-war period, the various coup attempts,the innumerable state massacres and the 630 deaths of the Royal Law. And the listgoes on and on.Similarly, the references to the Constitution seem to underestimate that it (likeall state Constitutions) serves to guarantee the constituted powers (property,institutional structures, defense, etc.) responding to the interests of thevarious economic, political, military powers against any social insurgencies. Anyinterpretation of the constitutional dictate is always done from above accordingto the established order. Let's take just one example: Article 11 of theConstitution provides that Italy repudiates war, yet, tricolor imperialism iscurrently engaged in 40 military missions, most of which in Africa and spends 70million euros a day. for war expenses.And we come to the Resistance. Precisely because the anarchists really fought ittogether with other important partisan formations of the communist dissidence, webelieve that it was a failed Revolution, as it failed to transform the corporatestructure in an egalitarian and libertarian direction. Nonetheless, theRevolutionary Resistance distinguished itself, and for this reason it wasboycotted, from the patriotic and tricolor Resistance of the conservative partiesfunded by the Anglo-Americans who imposed the so-called democratic system basedon exploitation and repression.We would like to remind ourselves that the Libertarian Resistance, in itsinternational dimension including the Spanish Revolution of 1936, took placeindependently to the extent that it was also carried out against the imperialistblocs, outside the liberal democracies (heavily colluded with Nazism), againstall totalitarianisms including the Stalinist one and in clear opposition to theRusso-German agreements of 1939 which divided Europe.Furthermore, the political forces of the parliamentary arc seem to findconsiderable importance in the appeal, forgetting, perhaps, that already at theend of the 90s it was Luciano Violante, exponent of the Center-left and thenPresident of the Chamber, who proposed reconciliation with the then "Boys fromSalò", clearing historical revisionism and giving it an institutional patina. Anda few years earlier it was the socialist Craxi, who also headed the government,who legitimized the Italian Social Movement of the partisan shooter, G. Almirante.Also in those years in Reggio, Otello Montanari with his "who knows how to speak"questioned the Resistance and gave the reactionary forces the opportunity to opena vast national campaign aimed at delegitimizing the partisans, despite theprotests of many of them and of the same communist militants. At that time wewere among the few to counter this revisionist drift with a series of articlesappeared in the "Gazzetta di Reggio" and in our weekly "Umanità Nova", defendingthe authentic and internationalist values of the Resistance against anyhistorical removal aimed at supporting new policies arbitration.In conclusion, we believe that more than appeals to institutions, a greatcultural work is needed, done from below, in the first person, to build ananti-authoritarian and anti-fascist culture that knows how to best interpret whatfascism was in the historical context and what they can represent today theauthoritarian tendencies in society, beyond the revisionist campaigns which arenothing more than an expression of the drifts of the current historical momentand of the political transformation, to say the least chronic, of the Italianleft as a whole.For us anti-fascism is not a general-generic value, but it is an important aspectof the class struggle and, more generally, of the battle for social emancipationagainst every power and all its ideologies which, from time to time, they can bepseudo-democratic, nationalist, racist, fundamentalist and, of course, neo-fascist.For this reason, anarchists and anarchists will continue this work clearlyoutside the institutions with moments of study, reflection and mobilization toraise not only the flag of anti-fascism, but also that of freedom.
