from their chimeras and their insidious economic calculations, are the peoples of
Russia and Ukraine (and perhaps soon the peoples of other geographies, near or
far). As Zapatistas we do not support one or the other State, but those who fight
for life against the system.

When the multinational invasion of Iraq took place (almost 19 years ago), led by
the US military, there were mobilizations around the world against that war. No
rational person believed that opposing the invasion meant siding with Saddam
Hussein. Now the situation is similar, though not the same. Neither Zelensky nor
Putin. Stop the war.

SECOND: Various governments have sided with one side or the other, based on
economic calculations. Humanitarian plays no role in their assessments. For these
governments and their "ideologues" there are good and bad
interventions-invasions-disasters. The good ones are the ones done by those who
support and the bad ones are the ones committed by their opponents. The applause
in Putin's criminal argument justifying the military invasion of Ukraine will
turn into a curse when, in the same words, the invasion of other peoples whose
choices are not to the liking of big capital is justified.

Some will invade geographies to save them from "neo-Nazi tyranny" and others to
end up with neighboring "narco-states". And everyone will repeat the same words
of Putin: "we will de-nationalize" (or the equivalent) and there will be plenty
of "excuses" for "danger to their people." And so, as our comrades in Russia tell
us: "Russian bombs, rockets, bullets are fired at Ukrainians and they are not
asked about their political views and the language they speak," but the only
thing that changes is nationality. ??? u?? ??? ??? ??.

THIRD: The big capitals and their governments in the "West" sat with folded arms
and watched - and even encouraged - the deterioration of the situation. Then,
when the invasion was in progress, they waited to see if Ukraine would resist,
making their calculations of what they could gain from one result or the other.
So as Ukraine resists, they are beginning to lend a helping hand, in the form of
an account that will be collected later. Putin is not the only one who was
surprised by the Ukrainian resistance.

The winners of this war are the great consortiums of arms and the great
capitalists who see the opportunity to conquer, to destroy / to rebuild lands,
that is, to create new markets for goods and consumers, for people.

FOURTH: Instead of turning to what the media and social networks of the two sides
are spreading - and which both present as "news" - or to the "analyzes" of the
suddenly innumerable geopolitical experts and defenders of the Warsaw Pact and
NATO, we decided to look for and ask those who, like us, insist on the struggle
for life in Ukraine and Russia.

After several attempts, the Zapatista Committee Six managed to get in touch with
our relatives in the resistance and uprising in the geographies called Russia and
Ukraine.

FIFTH: To sum up: these comrades of ours, who also raise the flag of the Liberal
@, remain steadfast: in resistance those in Donbass, Ukraine, and in revolt,
those who walk and work in the streets and on the land of Russia. There are
people who have been arrested and beaten in Russia for protesting against the
war. There are dead in Ukraine who were killed by the Russian army.

It unites them (and unites us with them), not only the NO to war, but also the
refusal to "align" with governments that oppress their peoples.

In the confusion and chaos on both sides, their beliefs hold them steadfast:
their struggle for freedom, the rejection of their borders and Nation-states, and
the corresponding oppression that only changes flag.

It is our duty to support them to the best of our ability. A word, a picture, a
melody, a dance, a raised fist, a hug - even from distant geographies - is a
support that will encourage their hearts.

To resist means to persevere and endure for a long time. Let us support these
comrades in their resistance, that is, in their struggle for life. We owe it to
them and we owe it to ourselves.

SIXTH: For all of the above, we call on the national and international Sixth -
according to their times, geographies and ways each - to demonstrate against the
war and support the Ukrainians and Russians fighting in their geographies for a
world with freedom.

We also call for financial support for the resistance in Ukraine on accounts that
will be indicated to us in due course.

For its part, the Sixth EZLN Committee is doing the same, sending little help to
those fighting in Russia and Ukraine against the war. We have also started
contacts with our comrades in SLUMIL K'AJXEMK'OP (Europe) to set up a common
financial fund to support those who resist in Ukraine.

Clearly, we are shouting and calling on you to shout and demand: The Russian army
is out of Ukraine!
