privatization process with the support of the Socialists. This operation was
justified on the grounds of "modernizing the service", leaving it in the hands of
"professionals" to turn it into a more competitive sector and thus be able to
lower prices. Nothing is further from reality. ---- We have been hearing for
weeks in the bourgeois media how the price of electricity beats historical rise
records, every day. The "experts" invited to the talk shows on TV and those who
write the columns in the newspapers go over the matter without clarifying
anything at all, because nothing says that things work like that in a capitalist
economic model. Politicians lie, they did so when they said that privatization
would lower prices, and companies do what their nature prompts them to do: make
profits and accumulate capital without caring if people have enough resources to
pay the bill or not. Nor do our miseries matter to the politicians who today are
directors and employees of privatized companies, enjoying the reward obtained
after hard work in favor of economic liberalism. The objectives of liberalism are
none other than to transform anything into merchandise: sunlight, water, a walk
in the countryside, leisure, culture, health... any need we have or any activity
we wish to carry out will end up having a price that we will have to pay to the
companies.

To the electricity bill we must add the gasoline of the car, the internet, the
digital television platforms, the mortgage or the rent of the apartment, the
insurances and even the pensions. To all this we must include all the promises of
well-being and happiness, translated into consumer goods, that the bourgeois
working class must acquire with their increasingly precarious jobs and with their
increasingly miserable salaries. We can expect many things from the State, but
not that it resolves this situation, since its function is none other than, on
the one hand, to promote economic growth and guarantee the benefits of large
companies, and on the other, to repress, persecute and lock up who has the
audacity to confront this criminal system. Before they rescue a bank and its
directors with multimillion-dollar salaries, than a family without resources.

Capitalism is not an aberration just because it allows a privileged minority to
accumulate as much wealth as possible, leaving nothing but misery for the rest.
It is also because to achieve this goal it is capable of anything: destroying
forests, poisoning rivers, exterminating animal species, cultures and traditional
ways of life, whatever. There is not a single corner of the world that is not
threatened by the capitalist way of life.

The electricity bill remains as something anecdotal in the face of the deep
danger that capitalism represents for any form of life on the planet, however, it
should be enough to provoke a revolt that would spread throughout all the cities
of Spain, destroying everything, because the electricity price rise is nothing
more than a scam and they are laughing in our face. But of course, the consumer
society also has that effect among the working class: it lulls them to sleep with
so much advertising propaganda, and in their dreams of acquiring consumer goods
with which to be socially accepted, there is no room left for struggle or for
social justice, and peacefully submits to any abuse, whatever it may be, perhaps
hoping that some politician will solve something.

In the CNT-AIT we do not rest on our laurels, nor do we allow ourselves to be
deceived by the false promises of freedom and well-being. We know that social
justice will only be possible the day the working class becomes aware and, by its
own means, without delegating to any institution, ends all state government,
class society, the capitalist production system and all form of authority.
