I'm Marcos from All Out, here in Brazil. Today I'm writing to share my story of how I came to All Out, and how this organization changed my life. 💖
My turning point happened last year, when I participated in All Out's online mobilization training program for LGBT+ activists.
It was by far one of the best experiences of my life!
Having the opportunity to meet LGBT+ activists from all parts of Brazil with such incredible and different stories was really enriching. We shared our experiences, supported each other, and created wonderful campaigns for LGBT+ rights! 🌈
And I can say with all certainty that the teachings and tools provided by the All Out team were fundamental in equipping us to fight for LGBT+ rights in the best possible way.
For you to better understand the importance of this program, I'll tell you a bit more about my story. I'm from a small town in the north of Brazil, located in the Amazon Region.
I've always wanted to work towards something that would make a difference in the world, but when you come from a place like this – far from the city – there aren't a lot of opportunities, and many times you have to make do with what you have.
And being a gay man, I still had to deal with prejudice in my family, in society, and even in work environments.
Luc, today I couldn't be happier. Not only for being part of the All Out team and working on LGBT+ rights advocacy, but also for knowing that this movement cares about supporting activists around the world, who – just like me – may be in the most remote places! 🌎
In 2022, All Out wants to move even further and promote at least 7 more training programs – split between Latin America and Africa – which will impact 85 more LGBT+ activists! 💪
And, just like the previous trainings, All Out does not charge a single cent from participants in order to make sure no deserving and amazing activists are left out.
