If the re-election of Macron is not really a surprise, the reflex everything
except Le Pen remaining powerful, the upheavals of the political field are themof a surprising magnitude. Now the presidential agenda is simple: finish thedirty work for the benefit of the capitalists and the financial markets. Theworkers' side must be prepared to fight hard battles. ---- What tendencies toremember from this presidential election? The bloc of the electorate seduced byan unbridled liberalism which would be profitable to it is a far cry fromhegemony. Certainly the Macronist takeover on the right is a major success. Thefaithful of Sarkozy will swell the troops of LREM, and the most fachos will getcloser to the extreme right. The founding fiction of En Marche, a movement "andof left and right", is dead.If a few personalities from the PS or the Greens can still be bought for aministry or other reward, it is a safe bet that this will remain marginal.Ultra-liberal centrism is well on the right, and it no longer has any reservations.A majority in Parliament?Unlike Tony Blair, who had dragged the majority of the Labor Party into hisultraliberalism, Macron had to content himself with splitting the most right-wingwing of the PS and EELV to found En Marche. But since the founding event of LREM,socialist or environmentalist rallies have become rare, and several personalitiesof these sensibilities have abandoned the Macron ship. From this point of view,we must not, despite their tiny scores, bury the PS and EELV too quickly.Because if the parties can disappear, reformism remains a natural ideologicaloption for all those who would like a "better" society but reject any radicaloption. One way or another, one or more political formations will continue tocarry the illusion of capitalism with a human face.Among the left-wing parties that still carry projects of social transformation, the deep reorganization of forces is no longer avoidable. Mélenchon must nowmanage his success, and succeed in building an alliance that could go from theNPA to the left sectors of the PS and the Greens. Immediately after thelegislative elections, this means a minimum political pact and a distribution ofconstituencies.Nothing is won, and we can count on many picturesque local situations ! And yetthe situation is unprecedented. The grouping of voters was made around threemajor blocs: left, liberal right, extreme right. If repeated in June, this scenario promises many triangles, the outcome of whichis inherently uncertain. Nothing says that Macron will have a majority to govern.Nothing says either the extent of the gains in deputies for the left but also forthe fachos...No one will have voted for Macron thanks to his concessions of a social nature, such as his verbal retreat on retirement at 65. Nevertheless, there will alwaysbe time to remind him that he spoke out for ecological planning and for theindexation of pensions to inflation !But in truth his project is known: to finish breaking all the legal andregulatory barriers protecting our social assets and our public services: theschool and the hospital will be completed to allow capital to invest more widelyin both sectors. For the school, let us scratch in passing these "alternative"environments which are already in the process of building private structureswhere they can shelter their offspring in supposedly excellent establishmentswhich, in rural areas in particular, contributes to accelerating the closure ofsmall public schools...Public broadcasting under threatAt a time when the ultra-conservative and wealthy Bolloré is taking over entiresections of the country's press and publishing, Macron promises us the abolitionof the audiovisual license fee. This means that, underfunded, the public groupFrance Télévisions will also be left to the appetite of private investors, bymultiplying advertising and low-cost content, and by selling certain channels andradios to a few big bosses eager for affecting. In the field of ecology, he will continue to support the demands of agro-industryand relaunch nuclear power, under the illusory pretext of global warming. On thefight against violence against women, everyone knows that the budgets do notallow us to keep the few commitments made. On the democratic ground, it is likelythat his Bonapartist inclinations will worsen in a headlong rush to hold out forthe five years of the second term. The brutal arrest of Jean-Baptiste Eyraudduring a recent demonstration declared by DAL in Paris is one sign among others.Other signs : the rhetoric and repression aimed at various activists hastilyqualified as " ultra-left ", such as the dissolution of an anti-fascist group inLyon. Clearly, it is imperative to help strengthen combative associations on allthese grounds. Finally, on the social field, the RSA with compulsory activity would sign thestandardization of work without real salary. We must oppose it with force. As forretirement at 65, it will of course be "the mother of battles", the Medef havingalready taken offense at the decline at 64.Preparing the social and political responseIt is likely that we will benefit from a reprieve while waiting for thelegislative elections. But if they were once again to offer an absolute majorityto Macron, it is to be feared that he would strike very hard in the summer, taking advantage of a stupefying effect and the holidays. From today, we have todefend our wages, our pensions, our social assistance, eaten away by the returnof strong inflation. With 8.5% inflation in March in the United States, we must expect the worst, especially since constrained spending - heating, transport, electricity, food -will reach new heights. The unions are already registering a resurgence of wagestrikes. This is the central issue between now and the summer. All the candidates had included it in their electoral propaganda. This revival ofsocial unrest which, more than the public service, affects private companies, including small companies, is a real encouragement to relaunch unionization. If wages are permanently on the front of the stage, it is also necessary toprepare, undoubtedly for the start of the school year, the conditions for ageneral strike against the breakage of pensions. Preparing is concrete work, withassemblies in each workshop, each department. We must encourage colleagues topull out all the stops to hold the strike, build the broadest union unity up topermanent mobilization committees, set up democratically managed strike funds asclose as possible to the employees in integrating non-union members where necessary. But it is also a question of preparing the political conditions for a generalstrike. While the left-wing parties and their activists are coming out of anelectoral sequence where they have been divided and insulted all the time, it isin the struggle unions that they can and must return to the service of thestruggles. More than ever, the "double duty" of revolutionary unionism and theindependence of the unions must be defended. A natural compass for libertariancommunists.Jean-Yves (UCL Limousin)https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Macron-reitere-ses-objectifs-de-guerre_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
