Dear ,
My name is Shahriyar Mandegar* and I'm a gay man from Afghanistan.
Almost a year has gone by since the Taliban took over in Afghanistan and the lives of LGBT+ people are increasingly put in danger – from torture to stoning by the Taliban, we will never be safe here.
I experienced this horror first-hand before finding refuge in another country thanks to the generosity of All Out members and the support of ILGA Asia. They saved my life, and I'll be forever grateful.
But for one person like me who found safety, there are dozens and dozens of others who could be catastrophically captured, tortured, and eventually killed by the Taliban every single day.
Today, All Out and ILGA Asia have partnered up again to raise the funds needed to bring to safety other LGBT+ people in dire need of help. And that's why I'm emailing you today.
Can you donate to help provide the resources needed to evacuate more LGBT+ Afghans?
Your gift today will directly pay for organizing safe passage out of Afghanistan for at least six LGBT+ people facing the most extreme risk.
Before I fled from Afghanistan, I was on the run every day. After all, had I been arrested, nothing but stoning and death would have been there for me. I also was in dire financial need – no money meant no food or escape.
And these days, the situation is getting worse and worse. For a while now, LGBT+ people in Afghanistan have been exposed to forced disappearances and are detained by Taliban terrorists.
Please, donate today to help LGBT+ people leave Afghanistan.
Thanks for going All Out,Shahriyar Mandegar (He/Him)
*I'm not using my real name for my own safety
